Stand firm in your Faith especially under Demonic Attack!

Commentary By:  Gordon King

We are in a battle my friends, a battle between the forces of good and evil, a spiritual battle.  Evil spirits are fighting hard against those that stand for the truth, against those that belong to God Almighty!

Ephesians 6:12

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Christians in the world today are under tremendous attacks from the enemy.  Those that follow Jesus Christ and walk in His footsteps are being demonically attacked at an alarming rate.

John 1:5

“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Spiritual darkness in high places are leading the world further into darkness, these people are spiritually blind.  They cannot see the truth, do not want to hear the truth, and have an aversion to the truth, and in fact become aggressive to the truth!

1 John 1:6

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”

Unfortunately, many believers today are also living in darkness.  These believers, or so-called believers, cannot see the truth, they are also spiritually blind.  They cannot see the darkness that surrounds them, nor can they relate it to bible prophecy.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

As believers in Jesus Christ we can be led by the darkness if we allow ourselves to be.

2 Peter 1:9

For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.”

2 Peter 3:17

“You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;”

Not following in the footsteps of Christ will lead to darkness and spiritual blindness, I’m talking about believers in Jesus Christ!  We as believers in Jesus Christ are to walk in the light, not as fools but as wise.

Ephesians 5:15-16

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Ephesians 5:8

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light “

The fact is that we are in the middle of a spiritual battle, we are being attacked daily by spiritual hosts of wickedness!  And those believers that are following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and proclaiming the truth are being attacked ruthlessly.

1 Peter 5:8-9

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”

The world is increasingly persecuting Christians, especially Christians that stand in the truth of God’s word, those that proclaim God’s word, and those that expose the darkness for what it really is, evil.

The darkness has infiltrated every aspect of our society, including the church!  Many believers have been led astray and now follow the doctrines of demons.

1 Timothy 4:1

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons”

The apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4 that they will not endure sound doctrine, that they will heap up for themselves teachers to preach to them their own desires.  Paul wasn’t speaking about unbelievers but believers in Jesus Christ!  This my friends is a departure from the faith, it is apostasy!

The apostle Paul told us in 2 Thessalonians that there will come a time of great apostasy before the rapture of the church.

2 Thessalonians 2:3

“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first..”

That day the apostle Paul is talking about is our gathering together with Christ, the rapture of the church!

In my opinion, I believe that the last day church will be likened to the Laodicean church.

Revelation 3:17

Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked”

This my friends is an apostate church.

Revelation 3:19

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.”

This church has been led astray, it has fallen away from the truth, it is blind to the truth!  And it’s very sad to say but most of the church today is in the same boat.  There is however, a remnant of believers that are standing firm in the faith, that are following in the footsteps of Christ, that proclaim the truth.

This is where we are today, in a world gone mad, a world led by Satan, and a very large segment of the church that has fallen into apostasy!  It is a world that is attacking faithful believers in Jesus Christ, a world that is increasing persecution against Christians.

Christians are being attacked, humiliated, mocked, scorned, imprisoned, tortured, and even killed for their faith my friends.  To be a Christian in the world today means that you are a hater by the world’s standards, you are a terrorist, you are evil.

Whatever the world throws at us we must remain faithful and true to our Lord Jesus Christ!  And as the world becomes even darker we must stand firm and continue to proclaim the truth and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The only one that we can truly trust is Jesus Christ.

Do not be alarmed when the world turns against you because of your faith in Christ, put on the whole armor of God.  Believe the word’s of our Lord, write them on your heart, and live according to His word.  All things that the Lord has spoken will come to pass, every last jot and tittle, until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:18).

Ezekiel 12:28

“Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak will be done,” says the Lord God.’ “

While spiritual darkness permeates the world, the Spirit of the Lord is upon those that walk with Him.  Whatever darkness surrounds you know in your heart that the good Lord is with you and for you, even through the valley of the shadow of death!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!  Looking up!!!
