Here is new information about the Doce Fire from Jeff Andrews of the U.S. Forest Service, as of 8:30 p.m. Tuesday:
SIZE: 5,000 acres, 0% containment
LOCATION: Fire has progressed to the east from near Iron Springs, which is 8 miles west of Prescott. The blaze is now on the east side of Granite Mountain, and going into a flat area with wider fields
THREAT: Several hundred homes, but nothing lost yet.
CREWS: 300 firefighters, heavy air tankers, numerous large helicopters, more resources being called in, include a Type 1 team that will take over the fight tomorrow.
