A gigantic sinkhole that opened up under two Florida houses on Chalmer Terrace, in the Villages, has finally been filled in. Residents called firefighters Saturday 9 a.m. after the hole, slowly growing for several months, spread to be 60-feet wide and 50-feet deep.

A gigantic sinkhole that opened up under two Florida houses on Chalmer Terrace, in the Villages, has finally been filled in. Residents called firefighters Saturday 9 a.m. after the hole, slowly growing for several months, spread to be 60-feet wide and 50-feet deep.

Rescue crews and engineers rushed to stabilize the ground in the Villages when the hole, which had been filled several months ago, grew to be 60-feet wide and 50-feet deep on Saturday morning.

A Lauderhill driver was reportedly attempting to flee the scene of a hit-and-run attack involving a 68-year-old woman when she slammed into a hydrant, filling the streets with gushing water. What happened next was a double shocker when a nearby car was suddenly swallowed by a sinkhole.
