In Indianapolis, Thomas Emery shot girlfriend Tamika Jones-Fleming before turning the gun on himself. An 11-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl were inside the house when the adults began fighting at 11 p.m. Sunday. The boy called police at 6:45 a.m. Monday after stumbling upon the scene.

SARASOTA – UPDATE A Sarasota woman and her daughter died today in what police describe as a murder-suicide.
At about 9:45 a.m., police received a 911 call about a shooting in a home in the 4000 block of Old Bradenton Road in the Bayou Oaks neighborhood.
Inside the small, peach-colored house, officers discovered Sarah Harnish, 35, shot to death.
Paramedics airlifted the woman’s 17-month-old girl, Josephine Boice, to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. This afternoon, police reported that the child died as well. Police previously said the child was 10 months old.
The child’s father went for a scooter ride Sunday morning and, when he returned, heard gunshots and called 911, police said.
Detectives believe the mother shot her daughter and then killed herself. They have not said what type of firearm she used.
A neighbor who came out of her home to watch the crime scene said she did not know the family.
According to Sarasota County property records, the 65-year-old, stucco home is owned by Sean C. Boice, who bought the residence in 2002.

A Louisiana dad shot dead his teen football star son and stayed with his corpse for several days before killing himself, police believe.
Cops found the bodies of Matthew Tarto, 16, and his 52-year-old father Mark in their River Ridge home on Friday.
Both died from gunshot wounds to the head.
