A message on the school’s website says it is not a drill.
(SOURCE) GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina A&T State University is evacuating several buildings and advising other students to take shelter after a report of a man with a rifle on campus.
University spokeswoman Samantha Hargrove says campus police received a report of a gunman in the General Classroom Building at 9:57 a.m. She says there has not been any verification of the initial report or reports of injuries or shots being fired.
Police: 2 People Shot, Authorities Searching For Suspect
EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Nassau County police said they are searching for a suspect after two people were shot near the Roosevelt Field Mall in East Garden City.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. in an industrial area near the mall on South Street, police said.
Police said the suspect walked into a building, pulled out a gun and shot two people, 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera reported.
Few other details are known at this time, but police said the suspect fled the scene in a white Honda after the shooting.
Police have swarmed the area and authorities are positioned at every entrance and exit to the mall, WCBS 880′s Mike Xirinachs reported. The mall has been placed on lockdown, but police said it has not been evacuated.

DEVELOPING: A lockdown at Fort Knox in Kentucky was lifted around 7 p.m. after a shooting at the Army post, a spokesperson told WDRB.com.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Humans Resources Command, which has 3,800 employees.
According to WDRB.com, civilian law enforcement sources off the post said they were asked by military police to be on the lookout for a suspect in the case.
Mary Trotman, a spokesperson for the FBI in Louisville, said two agents had been dispatched to Fort Knox to assist with the investigation, Reuters reported. Trotman said the shooter or shooters had not been apprehended to her knowledge.
No information about casualties or injuries was immediately available.
There is heightened security coming in and out of the base, Fort Knox public affairs officer Ryan Brus told Fox News.
