Chief Timothy Anderson of the East Bay Regional Parks District Police Department said Sunday in a statement that the 23-year-old mother from San Jose had a history of depression and appeared to have self-inflicted knife wounds on her wrist.

BOSTON —Massachusetts State Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing newborn baby. 

Police tell NewsCenter 5 the child was taken from a vehicle while the child’s mother was inside the Coldstone Creamery at the Prudential Center Friday night.

The man fled in the vehicle with the infant in the back seat. Police say the infant is not his and he does not have permission from the infant’s mother to have the child.

The boy is believed to be in a gray Infinity with Mass. license plate 637SM3.

Police are looking for Damond Brown, 40, of 444 Harrison Ave. in Boston.

Brown is described as a black man, 6 feet 1 inches tall, 255 pounds, with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, grey shorts, and white and green sneakers.

The infant is identified as Jayden Warren, a 7-month-old black male, weighing 19 pounds. Jayden was last seen wearing Disney movie “Cars”-themed pajamas and white socks.

The vehicle was last seen around 7:48 p.m. in the area of 94 Belvidere Street in the South End.

According to Massachusetts State Police, Brown is reportedly in a domestic relationship with Jayden’s mother, however Jayden is not Brown’s biological father.

Police say Brown was not given permission to take Jayden from the 94 Belvidere St location.

A newborn baby girl died in China after her mother threw out of the window of a block of flats, the latest in a series of infanticide cases that have appalled the Chinese public and reignited debate about the country’s one child policy.

Surveillance footage aired by a local TV station showed a bag containing the newborn plummeting to the road outside the building in the north-eastern city of Harbin. After hitting the ground, it was run over by a car.

 The mother, identified by the local state Shenghuo Newspaper as an 18-year-old hairdresser with the surname Zhang, had given birth on Tuesday in the bathroom of a flat she shared with some 10 people.

 

Soon after the delivery she walked to a window between the second and third floors of the building and threw out the newborn.

A newborn baby dumped down a drain for more than 40 hours was rescued alive only after a neighbor heard “mewing” and thought an animal had become trapped.

The tiny two-day-old boy was plucked to safety from a shaft in a block of flats near Alicante, in Spain, at 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Weighing 4 pounds, 8 ounces, he was taken to the city’s general hospital for treatment for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries — including a broken arm.

Cops arrested his mom, 26, in hospital. She had been admitted on Friday after claiming to have suffered a miscarriage.

Diario Informacion reports she has confessed to abandoning the tot because she couldn’t afford to have an abortion.

Social services confirmed it would investigate the case before deciding on the baby’s future.

The mom is being held on suspicion of attempted murder, revealed a National Police spokesman.

The incident comes just one month after a baby was rescued from a sewage pipe in the eastern Chinese province of Zhijiang.

His 22-year-old mom claimed her baby had accidentally slipped into a toilet after she secretly gave birth.
