Two bystanders struck by NYPD cops opening fire on suspect near Times Square: sources

The 35-year-old man police were aiming for was acting erratically around the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd St. and 8th Ave., sources say. Witnesses heard four shots, and two women, ages 54 and 35, were struck.

Two bystanders were reportedly shot when NYPD police officers fired at a man on 8th Ave. and 42nd St. in Times Square on Saturday. A witness says this woman dropped to ground when the shots rang out.

SOURCE  –  Two NYPD cops opened fire at a man who was “agitated and flailing his arms” a block away from Times Square Saturday night — and instead struck a pair of innocent bystanders, cop sources said.

The 35-year-old man was acting erratically in the middle of Eighth Ave. at W. 42nd St. about 9:36 p.m. when he was confronted by the officers, witnesses and sources said.

A police source said the man “was agitated and flailing his arms.”

Witnesses heard four shots.
