An Amtrak train heading for New York City derailed early monday morning in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Passangers were stuck on the train for over 8 hours.

The train had 218 passengers and crew members on board but no injuries were reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A reported fire on an Amtrak train at Newark Penn Station caused major delays on two NJ TRANSIT lines Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported on an Amtrak train belonging to an unspecified line at the Newark depot Saturday afternoon, according to NJ TRANSIT.

There were no passengers aboard the train at the time of the fire, but there were 297 passengers waiting to board the train in Newark, according to Amtrak.
