Family members all lightly wounded after assailant hurls liquid through car window; attacker shot and seriously wounded
A teenage girl is hospitalized after 51-year-old man threw acid in her face because she refused his marriage proposal.
Police said the 15-year-old girl was lying in her bed when she heard a knock at her bedroom window Tuesday morning. When the girl opened the window the man threw acid in her face and then fled the scene, Northern District Police Spokesman Yehuda Maman said Tuesday.
Nazareth Police Chief Yossi Hamo said Tuesday his officers have set up a special task force to handle the case, which they are viewing with the utmost severity.
Maman said the woman is now at Rambam Hospital in Haifa in stable condition.
A spokesperson from Rambam Hospital said the girl is in stable condition, under anesthesia, and hooked up to a respirator in the children’s emergency ward.
The teen is suffering to wounds across her upper body, including to her eyes, and there is fear she could lose sight in one or both of her eyes. In addition, some of the acid entered the girl’s mouth and has caused her difficulty breathing.
