Is Jesus “Woke”?

Hobby Lobby is promoting a campaign about Jesus, “He gets us”.  I’ve personally viewed one of their videos about illegal immigrants coming into America, saying how He was like us, a refugee.

First of all, Jesus wasn’t a refugee.  He fled Bethlehem with His father and mother to Egypt as told to by an angel of the Lord, in order to keep Him safe from king Herod. 

No, Jesus Was Not a Refugee or an Illegal Immigrant

“However, one thing that goes completely overlooked or ignored is that, at that time, Judea and Egypt (then known as Aegyptus) were all within the borders of the Roman empire. Both countries were occupied land under Ceaser, and even though Herod was King of Judea, he ruled on behalf of Ceasar. Jesus and His family, while provincial citizens, were what we would consider Roman nationals who paid taxes to Rome though they weren’t necessarily citizens of the Roman state. Fleeing to Egypt, then under the personal control of Augustus himself, was on par to moving from New York and into Texas.”

This video is also inferring that all of these illegal immigrants are coming into America because of war and persecution, when in fact they are coming for a better life and free handouts!  They are being encouraged at the very least by our very own “woke” government to flee their nations and walk across the border and are being offered entitlements and benefits that even many Americans cannot receive!  

Hobby Lobby is making Jesus Christ out to be “woke”, to be accepting of people illegally entering into another nation.  This my friends would be a sin, and we all know that God is incapable of sinning!

Be careful what you hear about Jesus Christ, just because they use His name doesn’t mean that it’s the truth!  We are warned in scripture over and over again not to be deceived.

Matthew 24:4-5
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”

Matthew 24:11
“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”

2 Corinthians 11:14-15
“And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

Galatians 1:9
“As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”

Many people have turned to apostasy, the falling away from the truth.  They are teaching another Jesus and another gospel then the one that Jesus taught us!  Many in the world and even in the church are teaching that Jesus Christ is Woke!!!  This my friends is heresy and an abomination to the Lord!
