The Falling Away in these Last Days, so many are Deceived!

The bible tells us that in the last days many will be deceived, they will turn away from the faith (God’s truth) and instead give heed to deceiving spirits and the doctrines of demons!

1 Timothy 4:1

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,”

Who are these that fall away from the faith?  It has to be people that once believed the truth about God or else they couldn’t depart from the faith.  Are these people then Christians?  Or are they perhaps false Christians?  I don’t know, maybe both!  I do know that there are many people that profess to be Christian yet are not truly born again, and I also know that there are many actual Christians that are being led astray and believe lies!

Many churches teach a message of error, they teach that Jesus is not the only way, that all ways lead to heaven, that Jesus Christ is not God, that everyone will eventually get to heaven, and many are pushing the current narrative of the global elite, advocating for their flock to take the deadly Covid bioweapon, to wear face masks, and to social distance themselves, and are adhering to the globalists ideology of social justice and CRT!  There are many forms of being led astray, the ones that I mentioned are only a few of them.

Not only are true Christians being led astray, but the world is also being led astray, falling further away from the truth and following deceiving spirits.  

The apostle Paul told us that in the last days there will be a great falling away, a great apostasy before the rapture of the church!

2 Thessalonians 2:3

“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,”

Paul is explaining to the church that our gathering together with Christ (the rapture) will not happen until the falling away (apostasy) comes first.  

We are now seeing very large numbers of people falling away from the truth, both believers and unbelievers.  People are believing so many lies and deceptions that it makes your head spin!  But why are so many believers falling away?

The truth is that we are living in perilous times.

2 Timothy 3:1

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come”

The apostle Paul tells us how people will be in these last days and gives many examples.

2 Timothy 3:2-9

“For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, ⁴ traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! ⁶ For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, ⁷ always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁸ Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; ⁹ but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.”

The last days are very difficult and dangerous, and many people are feeling overwhelmed.  If a Christian is not firmly grounded in God’s word, then he or she can easily be led astray and fall into apostasy!  Falling away from the truth of God and His word is apostasy, it is believing another doctrine other than the one taught by God.

Galatians 1:9

“As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”

2 Corinthians 11:4

“For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!”

Many Christians don’t really believe that bible prophecy will come to pass, at least not all of it.  Therefore, they find it very difficult to stay grounded in the truth, especially when the world around them seems to be falling apart at the seams!  They don’t know what to do in these perilous times, they don’t know where to turn, and they seek the advice of the world rather than the word of God.

These last of the last days are overwhelming and treacherous, and they are getting worse by the day!  I believe that most Christians are not prepared for it or for what is soon coming upon the world.  Why?  Because they are not firmly grounded in the truth!  Many are simply ignorant of God’s word, and they don’t read it or study it, or rightly divide it.  Many more don’t believe the entire word of God to be true, they allegorize much of it, and they believe that a lot of it didn’t really happen nor is going to happen, that it’s merely in the bible as parables, as learning tools, as examples.  This is where they are in error, and as such will be led astray into apostasy!

It amazes me when Christians cannot believe what is happening in the world today, that things are getting as bad as they are.  The bible warned us that they would, it gave very specific details.  The fact is that things are not only going from bad to worse, but they are going to continue getting worse until the second coming of Jesus Christ!

2 Timothy 3:13

“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”

God told us not to follow the world but to follow Him. 

Matthew 16:24

‘Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” ‘

John 10:27

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.“

He told us that we are not of this world.  

John 15:19

“ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

The world will continue to get worse and worse by the day, evil men will continue to deceive exponentially, people will fall away from the faith and give heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons!  The world will be like the days of Noah, when people carried on with their lives but were wicked and evil, and God was sorry that He ever created mankind!  

If the days that we are now living in are not like the days of Noah yet, they are getting very close to it! 

We must stand firm in our faith of God, and we must endure to the end!

Hebrews 10:35-38

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. ³⁶ For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

³⁷ “For yet a little while,
And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.
³⁸ Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.” ‘

These are the last days, and as such we need endurance and faith!  We must live by our faith in God, seek God, trust God, thank God, praise God, and worship God alone!  Hallelujah!  Amen.
