The days in which we live are evil, they are filled with darkness, they are perilous!

The good Lord warned us of the last days and how dark they would be, but He also warned us to be aware, to be cautious, and not to be fools but to be wise!

Ephesians 5:15-16

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Wisdom is the ability to discern right from wrong, to have common sense and good judgment.  Being a fool is just the opposite, it is being unable to judge rightly, unable to discern, lacking sense or understanding.

When we see evil days approaching, we are to be wise, to discern the days and the times and understand them.  The fool neither discerns the times nor understands them and falls prey to wicked schemes, both unprepared and unknowing.

Matthew 16:2-3

He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.

The good Lord told us that we should be able to redeem the time, the signs of the times!  The bible gives us many warnings of the last days and the signs that will point to it.  As believers in Jesus Christ, we should all know what the signs are and how to discern them.

What are the signs of the times?  It is the increase and proliferation of many things all at the same time including the following (not all inclusive):

  • Deception
  • Evil
  • Lawlessness
  • Immorality
  • Godlessness
  • Hatred
  • Murder
  • Pride
  • War and Rumors of War
  • Pestilence
  • Famine
  • Earthquakes in various places
  • Apostasy
  • Persecution of Christians

These are only some of the things that will indicate the last days, the season of Christ’s return and the beginning of the Tribulation period, there are many more.  I see all of these things increasing, intensifying, and happening at the same time!

The bible tells us that the last days will be likened to the Days of Noah, and if we have read Genesis 6, then we know that every intent of man’s heart was evil continually, and the wickedness of man was great!

Be wise and discern the times!  Know the season and prepare for it.  Do not fall into the trap of the evil one but walk circumspectly.

As children of God, we are to be wise, we are to imitate God, we are to love and forgive others as God loves and forgives us.  We are the children of light; we are to shine our light into the world and expose the darkness.  We are to find out what is acceptable to the Lord and understand what His will is (Ephesians 5).

If you asked me, I would say that we are living in the season just before Christ’s return.  If you asked me how much time before the rapture of the church and the beginning of the Tribulation period?  I would say: “I have no idea!”  How long is a season to God?

With that being said, I don’t believe that Jesus would have given us these signs to watch for if He didn’t want us to know that it was soon!  Rather, He gave us these signs in order for us to know that it is very soon, so be prepared!  That’s the way I see it.  Why warn us now if He wasn’t coming for decades?  A day to God is as a thousand years to us, but God is warning us in our time, if He wasn’t then why tell us to watch for the signs in the first place?

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!
