WHO Calls Emergency Meeting Over Monkeypox, Warns Summer Parties and Festivals Could Accelerate Spread


The World Health Organization is reportedly convening an emergency meeting to discuss the recent outbreak of monkeypox, a viral infection more common to west and central Africa.

Europe has confirmed or suspected over 100 monkeypox cases in at least eight countries – Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The United States, Canada, and Australia have also reported monkeypox cases.
