Commentary By: Gordon King
The world is becoming a darker place and demonic attacks are increasing. Satan is the god of this world and age, he is against all that is holy and true.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
Satan (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, he does not stand in truth because there is no truth in him.
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.“
Satan is the father of all lies, he is a deceiver and deceives that masses that are perishing, he has blinded their eyes to the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Those of the world are of their father the devil, they follow him and his wicked and evil schemes. That is why we see so much evil, wickedness, and deception taking place now in the world. It’s because we are so close to the beginning of the Tribulation period and he knows that his time is short.
This is a war, a spiritual war my friends, yet, we can see it manifesting itself into the physical dimension.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
These spiritual attacks are real, much more real than the physical attacks, because they begin in the spiritual, and the spiritual will last forever while the physical will pass away. No one will live in the physical forever, no one, however, all of us will live on in the spirit, either in heaven or hell.
Satan and his demons are at war with God Almighty and what belongs to God Almighty, yes that includes all believers in Jesus Christ, all who are born-again. We are in a spiritual war between good and evil, between God Almighty and Satan.
Evil spirits, demonic spirits, attack those that are performing God’s will, and at times they are relentless! The more you do for the Lord the more attacks you will endure. This isn’t just a coincidence my friends, it’s because Satan actually believes that he will win in the end, even though he knows the bible well, probably more than any of us do.
Do you ever sense a darkness around you? Do you ever feel overwhelmed, anxious, doubtful? Do you feel as though walls are closing in all around you? Do you have a sense of doom, or a strong feeling that things are falling apart? Do you have any bad dreams? Does it seem as though you encounter one problem after another? Are you being tempted when you normally wouldn’t be? Have you suffered a loss? Do you have close family members that are a cause of your suffering? Are you suffering from pain or illness? Do all of these things seem to be happening at all once? And if any of these things are happening to you (and there could be many more), are you performing God’s will? If so, then it just may well be that you are under a satanic attack!
We know from scripture that Satan and his minions can and do attack us in many ways, take for instance Job. Job lost everything, his family, his livelihood, everything that he owned, but he also lost his good health. Job suffered and was in misery, yet, he was very close to God, he was godly and righteous according to the bible.
“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.”
Job was under satanic attack!
‘So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”
12 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” ‘
In everything that Job suffered he remained faithful to God. And I believe that this is a lesson for us all, even though we may suffer through satanic attacks, we must always remain faithful to our LORD God. It isn’t God that is attacking us, but Satan and his demonic spirits. Remember my friends, this is a spiritual war, and in a war there are attacks from the enemy. While this may not make our suffering any easier to stomach, it does help to know that if we are on the right track then we will be attacked.
Satan and his demons will attack us from every angle, from every aspect of our lives, and even through other people, situations, and circumstances. We can also open ourselves up to demonic attack if we allow ourselves to, but that’s a whole other topic of conversation. This post is about believers that perform God’s will being attacked in the end times that we are now in.
So what can we do if we are under satanic attack? Do as the apostle Paul told us to do:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Keep your faith in God, pray in the Spirit without ceasing, and know that God is with you and for you. Stay in God’s word where there is power and life, comfort and encouragement!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
The times that we are now living in are very dark, and getting darker by the day. Deception is increasing, evil is increasing, and demonic attacks upon the righteous are increasing! These my friends are all signs of the end times, signs of the closeness of Christ’s return for us. And with the intensity and frequency of these signs I can hardly believe that His return for His bride could be too much longer!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
