Our Trials and Tribulations! It’s all about our Faith!!!

Commentary By:  Gordon King

The world is at odds with the things of the Lord, it is in direct opposition to what is righteous and holy, and as such it is at odds with the children of God!  These times are intensifying, trials and tribulations abound, and many times we find ourselves at the mercy of those who seek to do us harm.

It’s times like these that all of us need prayers, for these are the times that will test our faith, times that bring us to our knees and we cry out Abba, Father in heaven, hear my prayers!  Listen to my voice, have mercy on my soul, and by your grace may I be lifted from the depths of my misery and tribulations!  Shelter me under the shadows of your mighty wings, fill me with your joy and peace, that I may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You are the God of hope, the God of joy and peace, and by Your Holy Spirit may I abound in Your hope, joy, and peace!  It’s times like these that we seek You oh Lord as our refuge and our strength!

Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

You are our very present help in times of trouble, therefore we will not fear!  And the good Lord said:

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for You are with me!  Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.

Psalm 23:6

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

And even though my afflictions may abound You are with me, and even though the world is at odds with me I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!  Amen.

As I sit in the stillness of the night wondering what will be the outcome of my dilemmas, I search for answers as to why, as to how, and as to when?  Yet in my heart and in my spirit I know that the only true answers come from God Almighty up above, the Spirit of Truth!

John 16:13-15

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

There is nothing that God does not know, and He will guide us into all truth!  We must ask, we must be quiet, and we must listen.  The good Lord may not always tells us the whys, hows, or whens, but as His children He will make all things work together for our good.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Nothing in the world will last forever, even our trials and our tribulations, even our afflictions which are only temporary.  But the things of God, spiritual things will last for eternity!  We must keep our eyes on the prize, on God Almighty and heaven up above, the things which are not seen!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Let us remember that the testing of our faith produces patience.

James 1:2-8

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

And if we lack wisdom then we are to ask God who gives to all liberally and without reproach!  It is by our faith that we produce patience, and it is by our faith that we are pleasing to God, for without faith it is impossible to please Him!

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently.

Our faith is belief and trust in God, and our lack of faith is unbelief and trust in God, therefore we must have faith to believe.  Trials and tribulations test our faith, it either strengthens our faith or it weakens it.  Since we have faith in God we have become the children of God, and as children of God we are His beloved and cherished possessions!

We have been called out of the darkness and into the light, we have been called to share our faith, to proclaim the glory of God!  And through the darkness His glory is manifest, through our trials and tribulations as our faith is tested we either shine in the darkness or fall, and at times we all fall.  But the question is what do we do about it after the fall?  Do we get back up and trust in God and His ways and give Him the glory?

It’s really all about our faith in God, that’s what it’s all about my friends.  It’s about increasing our faith and glorifying God Almighty!

Remember, nothing in this world will last forever, it’s all fading away.  But the things which are unseen, the things of God shall last for eternity!  Amen.

Jesus said “I am the the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me”.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!
