World View of Faithful Christians

Commentary By:  Gordon King

The world as we know it is quickly coming to an end!  There is soon coming a time of great tribulation, a time of God’s wrath upon the world, a time for people and especially the Jews to repent and return to the Lord.  It will be a time like no other, a time of God’s wrath upon the wicked, but also a time of unrelenting evil unleashed by Satan!  At the end of this period the Lord will return to earth, He shall descend from the clouds riding on a white horse followed by His armies in heaven!  He will defeat the armies of the beast with the sword of His mouth.  After this Jesus Christ will rule and reign on earth for one thousand years!  Then comes one last rebellion followed by the Great White Throne Judgment, then the earth and heavens shall be burned up and replaced with a new heaven and a new earth!  A new city shall descend from heaven, the New Jerusalem, the tabernacle of God, the holy city!  We shall dwell with God and God with us, there shall be no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow or crying, no more pain, for the old things have passed away!

Many people of the world believe that Christians who believe such things are fanatical, that we are somehow dangerous!  They think that we are trying to bring about such things, that if we do what God says is righteous and holy then we are in fact attempting to bring about the apocalypse!

First of all the world does not really even know what the true meaning of apocalypse is, the following is the definition of apocalypse when googled:

  • 1.
the complete final destruction of the world, as described in the biblical book of Revelation.
  • 2.
an event involving destruction or damage on an awesome or catastrophic scale.

The word apocalypse is actually a Greek word meaning the unveiling.

Strong’s Greek 602:An unveiling, uncovering, revealing, revelation. From apokalupto; disclosure.

The apocalypse is actually the unveiling of what is to come given by Jesus Christ Himself to the apostle John.

Revelation 1:1-3

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

The apocalypse is not disaster and destruction, it is not the end of the world, it is the unveiling of what is coming to the world and to those who are saved, a vision of the future given to us by God.  However, the unveiling does tell us what will happen to the world and to the earth, that the earth will eventually be burned up and that a new heaven and a new earth will be created by God.

Those who follow Christ and believe that the bible is 100% accurate, that God is who He says that He is and can be trusted in all things, also believe what God tells us about the end times!  We believe the bible, all of the bible to be the true, infallible word of God Almighty.  With that being said we believe that the book of Revelation was given to us by God so that we would know what is coming in the not to distant future.

It is so important to God that we know what is coming in the book of Revelation that He promises to bless those who read, who hear, and who keep the things written in the book!

So the world believes that we are fanatical, that we are over the top, that we are dangerous to society because we believe what God says!  They believe that we think that we can bring about what they say is the apocalypse by doing certain things, such as supporting Israel or moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.  I say hogwash!!!  That’s a bunch of malarkey!

There is nothing, not one thing that we as Christians could do that would either speed up God’s plans or slow them down, not one darn thing!  But the world believes that we think that we can.  I wonder what they’ve been smoking?!!!

Just because we believe what God says in scripture does not mean that we want destruction, nor does it mean that we are trying to speed things up regarding the end times.  Of course I know that there are many of us who would like the rapture to take place at any time, and it could for that matter!  It’s not a matter of what we want, but a matter of what God says will happen, and it will regardless of what anyone says or does!

They think that because we preach from the book of Revelation that we don’t care about human life, that we are cold blooded, and that we want destruction, when that couldn’t be further from the truth!

Most of them miss the message of the cross, they cannot understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, nor can they see the truth!  They have been warned about what is coming upon the earth, foretold about the coming destruction that God Almighty says is coming, yet they still do not believe.

The wisdom of man is foolishness to God, and his ignorance shall lead to his destruction!

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The world is lost, it is blinded to the truth because it has pushed God away, it has replaced the wisdom of God with the wisdom of man.  And because man has pushed God away He has given them over to a debased mind, they follow the current ruler of this world, the god of this age, Satan!  And Satan has blinded their eyes to the truth.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Those of the world despise the things of God, they are in rebellion to Him, and they hate being told what God approves of and what He doesn’t.  They have replaced what is righteous and holy with what is wicked and evil!  They are also in rebellion to His children, Christians, and they will do what they can to stop us from spreading the truth!

As times get darker the persecution of Christians will intensify, lies and twisting of the truth against us will increase dramatically.  They don’t want to hear what we have to say, and the censorship of Christians is not far off, it’s only a matter of time!

The world does not see things from God’s view, they don’t understand that Christians want the best for them, to lead them away from destruction not further into it!  But in doing so we become evil doers in the eyes of the world, our righteous acts are evil deeds to them, and they view us as wicked and dangerous to society!  It’s like what the old testament prophet Isaiah warned us about.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Take heed my friends, as the times are quickly becoming more and more wicked and evil.  Stand firm in your faith of Jesus Christ, hold fast to His word, listen to the Holy Spirit within, and do not be dismayed, for God will never leave us nor forsake us!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. I agree Gordon… we can see what is happening and trying to warn others but they just want to shoot the messenger! We must keep on warning and preaching The Gospel faithfully though. Who knows what will come to the mind of the unbelievers after the Rapture all we do know for sure is the God’s word will not return to Him void , it will accomplish all that it was sent for.

    God bless

  2. Thanks for your comment Christine!

Thank you for your encouragement and I pray that you are well!

Jesus told us that the world hates us because we are of Christ, because we are chosen out of the world for His name’s sake. The world first hated Jesus Christ before it hated us, they persecuted Christ and they will also persecute us. They hated Him without a cause and they will also hate us without a cause!

    John 15:18-25
” ‘If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ “

    God bless sister! Maranatha!
