Satan is Seeking Our Destruction through the World!

Commentary By:  Gordon King

As things in this world heat up and become more wicked and evil we must remember who we are in Christ.  It’s not a matter of if things in this world will get worse but how fast it will happen!

The world is a mess, it is being led by Satan himself, the prince of the power of the air, the wicked one, the father of all lies, the ruler of this world.  And as such the world will draw closer to his evil ways and further and further away from the truth of Jesus Christ.

As this happens, and it is happening now, we as believers in Jesus Christ will suffer persecution, we will suffer trials and tribulations, and we will be surrounded by those of the world.  All of us will be subject to these wicked ways, we will be pressured to succumb to their sinister schemes, however, we must always stay focused on our Savior Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ has given us the power to withstand the wiles of the devil, to overcome his wickedness.  We must persevere to the end as faithful servants, we must continue to run the race to the finish line, to hold-fast to our faith, so that one day He will say to us “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

This is where many are led astray, yes, even the elect!  They do succumb to the wiles of the devil, they believe lies and doctrines of demons.  They fail to keep their eyes on the prize, to stay focused on God Almighty and the things of heaven up above.

Ours is not of this world but of heaven up above, ours is not of the flesh but of the spirit!  The things of this world are temporary and passing away, but the things from above are spiritual and shall last for eternity!

Do not put your hope in worldly things, in worldly possessions, in people, but rather put your hope in the only real hope that there is Jesus Christ and our eternal salvation!

It is easy to give into temptations, to be swayed by the world into compromise, into following their wicked ways.  It takes faith to believe, and it takes faith to stand firm in Jesus Christ, knowing that His ways are true and righteous.

As believers we may not always feel saved, we may not always feel God’s presence, but do not be dismayed, do not be discouraged, for the good Lord has told us and promises to never leave us nor forsake us!  He promises to make all things work together for the good of those that love Him, for all those who are called according to His purpose!  So if you just don’t feel it do not despair, for salvation in Jesus Christ is not a feeling, it is a relationship with God!

Our salvation is a relationship with God Almighty, with Jesus Christ Himself!  It’s not about feeling a certain way, it’s about our connection with God, our standing with God.  And once we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ then we are His possessions forever more!

Satan often uses doubt to discourage us, to diminish our faith in God, this is one of his main ploys.  And at times all of us have some doubts, but they can be quickly diminished when we focus on God!  Remember, we are in a battle, a spiritual battle with the forces of darkness and they will use every tactic at their disposal to try and take us down.  But, we have even greater weapons at our side, we have the Holy Spirit within, we have the power of God Almighty inside of us, and we have the power of prayer!

Do not belittle the power that prayer has in our lives and the lives of others.  Rather, use it to the best of your ability!  Prayer is a very powerful weapon against the enemy, use it everyday, use it without ceasing!

God loves you, and He shall lose none that come to Him!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Thank you Gordon for your encouragement and exhortation.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
    Amen

    God bless you!
    Christine
