A Culture of Death!

AP/Esteban Felix

Commentary By:  Gordon King

The world is full of evil and hatred, it is hell-bent on promoting a culture which leads to death and destruction, it is in fact a culture of death!

Immorality leads to death and destruction, when sin abounds death is sure to follow.  The penalty for sin is death and death is the direct result of sin.  Anyone in their right mind cannot condone sin and immorality for by doing so they are rebelling against God who created them.

Those who say that there is no God are fools, they claim to be wise, but because God has shown Himself to all men yet they choose not to believe they are without excuse.

Romans 1:18-23

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

And because they have said in their hearts that there is no God, God has given them over to a debased mind, to do things which are unrighteous and unholy, to do things which are evil, wicked, dark and sinister.

Romans 8:1:28-32

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

People of the world do things in rebellion to God, they do things which are evil, dark, and which lead to death, they do things which are ungodly and unholy.

We live in a culture of death, a culture which takes the life of an unborn baby and calls it a good thing, a culture which now seeks to even take the lives of unwanted babies that are actually born into this world!  This sickens me!  It is evil and wicked to take an innocent life, it is ungodly and unholy, especially the life of a child, unborn or born.

Our culture says that there are many ways to heaven, even goes as far as to say that everyone will get to heaven one day.  This is a culture of lies, a culture of deception, a culture which leads to death not life!

Darkness in the world abounds and it is becoming darker by the day.  But where darkness abounds grace much more abounds.

Romans 5:20-21

Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

As the world turns darker the light in the world becomes that much brighter.  As evil abounds the truth of God’s word becomes even more evident.  And as death becomes the norm of society life through Jesus Christ shines as the only way to eternal life, the only escape from a world gone mad.

It’s only a matter of time before the world is completely engulfed in a mindset of death and destruction, before society outlaws Christianity, before Jesus Christ comes to rapture His church!

As the world gets darker and darker look up, for our redemption draws near my friends!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Hi Gordon
I was praying recently and going before The Father with a humble and contrite heart after remembering some of the sinful things done in my youth and younger years. I then saw a picture of a old building being demolished and I had these thoughts at the same time. when a building is to be demolished it is called ‘condemned’ and if it is not to be condemned then it is approved! Wow! I believe The Lord was showing me my old life (old building) had been condemned and demolished but my new life was approved. We must walk in The Spirit and not give way to the flesh or believe the accuser, although the flesh will wage war against the Spirit whilst we are still living in this earthly tent and we will have this struggle because of what we once were condemned, what we are now in Christ is fully approved, how wonderful it will be to receive our glorified bodies and be free of the struggle.

    God bless you

    • Thanks for your comment Christine!

That is a great analogy sister, I love it! All of us are condemned to hell without Christ, but once we have a relationship with Him then and only then are we approved for eternal life in heaven, I never really thought about it that way as in relation to a building being condemned or approved, it makes it much easier for an unbeliever to see it this way.

I don’t know why we still have to struggle with the flesh after we are born-again but we do, although I wish it wasn’t so. You know that the closer we get in our relationship with Christ the more that Satan and His demons will attack us. We already have to contend with our flesh, but we also have to contend with evil spirits! Wow, we have an awful lot to deal with in this life, but with Christ we can do and accomplish all things, all things according to His will, Amen.

None of us are perfect, no not one, but one day those who belong to Jesus Christ will be made perfect, I can hardly wait! Being in a glorified body with Christ forever will be a dream come true!

      God bless! Maranatha!
