Rapidly Declining Morals and Values!

The forces of darkness are closing in around us, you can see it on the streets, in the media, and by the people who you meet.  Immoral and unrighteous values are growing by leaps and bounds, and the times are changing faster than you can blink an eye!

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled all around us, the signs of the times are here in plain sight.  Yet so many people either don’t see it or choose not to see it!  I believe that most choose to ignore it, even many believers.

Have you noticed that society is changing its norms and values to what just a few years ago would have seemed outrageous, yet now they almost seem normal?  And this is the ploy of evil spirits, to make sin seem normal, but also to take what is righteous and holy and make it seem evil and wicked.  And what were we told by the old testament prophet Isaiah?

Isaiah 5:20

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!“

This is exactly what is happening now!  Evil is being replaced as good and good as evil.  If you can’t see it happening then you need to open your eyes! 

When people turn from God, when they seek their own ways over God’s ways, then God will turn them over to a debased mind!  And isn’t this exactly what we see happening?  The minds of people have become debased, they cannot think clearly nor make sound judgments.  It’s as if they are being led by the blind.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, ⁴ whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.“

Satan has blinded the eyes of those who are perishing, they cannot see the truth nor the error of their ways because they have chosen not to.  God will not force anyone to follow Him nor will He force His will upon them.  But, if they continue to choose to ignore Him, if they continue to push Him away, then He will turn them over to evil spirits!  And this is where we are in America today, in fact the world today.  Evil spirits lead most people in their daily lives, they lead them, guide them, and cause them to fall even further away from the Lord!

We can only serve one of two masters, either God or Satan.  And if we push God away then we will in fact serve Satan!  So many people have pushed God away to their own demise.  They cannot see where they are headed, in fact they actually believe that they are doing the right thing, they believe that they are headed in the right direction when in reality they are headed for destruction!  This is the way of the world my friends, and it is becoming much more apparent with each passing day.

Reject God and He will reject you, honor God and He will honor you!  It’s really that plain and simple, yet so many choose to reject God.  People have decided that they know best, that they know better than God does.  They seek a better life yet run after desolation, they believe that they know how to get to heaven their own way, yet they are headed for eternal destruction!  It’s like a child thinking that he knows better than his parents, he rejects their words and does things his way, then he finds himself in a world of trouble.  Most people think that they know better than God and they do things their own way, then they find themselves in a world full of trouble!

When we place our own values on life, values which are in direct contradiction to God’s, then we are telling God that we know better than He does.  We are creating false religions, idols, and worshiping false gods.  Even if we are a Christian and we add to or take away from the truth of God’s words then we are creating a false religion.  We cannot change the word of God to meet our own needs, if we do then we are not following God but doctrines of demons!  And we see this happening today, it is apostasy in the church!  It often makes me wonder if these people were ever born-again in the first place!  But that is between them and God.

We cannot change people, we cannot change their minds or their hearts.  But what we can do is show them the way, show them the right way.  We can shine a light out of the darkness, we can be a path which leads to eternal salvation.  It isn’t ours to save people, that’s God’s business.   But it is ours to show the truth, to spread the truth, to share God’s love!  It isn’t always an easy task, but no one said that it would be.  Sometimes we only need to give a warm smile, or perhaps a welcoming pat on the back.  While at other times it may require us to help someone in need, or to comfort someone who is hurting.  And it may be that they are open to hearing the good news of Jesus Christ! 

Most people will not be open to hearing the gospel until they are at the lowest of lows, when they are desperate, when they see that the path that they are on is leading them nowhere but down.  When people are living it up, when they are doing what they want and all seems to be going well, these are the times when they mostly reject Christ, when they cannot see the error of their ways, when they don’t believe in sin, when they don’t believe that they are sinning.  In order for a person to accept Jesus Christ they must first admit that they have sinned!  They must be able to see the error of their ways, and they must want to change.  If they don’t then they cannot accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  They may not want to hear the truth from us, but we can plant seeds, whether or not they grow is not up to us.

And this is where we find ourselves in the world today, most people cannot see the error of their ways, they do not believe that they are sinning, nor do they wish to change.  They are led by evil spirits, deceived into believing that they are on the right path, when they are actually headed for eternal destruction!

As Christians, we must pray for the lost to see the error of their ways, for the good Lord to open their eyes to the truth, for Him to soften their hearts and be able to hear the good news.  It is only then that they will be able to hear and see the truth of Jesus Christ, it is only then that they will be able to accept Him as their Lord and Savior!  Just like the criminal on the cross next to Christ when He was crucified.  At first the criminal was mocking Christ, then he stopped and had a change of heart.  He saw the error of His ways, He then accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior.  And Jesus told him: “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”.  It takes a change of heart to accept Christ, and only God can change the heart, but even so it takes the will of that person to make the choice of whether or not to accept Jesus Christ.

The world’s values and morals continue to decline at a rapid pace, and they will continue to do so until Christ returns to earth.  We cannot change this it will happen, and the more intense it gets leads me to believe that the return of Christ for the church is imminent, even at the door my friends, at the door!

Be ready, watching, and look up, for our redemption draws near!
