Obeying the Will of God!

Commentary By: Gordon King

I’ve often felt like why in the world would God use me for His will, for His purpose?  I mean, I’m not the best at what I do, I’m not a theologian nor have I been to Seminary school, nor am I a professional writer.  There are many, many other people who could do a much better job at what I do for the Lord than I do.   Yet the good Lord chose me for a specific purpose, to perform His will.

There are people much better suited than I am who could do a much better job than I do, yet God still chose me, it’s not because I am better, it’s not because I am smarter, it’s because I am available!  God chose me to do what I do for Him because I was willing to do it!

God doesn’t choose the smartest, the prettiest, the richest, or the best dressed, God chooses those who are ready and willing to do what He asks them to do!   God chooses the weak to shame the strong!  God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble!

When God told me to start spreading His word through this website I was very weak, I was broken at my core, I was hopeless and helpless relying solely on God.   I was ripe for doing what God asked of me, I was at His mercy, in His grace, and humbled beyond belief!   This is exactly why God used me as He has.   I had no former biblical education, did not grow up in a Christian home, nor did I spend much time in church.   But God knew that I was a prime candidate to perform His will as He willed.

God is searching the hearts for those that are humble, ready, and willing to perform His will, to do whatever it is that He asks of them!  You notice that I didn’t say able?   That’s because we don’t have to be able, if God asks us to do something for Him then He will work through us, He will provide what we need to accomplish His will.

This is what God wants from us, to humble ourselves before Him, to lay down our lives and perform His will, to follow Him, to walk with Him. It’s not enough to be saved, we are to love, honor, worship, praise, thank, and obey God!  This is God’s will for each and every one of us.

If you think that you are not good enough to perform God’s will then think again!  If you think that you are not smart enough, not talented enough, not outgoing enough, then think again!   You are exactly who God wants to perform His will!  He isn’t looking for the best, He is looking for those who are willing!   He is looking for those who humble themselves before Him.

God wants to use us when we are at our weakest, when we think that all is lost, when the world tells us that we can’t do it!  This is when God pours out His grace upon us.

I never in a million years would have ever thought that I would be writing a blog, especially one like this!  But God works in mysterious ways, and His ways are not our ways.

My point to all of this is that if you humble yourself, if you tell God yes, that you are willing to perform His will, then He will use you in remarkable ways!  It isn’t about how well you can do something that matters, but if you are willing.

I have to say that writing this blog has been a blessing to me in so many ways!  God has used it to bring my relationship with Him even closer, to give me more wisdom, clarity, and understanding of His word.   He has used it to teach me, to give me discernment, and to make me even more humble.  But He has also used it to bless others, and in doing so it has blessed me beyond measure.  He has used it for me to build new relationships with my brothers and sisters in Christ, and this to me is invaluable!  I absolutely cherish my relationships with all of my brothers and sisters in Christ who I have grown to know and love over the years!

By me obeying the Lord and performing His will as He has willed has blessed me more than I could ever imagine.  If I had not obeyed the good Lord then I am not sure what my life would be like today.   I have been through some very dark places, places which take people down to the lowest of lows.  But through it all God has seen me through, has been walking by my side, and I have come out victorious!

I can tell you this for certain, if God calls you to do something and you obey Him with a humble heart, then He will bless you beyond good measure!

Listen to God, humble yourself before Him, and obey Him.  This is His will for you.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  5. Yes, your blog has been a blessing to me as well! Last year you posted a commentary about many of the recent prophecies that had been fulfilled in our lifetime. I condensed it a bit, printed it out on nice paper and tucked it inside Christmas bags filled with a Bible and other items to distribute to the homeless, leave on park benches and other places around town, place in mailboxes etc so you may never know the extent to which your writing gets around and blesses people! If you feel lead to rewrite or add to that same post the many recent fulfilled prophecies in 2018, I will probably do the same thing again this year with it.
In any case, thanks for being faithful to what the Lord has called you to and giving me a bit of a reminder on being willing and available, if not necessarily able!
