The Most Important Things in This Life!

Commentary By: Gordon King

Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, and with all of your mind!  This is the first and greatest commandment!  Amen.

As believers in Jesus Christ this is what we should be doing daily, this should be not only our mindset but our life!  Love God, put Him first before all things, worship God, praise God, thank God!  Give all of the glory to God Almighty!

If I had to tell someone what the most important thing in this life is that is what I would tell them!  From this one commandment comes all of the rest, including our salvation!

When we set our heart, our soul, and our mind first and foremost on God, then everything else will fall into place.  When we focus on God and not on the things of this world, then great things will happen and we will be ready to overcome the world!

When we love God this way then we are in His favor, when we love God this way we will hear Him, will build a solid relationship with Him, and we will know that He is with us and for us!

The world is so full of distractions, deceptions, lies, wickedness and evil, so much so that it really doesn’t take much for a person of faith to be led astray if he or she is doubtful about God’s word and His promises, even if it’s just a short walk.  However, once away it becomes even easier to walk further away from God!  This is very dangerous territory, away from God.

Once deceived by Satan he has us in his grips, right where he wants us!  Once we doubt what God can and will do in our lives then Satan is able to lead us astray by planting thoughts into our minds, by creating situations in our lives that bring us away from God.  This is a very dangerous place to be my friends, very dangerous indeed!  I do not believe for one minute that a born again person can lose his or her salvation, however, I do believe that his or her life while here on earth can be absolutely miserable!

This is why it is so vitally important to build a strong relationship with Jesus, to always trust in Him, to believe what He says and in His promises to us!  It is so important to stay in His word, to keep it written in our hearts and in our minds, to allow it to penetrate our very soul.  And once it is there we must use it, we must believe it and apply it to our lives!  There is no compromising God’s word, there is no relationship between the world and God, for God is a jealous God, and He will not be mocked!  Judgment is coming to those who compromise God’s word, to those who seek to change it, to alter it in any way, to remove it or replace it!

The most important thing in this life here on earth is our relationship with God Almighty, Jesus Christ!  We can believe that Jesus is God, we can even believe that He is the only way to heaven, but if we do not know God then it is all vanity!  If we are not born again then all is lost and we are headed for eternal destruction!

Heaven is real folks, but guess what?  So is hell!!!  It is our choice between eternal life in heaven with God, or eternal destruction in hell without God.  We all have the choice to make, each and every one of us, unless a person is without understanding such as a child, mentally challenged person, etc., and they have never been at the point in their life of being able to understand, I believe God will take them into heaven.

Love God, know God by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ (God) as your Lord and Savior, it’s the only way to heaven!  Don’t let anyone fool you into believing that there are many ways to heaven, it’s just not the truth!  Don’t let anyone fool you into believing that hell is not real, again it’s not the truth!

If you are reading this then you have been told, you know the truth whether or not you choose to believe it!  You have heard the words of the Lord, repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved!

Receive Jesus Christ now as your Lord and Savior!  Choose Eternal Life!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Hi Gordon,
]I really wanted to share today a verse with you because it is a confirmation of your post and also of a flash vision I received recently as I was just waking from sleep. I saw a road direction sign and on one of the direction markers it said the word ‘CLEAVE’. I know it was a message telling me to stick like glue to The Lord but today my heart leapt as I read this verse as it confirmed the message which I believe is a good direction sign for all the Church in these perilous times.

    Verse of the Day
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
    Deuteronomy 13:4 – KJV

    God bless!

    • Thanks for your comment Christine!

Isn’t it funny how the Lord speaks to us in so many different ways? He gives you a flash vision and then it is confirmed by my post! This is definitely the good Lord speaking. The Lord also spoke to me several different times all within one week before I lost my job. Of course at the time I just thought that they were my own thoughts in my head, but looking back I now see that it was actually the Lord speaking to me! He was preparing me for what was to come, most likely so that I wouldn’t be let down so hard, so that when I was told then it would be like oh, okay, I saw it coming, I knew it was going to happen, and that’s pretty much how it went. On the other hand, if I had no pre-informed knowledge of it then it would have been a terrible shock to me! I knew before hand that it was coming, but I also knew that He had prepared something much better for me in it’s place.

So many Christians do not listen to God, they don’t hear His voice, but God speaks to us in many ways, through visions, placing thoughts into our minds, by circumstances, by hearing other people, by reading something at the right time, etc. What we all need to do is practice hearing and become more adept at knowing when it is God speaking to us and when it isn’t. The more we do it the better we get at it! He gives us what we need when we need it, and He does all things for our good.

      God bless Christine! Maranatha!
