Increasing Persecution!

Commentary By: Gordon King

It’s the eleventh hour and as time approaches midnight it is becoming darker and darker, evil in the world escalates, and the battles not only in the world but in another realm rage on!  This evil is fighting against what is righteous and holy, what is ordained by God, the things which pertain to heaven and to Jesus Christ.

Persecution against God’s people continues to soar, we will not be free from persecution but will endure persecution!  If the world hated Jesus Christ then it will also hate us, and if it condemned Him then it will also condemn us.

John 15:18-25

If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.

The world hates us because we stand for Christ, no other reason than that, it hated Him without a cause and it will hate us also without a cause!

There are those in the world who do not care if we worship God as long as we don’t use the name Jesus Christ.  They don’t want us to use His name because He came to condemn sin, because He is the truth, He is the only way to heaven, because without Him we cannot have life!

Isn’t it sort of funny that you can use the name Buddha, Muhammad, Kirshna, or that of any other religion in the world and they are fine with it, but use the name Jesus Christ and they become outraged!  We can pray in any other name and it is accepted in the world, but not the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only true God of the universe.

And the Jews, why are they so hated and persecuted in the world?!  It’s not because they are a threat to the world, not because they have more than the world has, no, it’s because they are God’s chosen people, plain and simple!

Christians and Jews are two of the most persecuted people in the world today.  Two faiths which are united by one commonality, the God of the bible.  Now I am not stating that the Jews are the same as Christians, of course not, for most of the Jews do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but nonetheless, we are both God’s people.

A person must accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior no matter what else they believe or don’t believe. We must believe that Jesus Christ was not merely a good man or teacher, but that He was God in the flesh!  However, we must not forget that our Savior came from the Jews, our salvation came from the Jews, Jesus Christ was Jewish!

As time marches on we will see greater persecution, more intense battles between good and evil.  We must not think it strange when we are persecuted by the world for we know that it will happen!

1 Peter 4:12-14

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

When we are persecuted we should rejoice knowing that we are partaking of Christ’s sufferings.  We are blessed when we are reproached for Christ’s namesake, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon us!

The world is blind to the things of the Spirit, it does not know God or His ways, they know only of the physical things in this world but not of the heavenly.  They are led astray by doctrines of demons, they are blinded to the truth, so we must not be shocked when we see that they do not understand our ways.  They cannot see the world the way that we can nor can they understand our ways, but we can see both the ways of the world and the things of the Spirit, we can see heavenly things while they cannot.

Stay strong in the Lord, know His ways and write them upon your heart and the hearts of your children!  Strengthen your faith with the word of God, remember the promises of God and the blessings that He has bestowed upon you.  Reflect upon what God has done for you in your life, and know that if He did it before He can do it again and He will!

It isn’t our job to change the hearts and minds of unbelievers, that job is God’s!  Our job is to share His message, to love those who come against us, to pray for those who persecute us, to bear the fruit of the Spirit, to shine a light into an ever darker world.

The time is soon coming for the good Lord to rapture the church, there is nothing that must occur in scripture for the rapture to occur, it is imminent!  It could happen at any time, and while we are waiting we are to occupy, stand tall and firm in our faith.  Let us love one another, let us share what God has given to us, let us not fall or falter, for our Lord is coming soon, maybe much sooner than most of us believe!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  2. Thanks for your comment Tonytarr11!

We are at the end of an age, a dispensation of time, the church age. This is why we are seeing the increase in evil in the world, the increased persecution of God’s children and of God Himself! We are close to the beginning of a new dispensation, however this time is for the Jews, a time of Jacob’s trouble. It won’t be long before our redemption in Christ is completed, before we are with the Lord in heaven. How awesome is that?!

    God bless! Maranatha!

  5. Thanks for your comment Joan Mulhern!

Jesus came to save the world not to condemn it, He came to save all people. As far as the animals go, I am most certain God has that figured out. I know that all people will not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but I do pray that He opens all of their eyes and ears, that He softens their hearts, and that they all would come to salvation in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! In the end it’s their choice to make.

    God bless! Maranatha!
