It’s not what you know it’s who you know! Isn’t this true in life? How many people land a job not because of what they know but because of who they know? This to me just doesn’t seem fair. You may be the best qualified applicant for a job, but because someone who is much less qualified actually knows the person doing the hiring they land the position. Where is the justice in that?!
This position of who you know carries over into life in general, if you know the right people then you can get things you both need and want, perhaps if you don’t even deserve it!
How many people get a great deal on a new car because they know the salesman or the dealer? Or perhaps a loan officer is much more lenient on you for being late on a payment than he would be otherwise just because he knows you. This seems to be how it is in the world whether it is right or wrong, it’s just the way it is!
Not only do you get what you don’t deserve, but people also have more mercy on you if you know them. They may forgo enforcing penalties upon you if they know you, they may not write you up for being continually late for work, or the court may be lenient on you if the judge knows you.
My point is that life isn’t always fair, that if we know people then we can get what we don’t deserve and not get what we do deserve!
This isn’t only true with the world my friends, it is true with God, the difference is that with God it is fair, in fact more than fair, supernaturally fair!
God has mercy upon us when we don’t deserve it, withholding what we do deserve, but He also gives to us what we don’t deserve. However, the only way for this to work is to know God. When we know God then He withholds our just punishment, instead He gives us what we don’t deserve, forgiveness and eternal life!
If we don’t know God then we will be punished, we will die a second death, an eternal death in hell! But God loves us so much that if we accept Him, if we want to know Him, then He will withhold the punishment that we deserve, and instead He will give us a gift that we don’t deserve!
It’s not about what we know, it’s all about who we know! And we cannot know God if we don’t accept His Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior! When we do this then we know God, then we have a relationship with God, He will have mercy and grace upon us forever.
However, we have to know someone, and if we don’t know God then we know Satan! Satan gives us what we do deserve, he doesn’t hold back! At first it may seem like he is giving you a good deal, but it turns out to be a lemon, the deal always turns bad. He never gives us what we don’t deserve, but what we do deserve, eternal destruction! His lies and deceit always lead us to death, they always bring us to the bottom of the pit alongside of him, he doesn’t want to spend eternity alone in hell!
So, who do you know? Is it the god of this world, Satan? Or is it the God of the universe Jesus Christ? It makes all the difference in the world who you know, it makes all the difference in where you will spend eternity!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
