The Imminent Rapture of the Church!

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Jesus Christ gave us warning signs to watch for, signs of the end times, the last days, just before His return for the church, just before the rapture of the church!

He told us that there would be wars and rumors of wars, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, there will be famines and pestilence, and earthquakes in various places, He also warned us that we should take heed that no one deceives us!  He said that people will hate Christians, that they will be killed for His name sake, that many will be offended and hate one another and betray one another, that many false prophets will rise up and deceive many, that lawlessness with abound and the love of many will grow cold!

The apostle Paul also warned us of the last days, that they would be perilous times, when men’s hearts would grow cold, that people would be proud and arrogant, disobedient, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, having a form of godliness but denying its power.

I don’t know about you, but I see all of these things happening right now!  In fact they are becoming more frequent and with greater intensity each day.

However, Jesus did tell us one more thing, And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).”

So, the real question is this: “Has the gospel of the kingdom been preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations?”

I believe that it has!  The gospel of Jesus Christ is being preached all around the world, through missionaries, ministries, evangelism, churches, television and radio, literature, and the internet and social media.  At no other time in history has the gospel been preached so much, so far, and all around the world!

Jesus didn’t tell us that the gospel must be preached to every man, woman and child, but to all the world, and I believe that this has been accomplished.  This is not to say that we as the body of Christ should stop spreading the gospel, on the contrary, however there is nothing else that must happen before Jesus Christ comes in the clouds to take us home!

Daniel 12:4

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Even the old testament prophet Daniel prophesied about these things, that in the end times knowledge shall increase and many shall run to and fro.  These are the times when knowledge has definitely increased and many run to and fro, more so than at any other time in history!  Who could argue with that?!

With the advent of air travel, moving around and across the globe has become quite easy, we can travel around the world in a matter of hours, as compared to months not too many years ago.  And with the advent of technology we have access to enormous amounts of information at our finger tips, right in our homes or even on the road.

Just to give you an idea of how fast technology has advanced recently, when I was in college just a couple of decades ago, we did not have personal computers to look up information as they do now, we had to go old school and use books.  Imagine that, we had to actually carry around and read books! But now students of all ages carry around lap top computers and can access anything they desire, right at their finger tips!

The knowledge of the world has increased exponentially to the point of new discoveries in science, medicine, and technology being discovered almost daily!  Technology is advancing at a faster pace than manufacturers can keep up with.  When you buy a computer or smart television, it seems as though months later a newer and more advanced model becomes available on the market, and the item you bought seems to already be outdated, a dinosaur!

My point is that there is nothing that needs to happen before the return of Jesus Christ to rapture the church, nothing!  It could happen at any moment, even today, even as you are reading this post!  That is how imminent the rapture of the church is!

On a side note, there are many believers who think that we are or may be in the Tribulation period already.  But we must remember that it will not happen until the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many.

Daniel 9:27

“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.

This confirmation of a covenant, which I believe will be concerning the Jews, marks the beginning of the Tribulation period!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. God bless Gordon!
Good post , I do hope the rapture is imminent but we should be watching for the confirming of an agreement then?
    Daniel 9:27
    “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.

So 1 week =7 days and the 7 days=7 years (tribulation ) and then the middle of week -3.5days =3.5years half way through the tribulation at the start of Great Tribulation for the final 3.5yrs the time of God’s wrath.?

It would appear that we really are not even at the start of the 7 yr tribulation period yet then and still in the time of the birth pangs. Things happening may actually get much worse and very quickly now before trib starts for real. Christians in The West still have not yet suffered in persecution to anywhere near the same extent as in other areas of the world. We who are watching and waiting must have our hearts prepared in total surrender to The Lord for whatever persecution may be allowed to come our way too and we must pray continually for our brothers and sisters throught the world who are suffering in severe persecution right now!

    Maranatha!

  2. There is a sign people keep missing, the conversion of Israel. In Zechariah 12:10 the Lord says, “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” This is the sign I’m watching for.

  3. Thanks for your comment The Ezekiel Project!

I believe that this will happen at the end of the Tribulation period.

    Revelation 1:7
“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.”

    God bless! Maranatha!

No, the Tribulation period has not yet started, and I believe that it is the Holy Spirit filled church which is taken out of the way, raptured, which allows the Antichrist to be revealed, to be unrestrained, as spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8.

“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.”

The Lawless one is the Antichrist, and I do believe that He who now restrains is the Holy Spirit filling believers.

So if this is true, then you will not see the beginning of the Tribulation period because you will have been raptured out of here! We should not be looking for the Antichrist or the beginning of the Tribulation period, we won’t see them, we should be staying focused on Jesus Christ, however we will know the season and I believe that the season is now!

Our gathering together with Christ is the rapture and it is also spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2.

“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.”

The apostle Paul was telling us and the Christians at that time that it has not yet happened because He who now restrains is still here, we the church of Christ are still here, so do not be deceived. The Holy Spirit Himself will not be taken from the earth, for God is everywhere at all times, but the Holy Spirit filled believers will be taken out I believe. Who else could possibly be He who now restrains? Could it be an angel? Perhaps, but it seems unlikely due to the fact that angels are at war with fallen angels continually, and I believe that God is the only one with enough power to restrain all the forces of Satan. I cannot say that He who now restrains is in fact the Holy Spirit filled church, but this is what I feel in my spirit. And it makes perfect sense for a pre-tribulation rapture of the church that Paul is describing here, telling us in verse 1 that this is regarding “our gathering together with Christ”, this is exactly what he is explaining to the church!

The persecution of Christians has been increasing for years now, yet as you have stated the Western world has not seen it as in other parts of the world. Jerusalem is the center of the world, this is where most of the persecution has been centered, in the Middle East, but that is not to say that it will not intensify in other regions before the rapture.

    God bless! Maranatha!

  5. Thank you Gordon for explaining the above. You have been busy putting out such a lot of great posts! Gordon you are such a dear brother and The Lord has used so many of these posts to clarify and confirm many things that He has been teaching me over the last few years . … As I have been outside the walls of organised religion and church fellowship for so long, I am so very thankful to The Lord for leading me to your Blog site!

    God bless!

  6. Thanks for your comment Christine!

You are so very welcome sister! I have only been shown these things by the Lord, I wish that I could say that I figured it out on my own but I cannot, it was through the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is good and He wants us to know what He has written, He wants us to know His plan for us, His will in our lives and of what is coming. I pray that the Lord gives us wisdom, insight, and clarity regarding His word and the things of the spirit.

    God bless! Maranatha!

  7. Wish I could take credit for that…but I have learned from another…and friends who do have a knack for making me smile! and thanks for passing it back! ho ho…Merry Christmas!

  8. Hi Gordon, as you know I slightly differ from your view, as I believe we will be protected not taken out. Although I believe with you the birth pangs are getting stronger with each passing day and prophesy is rapidly fulfilling. Paul in 2Thes. is telling the Thessalonians (and by extension us) not to be deceived by rumors, implying the Day of the Lord has happen. In these passages he’s indicating the Revolt (aka the apostasy) that has to come and is intensifying in our generation. People will be lovers of everything earthly not realizing eternity is at sake. We are to keep watch of the times and what Scriptures’ says. Have our hearts prepare for what is to come and happening, focusing our attention on Christ, emulating Him, how He handled situations with diplomacy and care. Paul asserts that he has no idea when the Last day will come, and he merely repeats what the Lord said in Matthew. 24:36.
For us to safeguard our hearts, doing our best to be at peace with people. God is pouring out His grace to all inhabitants now more then ever, that through our Christ-like behavior attitudes might change. But there will be a time when people’s hearts will be so hard to penetrate, our light will be the only thing they will see that will either make then change their ways or enhance their rebellious state with false accusations just like Scripture tells us, like Noah’s time, like Jesus’ day. One either believes or not.
Through times of old God has protected those whose trust is in Him and/or given an escape route, because of their faith. I believe, it will be no different in our generation. Jesus Himself on His last breath, prayed to the Father, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”, (Jn 17:15). His power is within us. We are not to lose hope. I believe we will be going through the fire of refinement, some of us will have hardships now and in the future (Rev.2:10), trying to convince people of our hope, and some will escape and find refuge, keeping the camps warm for others to return. God protects the little sparrows of the air, how much more will He protect us. It’s God’s purpose that none should perish but that non-believers see our faith and believe. It’s His purpose that is carried out through the ages. If we should die for our faith, we will join the mourners in heaven saying ‘how long, Lord…’ (Rev.6:10). If not, we continue the fight for we are soldiers (2Tim.2-4) of the Most High God. Our Lord tells us to endure all that’s coming til the end, and you will receive the crown of life, (James 1:12). “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5.
The Imminent Rapture of the Church in a sense that we donot know when, but should be prepared for it’s occurrence, for prophecy is fulfilling at speed in our lifetime, not be caught like a thief in the night or like the five virgins who missed out on a happy celebration. HOPE – Hold On Patience Endures – and is rewarded. Or/& – Hold On Pain Ends – life continues with the grace of God. He told us He would never leave us, His Spirit will always be with us. That said, I believe the restrainer is a high Archangel on God’s behest. God bless, my friend. In the end God is the One in charge, God’s word never fails whether you believe in a ‘pre’ and I in a ‘post’, only time will tell. Our theme has been in preparing ourselves and others to meet our Maker for time is short. Our Lord IS coming! Hallelujah! Maranatha! Glory be to God. And that we can both agree on. Peace be with you, always.

  9. Birth pangs of Matt 24 are events that will occur when the rev12 sign is seen.

Yes, the rev 12 sign ,that I’m talking about, is NOT the constellation seen on September 23.

The real rev12 sign will be a cloud formation in the image of a pregnant woman who will CRY in travail, according to rev 12:2, for the WHOLE WORLD to hear.

The moment we all see that cloud formation of a pregnant woman then you will see matt24 birth pang events converge quickly.

Just before the great tribulation of Israel starts(Jacob’s trouble) , the sun will be darkened by the red dragon of rev 12 and then its red shadow will be cast on the moon making it a blood moon.

  10. Thank you for your comment SweetJava!

Thank the good Lord that we as believers can agree to disagree on some biblical teachings that do not alter our salvation in Christ! There are many peripheral issues which do not determine our salvation, and we should treat each other with respect whatever our view is.

God is good, and He is telling us before hand what is coming our way. And the only way to have His protection and covering is through the blood of Jesus Christ! Amen.

See you at the rapture, whenever that may be!

    God bless! Maranatha!

  11. Thanks for your comment James Thinkhard!

I am not sure where you got the idea that the Revelation 12 sign is a cloud formation? I don’t see it.

    God bless! Maranatha!
