God Loves Us So Much! Much more than we know.

Commentary By:  Gordon King

As Christians do we really understand just what it is that God has done for us?  Has it really sunk into our hearts and our minds that God gave up His own life so that we could have life and have it eternally?!

The bible says that the greatest thing a person could do is to lay down his own life for another.

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Jesus gave up His life for us, He called us His friends, this is the greatest love of all!

Not only that but Jesus spent time in Hell so that we wouldn’t have to.  That’s right, if Jesus did not go to Hell for us then we would all be going there ourselves!

Jesus did for us what we all deserved, nothing at all that He deserved, but everything that we did!  This is the mercy of God Almighty.  Not only did He not give us what we deserve, but He gave us what we didn’t deserve, eternal life, this is the grace of God!

How much does God love us?  Enough to give up His own life, enough to spend time in Hell for us, and enough to give us everything that we don’t deserve, eternal life and the kingdom of God!

You must repent of your sins and believe that Jesus Christ is God, that He died for us, that He descended into Hell, and that He then arose from the dead and ascended into heaven.  You must not only believe but accept Him as Your Lord and Savior, then you shall be saved!  This is all a part of believing in the Son of God!

Calling upon the name of the Lord does not merely mean to just say His name, nor does it mean to go to church or read the bible.  Satan and his demons know the bible and they believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He is God, yet they are not saved!

Do not take lightly what the good Lord has done for us, be encouraged in knowing that God has given of Himself His own life to save ours!  That’s how much He loves us!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!
