Commentary By: Gordon King
Why is it that I post so much news and information about the chaos, calamity, and confusion in the world, why do I post so much bad news? It isn’t because I thrive on bad news, nor is it because I fear what is coming or happening in the world today.
We are not to fear the world nor what will happen in the world, however we are to be watching what is happening in the world so that we will know the closeness of Christ’s return. This is why I post what I post, to wake people up to what is happening, at least that’s the main reason. To wake up believers, to show them that our time is short and we must be ready at all times. Yet, there is another reason, and this reason is for unbelievers.
By posting this news and relating it to bible prophecy then it may catch the interest of unbelievers, and just maybe something inside of them will click. If nothing else it will plant a seed within them, a seed which is not ours to make grow, but our Father in heaven!
It seems to be getting more difficult to find news which is actually “news worthy”, and even more difficult to discern what is the truth from what are lies.
Many people find it difficult to hear about the bad in the world, even many believers just don’t want to hear it. And then there are those believers who think that we should only focus on God’s love, that God is love and that’s all we really need to know. But is He really only love? From what I take from scripture is that He is not only love, but also a God of judgement and wrath!
God is love, but He is also a God of righteousness and holiness. Would a loving God allow people to commit heinous acts against other people without judging them for it? And if He did then how loving would that be to the victims of such crimes? The bible tells us that we are not to avenge ourselves for vengeance is His and He will repay!
“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”
We must allow God to repay what is do and not take it upon ourselves to do so in His place.
My point is that we must be aware of all that is happening in the world around us, and that there are certain events which will take place leading to the return of Christ, just as we are to know who God really is and what He will do. If we are not to watch then why would Jesus have told us to watch? And if we are not to be aware of what is coming upon the world then why does the bible tell us to?
If we are ignorant of the evil that is happening in the world, then we ourselves will be deceived, we will not be aware of the times, and we just may find that we are not prepared for it.
The times are becoming darker, they are becoming if not already perilous, and bible prophecy is falling into place. Scripture tells us of what the world will look like prior to the second coming of Christ, and it looks more and more like it each and everyday.
You can choose to ignore what is taking place in the world, you can turn your head or hide it in the sand, but you cannot change the fact that it is happening. You can choose to live according to the ways of the world, or you can listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His lead. We all have choices to make, decisions which will alter the course of our lives, decisions which will alter our eternal destiny.
We all choose heaven or hell, but we also setup for ourselves eternal treasures in heaven or we don’t. These things will alter our eternal destiny.
We must all keep in mind that there is much bad news out there, yet we must not forget about the good news, Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His precious blood for all of our sin debt! The bad news is leading to the good news, and the increase in all of the bad news is a sign that our Lord is coming soon to take his children home!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
