Commentary By: Gordon King
I have written many posts lately which have been difficult to hear, yet give us much to think about and ponder upon. They should instill within you a need to further understand the times we are living in, scripture, and the things of God.
As followers of Jesus Christ we will be under demonic attacks, and the world will endure great lies and deceptions. It is our duty to discern right from wrong, the truth from lies. Yet at times it seems most difficult, it seems as though there are invisible barriers keeping us from obtaining the whole truth!
Demons will plant thoughts into our minds, thoughts which are not our own. They will in fact tell us that we are not worthy, that we are unable to be loved by God, that we should do things which our spirit tells us otherwise. Of course none of us are worthy, we are saved not by what we do but only by the grace of God! God is love, and He loves us more than we could ever know.
We can see the after effects of these demonic lies and confusion, when we look at the separation of the church, when we see so-called believers doing things and believing things which they should not. We see it in the world as morals and values have changed, when what was right is now viewed as wrong, and what was wrong is now viewed as right. And we see it when those in the church agree with the world!
Just because we have thoughts in our minds that tell us to do something or think a certain way does not mean that they are right or that we should follow them. It could just be that these thoughts were placed there by demonic spirits, or perhaps even our own sinful nature. Test all things with the word of God!
This is why the apostle Paul told us that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We are in a battle against spiritual wickedness! This world is ruled by the powers of darkness.
We must put on the full armor of God and ready ourselves for battle. Allow the Holy Spirit within to fight through us and enable Him to obtain victory over the darkness. Seek first the kingdom of God and the things of heaven above. Put God first in your life and trust in His ways. Then and only then can you overcome.
We can stop the workings of the Holy Spirit if we follow the ways of the world. We can hinder the workings of God if we allow ourselves to be deceived, if we live as the world lives. God will help us if we allow Him to, if we follow His lead, if we live as Christ lives. However, when we sin then we are rebelling against God and His ways!
Resist the devil and he will flee from you! Destroy the darkness with God’s word and keep it written upon your heart. Listen to the voice of God and know that He is with you! Follow the ways of the Lord and He will guide and protect you.
Search the scriptures and pray for wisdom and understanding. Meditate upon God’s word and allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten you. We all need understanding of the truth, we need God’s wisdom and we need His guidance.
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
