How do we know that these are the Last Days and that Bible Prophecy will come to pass?

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Are we really living in the last days?  Is the world as we know it soon coming to and end?  And if it is, then how do we know it?

1 John 2:18

“Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that anitchrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come.  Therefore, we know that it is the last hour.”

The bible tells us so, that’s how we know!  We are given many signs to watch for so that we would know just how close we are.  I have heard it said that there are at least five hundred bible prophecies which have not yet come to pass.  You may think that is an awful lot to happen in such a short period of time, however the scriptures do not lie, and they will happen in a short period of time!

We can rest assured that all bible prophecy will come to pass, as it all has thus far.  There were over three hundred prophecies written about the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that all came to pass with one hundred percent accuracy, that’s not just evidence of bible prophecy being true, it’s proof!  The odds of even just several of these prophecies coming to pass with such precision is astronomical and impossible if they were not true, yet they all were, all three hundred of them!

The scriptures do not lie, and bible prophecy is the truth.  What we know of that will happen according to scripture is coming to pass, and at some point in time they will all begin to happen like clockwork.

We are living in the last hour of the world as we now know it.  Specific events are lining up in preparation for these prophecies to occur.  What was foretold thousands of years ago by the old testament prophets is beginning to happen now!

Many Christians do not study bible prophecy, nor do they really seem to care.  I’m not really sure why a believer in Jesus Christ would not care about what the bible says will happen in our life time!  But it seems as if most don’t.  The good Lord put these prophecies in the bible for a reason, and if they are there then we should study them and take heed to them, after all, one-third of the bible is prophecy, as is the testimony of Christ which is the spirit of prophecy!

Revelation 19:10

‘And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Take it as you will, study all of God’s word including bible prophecy, or don’t.  However, the will of God is to know, it is the knowledge of God Himself, His will and His plans according to His purpose, this includes bible prophecy!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22

Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Yes Gordon the signs are all around the world now and they are lining up with Biblical prophesies for sure, time is short. I know something major is going to happen very soon! I hope whatever it is will have everyone that will come before the Rapture wake up and seek The Lord whilst He may be found. I think after the Rapture it is still possible to be saved but they must endure until the end and it will be so much harder for them than us as the opposition will be fierce and the pressure mounting to conform or die to the Anti Christ system. We can see it developing now and it is becoming harder for Christians even now who wish to hold fast to Biblical truth but this is nothing compared to what is to come!

    God Bless! Maranatha!

  2. Oh Gordon, how true are your words and how sad so many are blinded by the dragon’s deceptions. Let’s continue to pray for the miss informed to realize the truth of the gospel, especially if we cant penetrate their animosity. The saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ, His grace is given freely to those who believe and do the will of the Father. We at least plant a seed and pray for their conversion. Tough times are coming and in many cases already here and intensifying, especially for those who follow Jesus’ teaching. One mishap, one tragedy falls on the heels of another when we think we’ve cleared one hurdle only to get caught in another. The fight to stay steadfast is real, the fight to stay faithful is just as intensifying, the fight not to give up when sadness is at our doorstep is profound. But endure we must. The endtimes are here, bible prophecy is unraveling in front of our eyes and we must stay vigilant, not loose heart when it drops us to our knees. But pray… We are made stronger for having gone through it, to put away evil and defend righteousness. Because as the world is getting darker the light in us must shine brighter. Everything is lining up for a final confrontation. One either chooses to be in the grace of God, in His camp where life matters or not. One either chooses truth or manipulated to believe lies. The fruits of every individual comes to the forefront of where the heart is, stay awake and let the Spirit of God, the Spirit of truth comfort you in these trying times. In conforming to the world one looses to connect with our Eternal Father thereby loosing hope. Hope is what Jesus gives us to continue the good fight.
The world is being played into submission to the dragon, it’s all coming to its climax and therefore its conclusion. As children’s of God we forge ahead trusting God and His Word. Everything evil will soon disintegrate and before the world destroys itself, Jesus will be taking us home. Our redemption is near, now is not the time to loose heart when we see what’s happening on a global scale. We know these are the last days by the prophecies told long ago, have been and are being fulfilled. Search the Scriptures’ especially the Sermon on the Mount, Daniel/Revelation to find the truth of where we are with prayer; search who the characters it portrays are and a picture starts to emerge of the season we are living in. To distinguish a believer from God is in them/us is in acknowledging Jesus Christ. There is power in the name of Jesus! He IS the only way to the Father. if one claims to be a Christian and His name is not mentioned as being a personal Savior, walk with caution. Praying always for strength and protection. And for the individual(s) to be enlighten. We must be patient and let God take over, showing through our lives who we stand with.
God bless us all to His way of thinking in love, charity, harmony and peace. Always looking up for the fulfilling of the prophecies will come to pass in our lifetime. Godspeed.

  5. Thanks for the comment Christine!

Things in this world just don’t feel right, as if everything is being held together with smoke and mirrors and it is all soon going to come crashing down!

I know that people can be saved during the Tribulation period, but as you have said it will be very difficult. Deception will be even greater than it is now, and even God will send people a strong delusion to believe the lie.

    God bless! Maranatha!

  6. Thanks for your comment SweetJava!

Very well stated and true. These are most trying times, very trying for true believers in Jesus Christ. These are times when our faith is being tested and our devotion to Christ comes to the forefront. Let us remain faithful and true, allowing the light of Christ to shine through us as a beacon to the world!

    God bless! Maranatha!
