Prayers and Miracles!

Prayer for the times copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Our God is mighty and powerful, He is ever-present and everlasting.  He can do great things in our lives if we allow Him to, He can answer prayers and perform miracles.

Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t always seem to answer our prayers?  Or perhaps He does but it’s not the answer we were looking for.  Perhaps He answers them in ways which we were not expecting, at a time not really what we would have liked but according to His perfect will.

We must be very careful in what we ask for because we just might get it!  For example if we ask the Lord for courage them He just may put us in a situation which will build our courage, if we ask for strength then He just may put us in a dire situation which requires great strength!  If we ask for humility then He might take away from us all that He has given and bring us to our knees seeking Him with humble adoration, completely broken.

My point is that God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way that we would like Him to.  He may do it through other people whom we would never have thought God would use for our good but has.  He may put us through a fiery trial in order to fulfill the answer to our prayer, and He may just answer our prayer exactly as we have requested.  We don’t know how God will answer our prayers, but we should know that He will answer!  It may not be what we wanted, it may be no, or it may be not yet, it may even be contingent upon our actions and beliefs.  But I do believe with all of my heart that He will answer our prayers according to His will and for our good!

In order for God to answer our prayers we must believe that He will.  We must have faith in God and His word, in His promises to us.  Without faith what good are our works?  And without our good works our faith is dead!  Believe that God can and will answer your prayers, take a step of faith through your works and by your works your faith will be made known.  By that I mean we sometimes need to take action to put our faith and prayers into action.  Sometimes God will want us to do something in faith towards the prayer being answered.  For instance, if we ask God for a job, He will most likely expect us to get out and start looking, but not always.  If we pray for some hungry people to be fed, then He will expect us to do something about it, such as feeding them!  God not only works for us He works in us and through us!

By faith Abraham took action and his prayers were answered, God blessed both him, his descendants, and all the nations of the world.

Our God is a God of wonders and mysteries, He is a supernatural God, a God of miracles.  The church in the world these days seems to have missed the mark on just who our God really is!  Thousands of years ago God performed miracle after miracle, healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding the hungry, parting the Red Sea, fighting for the underdog.  Have we forgotten who God is?  He is the same today as He was yesterday and will always be!  How many churches do you know use God’s power to perform miracles, to heal the sick and the lame, to cast out demons, to restore broken relationships, to provide for those in need, and to answer prayers?  I don’t know of many.

God is performing miracles on earth just as He did thousands of years beforehand.  He continues to heal the sick, feed the poor, cast out demons, and fight for the underdog!  He can still part seas, and He can still remove mountains.  It is only our belief which holds back the awesome power of God Almighty!

Look no further than to our Father in heaven for answers to prayers and for miracles in the supernatural.  Seek Him first in all things, believe that you can do great things through the power of God, by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ!  The miraculous power of God is within us, we have the power to overcome and to perform miracles just as Jesus did.  I don’t have all of the answers and I don’t know all things, but this I do know.

The church needs to wake up to the power of God!  It needs to take hold of what Christ has bestowed upon us and within us.  These are the times of miracles and the supernatural power of God Almighty!  Believe that God can and does do all things, that He is in control, and that we are His children given the power of Christ.  We are in Him and He is in us, we sit in the heavenly throne room of our Father in heaven with Christ!

God will perform mighty miracles in these end times, His supernatural strength and ability will overcome many strongholds on earth and in the heavens.  We shall see great signs and wonders from God before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Whether or not you believe it is up to you, it will still happen, and if you want to see it happen in your life then you must first believe that it can and will happen, take a step of faith!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Amen to all of that Gordon! I had been praying that the Lord would strengthen my legs and I have just spent 6 weeks in a location that is extremely Hilly and without a car have had to walk uphill (VERY STEEP) to grocery stores for 45 mins and then very steep downhill on way back and I have noticed my legs getting stronger week by week! It is true we will be given the opportunities for the answer to prayers they will not always come without any effort on our part , we must step out in faith when we know what He is providing for us.

    • Thanks for your comment Christine!

God can and will do many wonderful things for us, but at times He wants us to take steps of faith such as you have done yourself, in fact many steps! Abraham took steps of faith, so did Moses, Mary, and Noah! God is good and He will provide, yet He wants us to trust Him by taking these steps of faith.

      God bless! Maranatha!
