Doom and Gloom, or The Coming Savior!

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Many believers are warning others of what is to befall the world, of the tragedy, destruction, pain and suffering that is coming.  Most people just don’t want to hear about it, they believe that things will get better.  While it may seem to some that things just might get better, I am telling you they will not!  Not until the return of Christ to earth.

To some, maybe to most, I sound like a doom and gloom naysayer, that what I talk about are events destined to happen in the world which will bring the world to it’s end.  I only speak of what the bible says will happen in the end times, what bible prophecy tells us will happen, and is already happening!

There are even many believers who do not study bible prophecy, nor do they choose to believe that it will happen!  This is a shame, for a person of faith in Jesus Christ to ignore what Jesus told us to watch for and what will happen in the end.

What I believe is the biggest tragedy to come are the billions of unsaved people who will never accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!  This is why I write what I write and post what I post.  To show people that we are living in the last days, the end times, and that what the bible tells us will happen in the end is happening now!  In order to wake people from their slumber, to get them to put the pieces of the puzzle together for themselves before its too late.

There are people who say that the world is now falling apart, but I say that it is all coming together.  The words spoken of in the bible, written thousands of years ago are now coming to pass.  With each passing day bible prophecy is being fulfilled.

I am not the author of the bible, God is!  He is the one who wrote these words, He is the one who has a plan for the world, not me, I am merely a messenger of His word.  And when He says that things in the last days are going to get ugly, then you better believe it!

So, the real question should not be why do you post and write about so much pain, suffering and evil in the world, but what does all of this really mean?

We must see through the smoke, look beyond what our eyes can see, and look with our spirit.  There is so much more happening than what meets the eye.  God has a plan, and that is for anyone who comes to repentance and believes in Jesus Christ as Lord will have eternal life!  That is why He gave Himself upon the cross at Calvary, so that all would believe.  I am not saying that all will believe, for we know that all will not, however that is God’s will.  He wishes for no one to perish, but He also knows that all, or most will not, and His heart grieves.

Through all of the pain and suffering, all of the evil and wickedness in the world there is a light, there is hope, and there is goodness.  The Savior of the world is coming soon and this should give us great joy and comfort.

For those not placing their faith and trust in Jesus Christ the world is not as it seems.  There is false hope, false peace, and false happiness, they are temporary and fleeting at best.  They cannot see the message of the cross through the calamity of the world, nor do they have any real hope of a better life.

All other religions teach that a person must perform certain acts in order to earn their way to heaven, when in fact no one is good enough to ever do that!  There is only one way to heaven, and that way is through Jesus Christ, all others lead a person down the wrong path.  No one is ever good enough to reach heaven, for heaven is perfection!

Do not be misled by what you see happening in the world around you, do not take the words of the wise and cast them to the ground to be trampled upon.  Listen to the words of God Almighty and know the truth!  Jesus Christ is the truth, He is the only way to eternal life!

Accept Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

Great truth and encouragement Gordon, I hear the back and forth going on today about teaching bible prophecy in church. Some pastors feel that if they give a message on bible prophecy then they are beating the church over the head with Eze. 38 and will loose most of them from the message. The fact that without bible prophecy there would be no bible period, there would be no salvation, judgment, heaven, hell or hopeful future. I agree that prophecy is not about gloom and doom, it is what God gives us to see our way through the present and future conditions of the world. I can imagine the result of no prophecy being taught in the church then a whole generation of youth could be drawn away from understanding the plan of God which is only found in prophecy. What would someone do when they open the bible to Matthew 24 and 25 and have no understanding of the questions and answers of Jesus. The bible is a book of and about prophecy beginning in Gen. 3:15 with God speaking about the serpents seed and the woman’s seed, a prophecy for Jesus. If there ever was a time in history when we need to read and heed and understand prophecy, it is now. Prophecy tells us who is in control of the world now, who is coming to take charge of the world and what will be the final outcome, and it’s all good news to the believer in Jesus. I especially like prophecy because it deals with the eternal state of existence beyond all this current creation, it tells us that there will be an eternal place with God and Jesus dwelling with us in a beautiful protected city where there will be no more war, dying, or pain.

      Thanks for your comment Ethin!

It saddens me greatly to know that most churches do not preach prophecy, of the end times, or of current events happening in the world today that are related to bible prophecy! They skip around it, tip toe through it, and treat it as though the words are not true. The bible tells us that the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy, so do we also ignore the testimony of Christ?!

Why are the churches so afraid of bible prophecy? What do they fear about prophecy and why do they not want the flock to learn about it? I just don’t get it other than spirits of this world are influencing the church, from within the church itself!

      God bless! Maranatha!
