Commentary By: Gordon King
We are in the world but not of the world! This is what scripture tells us and it is so. Knowing this we must be cognizant of just what is taking place in the world around us. What does God tells us to be the truth, and what do we believe to be the truth? Are they one in the same, or do we have our own human wisdom to guide our path?
Are we listening to what God is telling us, or are we interpreting scripture to meet our own mindset of what God and His word mean? Many shall be offended by what I am about to say, many will not like it nor will they agree with me. But, I am only telling you what God says, you can choose to believe it or not! You can be mad at me, but I am only the messenger. And if I did not think that God takes this very seriously then I would not keep writing about it, but the good Lord keeps putting on my heart. I do not seek to please man, but to please God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe! I attempted to post this early this morning, however for some reason I began having lots of trouble with my internet connection, fiery darts from the enemy!
There are many believers in Jesus Christ who do not support Israel or the Jews, they tell us that scripture does not tell us to. I wholeheartedly disagree!
“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
God says that He will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you, referring to Abram, however was God only referring to Abram or also to his descendants? I believe with all of my heart, mind, and soul that God meant not only Abram but also his descendants.
God not only blessed Abram but also the Jews! They are His chosen people, and the names of the twelve tribes of Israel will be eternally remembered!
“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.“
If you are among those believers who do not support Israel and the Jews, then why is it that God does? Why are the names of the twelve tribes of Israel written on the twelve gates of the New Jerusalem, the eternal city of our Lord? Please explain that to me.
The Jews are the apple of God’s eye.
“Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,”
Whoever messes with Israel pokes God in the eye!
Does this mean that the Jews are perfect? No! Does this mean that they kept their end of the covenant between them and God? No! But God has! That’s the point, God has not renounced His end of the covenant that He made with Israel and the Jews, He is not finished with them!
Why is it that God will seal 144,000 from the twelve tribes of Israel during the Tribulation period? Because this time is about the Jews! It’s about God’s chosen people, and them finally realizing that Jesus Christ is Lord! This is a time for the Jews, not the gentiles. I believe that these 144,000 will go about the earth preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Jewish evangelists winning souls for Christ!
“And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:
5 of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed;
6 of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed;
7 of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed;
8 of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.“
“Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.“
A remnant of Jews will accept Christ, it is written!
“And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.“
Read Joel 3, then tell me that God has abandoned the Jews! Tell me that He is not in support of the Jews. The following is prophecy of the end times.
“For behold, in those days and at that time,
When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.
3 They have cast lots for My people,
Have given a boy as payment for a harlot,
And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
4 “Indeed, what have you to do with Me,
O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia?
Will you retaliate against Me?
But if you retaliate against Me,
Swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head;
5 Because you have taken My silver and My gold,
And have carried into your temples My prized possessions.
6 Also the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem
You have sold to the Greeks,
That you may remove them far from their borders.
7 “Behold, I will raise them
Out of the place to which you have sold them,
And will return your retaliation upon your own head.
8 I will sell your sons and your daughters
Into the hand of the people of Judah,
And they will sell them to the Sabeans,
To a people far off;
For the Lord has spoken.”
9 Proclaim this among the nations:
“Prepare for war!
Wake up the mighty men,
Let all the men of war draw near,
Let them come up.
10 Beat your plowshares into swords
And your pruning hooks into spears;
Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”
11 Assemble and come, all you nations,
And gather together all around.
Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord.
12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.
Come, go down;
For the winepress is full,
The vats overflow—
For their wickedness is great.”
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will grow dark,
And the stars will diminish their brightness.
16 The Lord also will roar from Zion,
And utter His voice from Jerusalem;
The heavens and earth will shake;
But the Lord will be a shelter for His people,
And the strength of the children of Israel.
17 “So you shall know that I am the Lord your God,
Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain.
Then Jerusalem shall be holy,
And no aliens shall ever pass through her again.”
God Blesses His People
18 And it will come to pass in that day
That the mountains shall drip with new wine,
The hills shall flow with milk,
And all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water;
A fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord
And water the Valley of Acacias.
19 “Egypt shall be a desolation,
And Edom a desolate wilderness,
Because of violence against the people of Judah,
For they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall abide forever,
And Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21 For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted;
For the Lord dwells in Zion.”
God says that He will judge those who divide up His land, but He will also judge those coming against His chosen people the Jews, Israel! The Lord dwells in Zion, He has put His name there, and He will rule the world during the Millennium from Zion!
“Then the moon will be disgraced
And the sun ashamed;
For the Lord of hosts will reign
On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
And before His elders, gloriously.”
There are many nations wanting to divide the land of Israel and give it to the Palestinians. However, God has spoken and it is so! Those who divide the land will be judged! The Lord has given this land and much more than they currently possess to the Jews forever.
“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.“
‘On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying:
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— 19 the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, 20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” ‘
‘ “I will plant them in their land,
And no longer shall they be pulled up
From the land I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God.‘
God loves the Jews, His chosen people! Does this mean that all Jews are good people? No, not anymore than the rest of the world, but this does not mean that God has broken His covenant with the Jews, it is an everlasting covenant. Does this mean that all Jews will go to heaven? No, not anymore than it means anyone else will get to heaven without accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! However, there will be a remnant of Jews who do accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior during the Tribulation period, as their have been Jews who have accepted Christ since He came to earth in the flesh.
God loves His chosen people and has set them apart from the rest of the world to perform miraculous things through them and for them in order to show the world that He is God! Does this mean that the Jews can get away with anything if they disobey God? No, absolutely not! And we have seen evidence of this throughout history, of the Jews being judged for their disobedience against God. He supports the Jews and blesses the Jews and the nation of Israel, and if it’s good enough for God, then it’s good enough for me!
Remember, those coming against Israel and the Jews will be judged by God! Those dividing the land or attempting to divide the land that God gave to the Jews forever will be judged by God! This includes but is not limited to presidents, kings, dictators and nations!
God has spoken, it is up to us to decide if we hear what He is telling us, or do we interpret what scripture says from our own human wisdom?
God tells me in His word that He loves the Jews and that He will judge those coming against them. I choose to follow His lead! What about you?!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
