God’s Love in a Dark World!

God is love copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

God’s love is immeasurable.  The very essence of God is love.  His love is unconditional and never-ending.  The love of God is much more than anything found here on earth, more intense than any other love we could even imagine!

1 John 4:7-11

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sins!  How much more loving could it be than to give yourself as a sacrifice for another?  To give your son as a sacrifice for others?!

The world is quickly becoming a very evil and wicked place, full of anger, wrath, malice, and hatred.  The darkness is closing in on the world, however there is still a light which shines through the children of God!  The light of Christ Himself shining in the darkness, overcoming evils in the world.

We can share God’s love with a hurting world, we can spread His love even in the darkness, especially in the darkness!  Darkness cannot overthrow darkness, darkness cannot overthrow light but it can dim it, however, light can overthrow darkness!  This is the wonderful news about God, about the good news of Jesus Christ!  God’s love can overcome evil and wickedness in the world, however, God is allowing the darkness to grow, allowing Satan and his demons to rule over the world.

I believe from scripture that there is soon coming a time when the church will be raptured out of the world, and many may not agree with me on this.  When this time comes there will be much more darkness in the world than light!  The darkness will seek to destroy what is righteous and holy, what is of Christ!

The good Lord has left us here at this time as a witness, a witness of Jesus Christ and His love for us.  This is the time to share the good news of Jesus Christ, this is the time to share God’s love!  Never before in the history of mankind has it been so important to share God’s love with a hurting world.  Our time is short and the world is headed for never before seen disaster, chaos, and calamity!

Let the love of God shine through you!  Be an ambassador for Christ, loving, caring, kind and gentle.  Pray for those in need, and give to those who have none.  We can share God’s love with a dark world, with people who do not yet know Christ.  We can show them a better way, the way, the only way to heaven!  We need to show them that God loves them.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

We will truly know just how great the love of God is when our redemption is complete!  When we come face to face with Christ then we shall know just how great His love for us truly is!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

    “Let your light so shine”
Also RM 13:12, “The night is far spent, the Day is at hand. Let us therefore, cast off the works of darkness, and lets us put on the armour of light.”
The Holy Spirit is calling the remnants of the light to shine bright in the dark days ahead, making one final push before the Lord appears for His Church.

Dear God! Let me be a bright light in this world of dark despair. Help me bring a joyous smile in a face washed with tears, help me feed the homeless who sleep on the cold lonely streets and miraculously always love and care in every way. I know it’s in this world of much thoughtlessness and pain; but I know when I pray to you my prayers are not in vain. I hope one day to have my way and change this world for good….Peace, love, understanding, will always be understood.
