There is Hope!

Jesus Blue Background

Commentary By:  Gordon King

There is a darkness looming around the corner, a darkness which seeks to devour those unaware and caught off guard.  With this darkness comes wickedness and evil, chaos and confusion.  The world as we now know it is being inundated with this darkness, yet there is coming a time when this darkness will completely envelop the entire world!  What is coming upon the world is of an evil and sinister nature, seeking to steal, kill, and destroy.  Bringing with it will be increased wars, famine, pestilence, death and destruction!  It sees no bounds nor does it favor one over another.

Matthew 24:3-14

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Most of us have already witnessed great destruction and calamity upon the earth, yet I am telling you that it will get much, much worse!  The darkness will increase as will all of the pain and suffering it leaves in its wake.  Those not prepared will lose all hope, hope of a future and hope of survival itself.

Without hope then what is the point?  If all we have to live for is another day to survive, then what sense is there in life itself?  If all we have to look forward to is working for bread and shelter, then what is the point of living, loving, caring and sharing?

Without a reason for being, than what does it matter how we live our lives and how we treat other people?  Without a purpose for our existence than why does anything really matter?  And if what I have said about the darkness is the truth, than what real hope do you have?  Is our existence merely a means to our end, is it only to work for necessities in order to keep us alive so that one day soon we can die?!  If that’s the case than what hope do people of the world really have?

My point is that there is hope, one hope, and that hope is God Almighty!  Without God life makes no sense whatsoever, but with God that all changes!  With Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we have the hope of salvation, of eternal life, and of God living with us.  He is there for us, in us, and all around us!  He will comfort us, help us, provide for us, and protect us.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

There are those who scoff at believers who say that the Lord is coming soon.  They will laugh and mock what followers of Jesus Christ profess to be the truth!

2 Peter 3:3-4

knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Without God in your life, than what is soon coming upon the world is hopeless.  Without Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, than life is meaningless and has no value.  Without God, your life will soon become a nightmare!

Bible prophecy is true, all of it written thousands of years ago foretelling what is to come, and much of it in the last days, the days in which we are now living.  In the last days people will dream dreams and have visions of things to come.

Acts 2:16-18

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.

People of the world mock and scoff at what followers of Christ say is soon coming upon the world.  They laugh at and blaspheme the name of God.  They seek hope in their jobs, in their bank accounts, and in their homes.  They seek the things of this world, things which will be devoured by fire!

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Matthew 6:19-21

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

There is no hope in the things of this world, nor is there any security.  The only hope is through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ!  Our hope is eternal salvation and life with God Almighty!

These are the last days, the days before the return of Christ.  It’s often misunderstood that the gospel must be preached to “everyone” in the world before His coming, yet this is not what scripture teaches.  Matthew 24 tells us that the gospel will be preached “in all the world as a witness to all the nations” and then the end will come, not every person!

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

So what does this mean?  It means that Jesus Christ could return much sooner than many of us believed, and I have great hope in that!

2 Peter 3:17-18

You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hope, it is given to all believers in Jesus Christ, it is our anchor to what lies ahead, to the promises of our God!

Hebrews 6:19-20

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

These end times are sure to be filled with chaos and confusion, death and destruction, yet for those of us who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, we have hope!  The hope of full redemption, of eternal life with Jesus, hope that our Father in heaven hears us and answers our prayers.  Instead of being filled with fear and anxiety, He has filled us with joy and peace!

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

God bless you Gordon and Maranatha!

  3. The book of Enoch that has resurfaced in the recent years tells the truth from the begining to end.

  5. Gordon this doesnt need printed and didnt know where to tell you this so…

The star of david flag you fly on your page came out of egypt during the exodus, its really the star of remphan and is Condemned in Acts 7:43. You should not have the same star that was sucked down with the golden calf…… see amos 5:25… when christians learn one thing from men they have a real hard time changing when God’s word demands it….. many christians would leave it up even with God standing against it…. what shall gordon do?

  6. Truth be told, you seem to be making assumptions about the Star of David from one or two verses in scripture mentioning a star. However, what proof do you have that this is the same star of demonic gods? Satanic stars that I know of have five points (pentagram) not six as in the Star of David.

Scripture even mentions Jesus Himself as a star.

    Revelation 22:16
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

I do not post the Israeli flag for the purpose of a symbol, but for the support of the nation of Israel.

I wonder if you ever have anything positive to say, or do you only come to judge?

It’s not merely about knowing scripture, but living it out in love and encouragement!

  7. Hi Gordon.

This is actually interesting to give a thought.
I’m not sure what to say myself, but I give it a try. – And whatever I should say, it’s never the meaning to offend anyone just to say that.
First about Genesis 12,3. : It doesn’t say as someone claim that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who don’t. It says “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you. And in you all families on earth shall be blessed” – This was a promise from God to Abraham. Not Israel. – Israel didn’t even exist yet.
Abraham was from Ur which is in todays Irak as far as I know.
So from Abrahams descendants the savior Jesus was born whom all people from all nations who recieve the gift would be blessed. (With everlasting life.)
So where does the bible say that the six-pointed star is a holy symbol? – I don’t know any place.
Rather the opposite. Everything connected to something with 6 is not about God. It’s the number of man.
The bible tells about he who hold the 7 stars and 7 candlestick in revelation 2,1. – 7 is the number of God. Not 6.
And God also promise to reunite the land of Israel if they keep his commands.
Do Israel keep his commands? – No, they actually killed his son. And today is one of the most ungodly countries in the world.
Tel-Aviv is the worlds gay-capital, and nothing at all is more holy in Israel than in for example Usa or Norway.
God will unite his people when they turn to him. But they don’t.
Judaism is still waiting for their savior which they at Jesus time thought should release them from the Romans.
They still wait for this savior which they believe will get them to rule the world.
And he will come. – And he will sit in the temple in Jerusalem. – But this time as the antichrist.
Jesus himself say it in John 5,43.
So why support a godless nation who wait for,and will accept the antichrist?
Then I could support North Corea just as well.
Satan wants to be God. And he wants to rule from the holy city to be like God.
I know I may offend with this, but that’s not my mission. – I’m not sure myself either. I only wants people to question things, and think twice.
It may not be as we think. Remember the big decieption which will come.
So please Gordon don’t be angry.
You can educate me instead on my errors, but I think a lot. I’ve always done that. I’m a brooding person.
So give it a thougt and let the Lord learn us all what to watch for.

I have found some information on why we should support Israel, much better stated than I ever could.
    “Blessing the Jewish People”

As far as the star of David goes, I do not support the star but the Jewish people, and this flag now represents the nation of Israel.

IF we shouldn’t support Israel, then why is it that God will make a “New Jerusalem”? Why is it that God will rule the earth from this New Jerusalem?
And why is it that the gates of the New Jerusalem which will last forever has the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel?
    Revelation 21:12
“Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel”

Why is it that the Jewish people are called the “apple of His eye” in Zechariah 2:8? Why are the Jews God’s chosen people? Why is all of scripture centered around the Jews? Why did God choose for His Son and our Lord and Savior, the redeemer of the world, to be born from the Jews? And why did He reunite the nation of Israel in 1948 (prophetically). I could go on and on, but you should get the point. The bible is the story of God’s chosen people, the Jews, and His nation of Israel! This is why I support the Jews and Israel. If my God chose and supports Israel and the Jews than I will also.

Not all people do the right thing, and apart from God none of us are good including the Jews! Yet, they are His chosen people, set apart from the rest of the world for Him. From the beginning to the end, it’s mostly about the Jews, up to the point of them realizing that they were wrong, and finally accepting Christ as their Savior.

I don’t support a godless nation, I support God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel.

We can take Genesis 12:3 to mean that God only means to bless or curse Abram, or we can take it to mean Abram and his descendants. Whatever the case, scripture is very clear that God’s chosen people are Jews, that he loves them dearly and wants them to make the right choice, as He does for all of us. As for me, I take it to mean Abram and his descendants.

If you take a look at Genesis 12:2, than you will also see that it says God will make Abram a great nation. Do we than take this to mean that Abram himself will become a great nation? No, of course not! Yet that’s what it says. And if he is to become a great nation, then wouldn’t it also follow suit that in Genesis 12:3 means to not only bless Abram, but also his descendants (nation, Jews)?

And if you really think about it, are we not to be supporting one another anyway? Are we not to be loving, kind, and giving to all?

I know what I believe and I believe what I know. It’s up to you to decide what you will believe.

    Take care Øystein! God bless!

  9. But if we should not support a godless nation, then why support judaism which have written in their talmud horrible things about Jesus. – There is only one salvation. Through recieving Jesus as the savior. It’s the same for everyone. Including the jews.
And yes, we have to be loving, kind and giving to all. That includes every living human. Not special treatment to a special group.
Gods people is an apple of his eye because they bring the world a savior, and Jesus will rule with them from Jerusalem when he returns for his 1000-year kingdom. Sadly, it will only be a small rest of his people who will accept him. The others who don’t accepted him will have the same fate as everyone else who reject him.
It just seems for me that some believe Gods people have another way of salvation.
Jesus gave two new rules. In Matthew 22,37-39. – Nowhere did he say that the salvation depends on blessing a political state.
Love your enemy, yes. Blessing those who do abomination in the Lords eye,no.
The jews needs like everyone else to hear and accept the gospel so they can be saved.
Not suport for judaism or any other pagan worship-religion or non-believers which we know in front will accept the antichrist as the messiah/political world ruler.

Difficult topic, but intersting to give a thought.

    God bless. – From Øystein

  10. Thanks for your comments and views Øystein!

I don’t have all of the answers, wish that I did! I only know that God has blessed the nation of Israel and they are His chosen people, and He continues to bless them. And even after most Jews refuse to accept Christ as their Savior, they are still His chosen people. I don’t believe that there is any other way to salvation then by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, not for anyone, including the Jews.

I understand what you are saying Øystein, however it is God who will make judgments against Israel not I. How many times have we sinned in our lives? I cannot count such a number! And when we do we pay the consequences for our actions, the same for the Jews, especially the Jews! Look what they have gone through over the past few thousand years for being disobedient and turning away from God. My point is that God has not turned His back on the Jews, even though they did to Him! He still loves them and He still blesses them, yet He also passes judgment upon them for their iniquities. This is not to say that they will be saved without accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Have you ever blessed anyone who didn’t deserve it? I have and still do. So does God. If He didn’t than none of us would ever be saved. He makes the light to shine and the rain to fall on the good and the evil.

Many Jews have come to know Christ, and many more will as well. We as Gentile believers are here to provoke jealousy to the Jews, in order for them to see the error of their ways. And at the end of the Tribulation period a remnant of Jews will see the error of their ways, the One whom they pierced, and shall mourn and weep for what they have done to Him! They shall then be reconciled back to God Almighty.

I don’t support Paganism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Witchcraft, Baal worship, or any other form of religion other than Christianity. However, I do support a people (not their thoughts, beliefs, ideologies) that God has chosen to be His own. Whether I am right or I am wrong will be determined by God Almighty.

We all have choices to make in this life, they are not all easy ones to make, and one day they will all be laid out at the feet of our Creator.

No one has to bless Israel, our salvation if not dependent upon it, only by the grace of God through faith in Christ are we saved!

    Take care Øystein! God bless!
