Moscow Calming Israeli, American Fears of Russia-Turkey-Iran Coalition

Putin and Erdogan

(SOURCE)  Tuesday’s meeting in St. Petersburg between the two former feuding foes Russian President Putin and Turkish President Erdogan “drew considerable attention,” government-run news agency TASS reported, noting that the Russian-Turkish rapprochement is coming while Russia has been expanding its relations with Iran and Ankara and Tehran have also been bridging the gaps between them, born by almost four decades of a volatile Islamic Republic on Turkey’s border. In fact, right after the failed coup last month, Erdogan announced, “We are determined to cooperate with Iran and Russia to address regional problems side by side and to step up our efforts considerably to restore peace and stability to the region.”

Should Israel be concerned? Apparently, the Russian news organ is eager to spread a message of calm regarding the new developments in the northern part of the region. And so an unsigned article this week polled experts who were skeptical regarding a developing strategic triangle of those three powers. According to the TASS experts, the most that will come out of the current statements are tactical political interaction and an upturn in economic cooperation. But even if it were true, and Russia, Turkey and Iran were to forge a strategic alliance, TASS continues its calming message, it would be for the best, because “these three countries can play a positive role, for instance, in overcoming the Syrian crisis.”

It isn’t clear who is panicking more at the moment—Jerusalem or Washington—over the possibility that Turkey, a NATO member, would switch sides and coalesce with Russia and Iran. Clearly, the US has a whole lot more to lose from such an emerging outcome. US Middle East policy traditionally relied on the “three-legged stool” comprised of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey. As long as those three major local powers were in the Western camp, Soviet manipulations elsewhere could be mitigated. When Iran was lost under President Jimmy Carter in 1979, the US attempted for the longest time to substitute Iraq for the missing stool leg, but the Iraqi regime never provided the stability the US enjoyed with the Shah. This is why the US is so determined to keep Turkey in the Western camp, because without a Western-allied Turkey, the US presence in the region would be severely downgraded.

Hence the need for the TASS calming story. It interviewed senior research fellow Vladimir Sazhin, of the Oriental Studies Institute under the Russian Academy of Sciences, who reassured the Western readers “there will be no trilateral union, of course. It should be ruled out for many reasons. At best one can expect some tactical alliance. This is so because Iran, Turkey and Russia have certain problems in their relations with the West and with the United States.” That’s code for Turkey would be punished severely, economically and otherwise, if it ever jumped ship.

Interesting article Gordon. The momentum is gaining ground as the Holy Scriptures’ warns us… prepping for war…maybe? (Eze. 38 players lining up..?..).

“For they do not speak peace, But they devise deceitful matters Against the quiet ones in the land.” (Psalm 35:20)
“Destruction comes; They will seek peace, but there shall be none.” (Ezekiel 7:25)

Gordon, I was wondering if you’ve been feeling an impression that something bad is about to happen?
Especially today? A strong ominous feeling came over me today. A foreboding that something bad was going to happen and if this wasn’t bad enough, in taking a deep breath trying to shake it off, I smelled an awful stench in the air. Again I shook it off and prayed. This feeling and smell has left me but the after thoughts of what I just experience have not and I can’t pinpoint the reason. I will continue to pray about it. But was wondering your thoughts.. With elections so close and the world going bonkers….I just felt sick inside…if you know what I mean. We need to stay close to God, we’re being attacked from all sides politically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Only our faith keeps us forging on… God bless, my friend.

      Thanks SweetJava!

I have been feeling this way for quite some time now. I can sense evil in the air! I haven’t really felt any different today or had any unusual smells though. However, I have been having some very strange dreams. I do feel that things are going to get much worse soon, however, I am not fearful because I know that God is in control of all things. Whatever happens, whatever the outcome, He is still in control!

You may be sensing something coming. You should definitely pray about it and ask the Lord to give you insight and discernment. I have had similar experiences when bad things were about to happen. I would also recommend that you bind all evil forces which may be coming against you and your family. I would pray the blood of Jesus between you and them.

Lord God in heaven hear my prayers. I pray for protection, peace, and comfort for my friend SweetJava and her family. I pray for you to send mighty angels to surround and protect her and her loved ones. I bind any evil forces attacking SweetJava and her family and cast them deep into the pit. Thank you Jesus! Without You we can do nothing, but with You we can do all things. You have given us the authority over evil spirits and I thank you! In Jesus Holy name. Amen

      God bless! Maranatha!

Amen. Thank you Gordon. I too, pray the same prayer for you, my friend.
We must continue to pray for one another and all our brothers and sisters in Christ, for the challenges that we will be facing needs the strength of God Almighty. That no harm come to us as we continue to further the Lord’s cause. Also intercede for those who still haven’t come to truly know Him. Prayer is a powerful antidote in these perilous times. Yet, we know how it ends, and that’s the Good News! His will ‘will be done on earth as in heaven.’

Evil is in the air and I agree with you, things are going to get worst. Scripture tells us to be watchful of the times, and not be fearful, for all this must happen. All of what’s happening with Russia and the Middle East, Russia and its own border, Russia and the US, all predicted through out the Good Book. Watch for China to put in its two bits. Then there’s the UN stirring the pot, all leading to a climax of change towards one global leader of it all. A great war is coming, ushering in this leader. War in so many levels/ways has already begun… The smell I experience was a smell of, dare I say, the dead…(it was that intense.) Time to prepare in all ways, especially being close to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The One who preserves us through it all.
Be alert, praying all the time and having the full armor of God on. God bless us all.
        Maranatha!

The Putin controlled press will of course try and calm the waters, its what they do, while a missile is shoved down your throat.
These things are prophesied and will come to pass, no need to panic, because it is written, and there is nothing anyone can do about it…………except put your faith in the WORD of hope.

    • Gordon King

Thanks for your comment M Haney!

Of course we cannot believe what these people tell us to be the truth, as we cannot believe a word that Iran tells us is the truth, other than they want to wipe the United States and Israel off the face of the map!

Ezekiel 38 keeps coming into my mind! We must remember that God is in control of all things! Even who He puts into power as president of the United States.

      God bless! Maranatha!

      • m haney

[ Or remains is power as President, as some are suggesting could happen. Not sure i believe those “prophets”. As you said God IS in control…….may His Peace be with you in these very end of times].
