I’ve been wondering just what would it take to rapidly spread the Zika virus? How about hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world visiting a region where the virus is running rampant, say for instance Rio de Janeiro.
The Olympics draw not only the attention of most of the world, but actually draw people from most nations to the event itself. Just how many of these people have any concern over contracting the Zika virus?
Studies have been made which say that the virus poses no threat during the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, that the mosquito population has dwindled during cooler months and there is no real concern. Even if this is true, the Zika virus is contracted through a mosquito bite or sexual transmission.
Rio de Janeiro, the home of not only the 2016 Olympic games, but also Carnival! A place of hedonistic pleasures and self-indulgence. Can you imagine the partying going on during the games? And with all of that drinking of alcohol, sexual promiscuity is not far behind!
I’m not predicting that the virus will spread out of control due to people visiting the Olympic games in Rio, but I am saying that it is possible. And even though the main way to contract the virus seems to be by being bitten by a mosquito, there still remains the other known method, by sexual transmission.
Even if it doesn’t happen, just the thought of even the possibility of it happening should open the eyes of the world. It should be sending flashing red signs that something is just not right in the world, that we are on the verge of things turning for the worse!
The Zika virus is not the only virus threatening the world, there is also the Ebola virus, and many, many other viruses, many which are deadly and destructive with no cure in sight!
The fact is that the Zika virus is a warning sign, a sign of the times. Whether or not Zika will destroy millions of lives is not the real issue here, but merely a precursor of things to come!
Don’t believe me? I’m not making this stuff up, it’s the word of God Almighty! Jesus spoke of signs to watch for in the end times, one being pestilences (deadly diseases and viruses).
Matthew 24:7-8
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.“
What do you see when you read about the spread of never before heard of deadly and incurable viruses and diseases? Do you see them as merely nothing more than the evolution of species, or do you see them as a sign that something in the world is not right, that the world is headed in the wrong direction, and if we continue on the path that we are on that things will only get worse?
The fact is that things will get worse, and there is only one hope for the future, one hope for eternal life, and that hope is Jesus Christ! The only way to receive this hope and eternal life is to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is the only way out of this mess, the only salvation from a world gone astray!
Matthew 24:42
“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.“

Did you know in april of 2014 a company out of the uk released GM mesquitos that would mate with ones that cause dengue fever and make the offspring have birth defects and then within a year you have children with birth defect… zika has been around since the 40’s. Now they want to release them in Florida keys.
