Enduring Persecution and Trials

God Almighty copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Do you as a believer ever feel like the world is coming against you?  Do you feel overwhelmed and have feelings of doubt?  If you do then you are not alone.  Many other believers go through the same thing at times, I know I have been there myself, and I have spoken with many other believers who feel the same way.

One thing I know is that the closer you get to God, the more of the truth you share, and the more you perform God’s will, the enemy will attack you!  Just what Jesus told us would happen is happening.  We are to rejoice and be exceedingly glad!

Matthew 5:10-12

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

When we stand tall for Jesus Christ, then Satan and his demons tremble.  They know the power of God within us, and they want nothing more than to stop it!

We are not merely sinners saved by the grace of God, we are kings and priests of the Most High God of the universe!  We are saints of God, holy, righteous and pure.  We have been made to sit with Jesus Christ in heavenly places, even the throne room of our Father in heaven!  We are in Christ and He is in us.  We have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of us.  All of these things are true if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, and the enemy knows it!

The human response to being persecuted, hated, and reviled falsely for Jesus sake is anger, frustration, a sense of being overwhelmed, and in some cases having feelings of doubt and even fear.  All of these feelings are not of God, they are of the father of all lies, Satan!  As children of God we must resist the devil, we must push away these demonic feelings, and replace them with righteousness, holiness, and purity.  We must rejoice and be exceedingly glad knowing that we are on the right track, that what we are doing is building up great rewards for us in heaven!

The world hated Jesus Christ, they hated the prophets and the apostles, and so they will also hate us!  Do not be afraid, do not fear man.

Many other times we will endure trials and tribulations in our life.  They can be very difficult times, times which may bring us suffering and pain.  Yet, we must ask the Lord what we are to learn from these trials and seek His guidance.

James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

It is our duty as believers to be like Christ in His ways, righteousness is a virtue of being a Christian.  We must bridle our tongue, listen more, and quell the wrath within us if we are to be found righteous.

James 1:19-20

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Love your brothers and sisters in Christ!  Be Christ-like in all of your ways.  Listen, be slow to speak, and slow to wrath, for this is godly and expected of all believers!  We are saints of the Most High God of the universe, kings and priests, ambassadors of Jesus Christ and heaven above.  Amen.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

    Amen!
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:6
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and will be in you.” John 14:17
“For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Rom. 8:15) Praying for wisdom, discernment and love to fight the good fight. God hears our cries! Ours is not giving up when the road gets tough, but to persevere in spite of it.

The greatest gift was given to us out of love, therefore we should imitate that love and pay it forward (with malice towards none)…
God IS love and Jesus came to show us LOVE. The Spirit of love is in all of us, to be accomplish in action and throughout our lifetime, no matter how it’s received. (Yes it will sting at times, with people who just don’t get it.) We are told to those who will not receive our good intentions to shake the dust off our feet and move on. The seed has been planted and out of our hands. Our efforts will not go in vain for God see our hearts. And in the end that’s what counts!

Our peculiarity is the love we show (being Christ-like), not in fear of whatever may happen…
    God bless us all. Maranatha!
Thank you Gordon, for bringing it forward… God bless you, my friend.

Yes Gordon, I agree when we have been active in witnessing and prayer and all the Lords work He has called us to, we will surely come under attack and the devil and his legions will try and take us down. If we are not consciously standing in the full armour and feeling weary we can give way and start to give heed to lies and feel so despondent. Thanks be to The Lord He doesn’t leave us there, He gave us His Comforter,The Holy Spirit prays for us and we will rise up again and stand and fight back! When I feel so low I can barely utter a prayer and in fact don’t want to talk….. I do force myself to Praise Praise Praise …..sometimes I will just sing something very repetitive like ” HOLY HOLY HOLY LORD GOD ALMIGHTY…. BLESSED BE YOUR NAME ” over and over and over again …… the powers of darkness really seem to hate it and they flee! I often do that when I am driving home from work and I am in a much better place spiritually once I get home. It truly is a sacrifice of praise at times but that does bless The Lord and I find I am blessed too!

    God bless you Gordon!

      Thanks for your comments Christine!

I actually do the same thing, I worship and praise God, I listen to praise music and sermons, this renews my mind and my soul! After I do this then I feel as though I can take on the world!

      God bless! Maranatha!
