Jesus Christ, The Light of the World!

Jesus is the light

Commentary By:  Gordon King

We know from scripture that Jesus Christ is the Word, and that He has been around since the beginning of creation.  Everything ever created was made by Him and through Him.  He is the life and the Light, and the life which is the light shines through men by Him.

John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Believers in Jesus Christ shine the light in a dark world.  We seek to overcome the darkness by the light, by sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Yet those without the light are in darkness, they cannot comprehend the light.

This is not something made up by me, but is the word of God Almighty!

The separation between man and God is darkness.  The only way to overcome the darkness is to come into the light.  The only way to come into the light is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

John 1:10-13

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John the Baptist baptized with water, but Jesus Christ the Son of God baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

John 1:32-34

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. 33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

Those living in the world and of the world are in darkness.  They cannot see or comprehend the light of God.  They are comfortable living in darkness, for this is what they know.  We must pray for the lost, for those living in the dark.  Pray for the Lord to give them visions and dreams of the truth and the Light.  Pray for them to come to salvation and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

James 5:16

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Let us not give up on the lost or ignore the calling to shine the light.  It’s up to us as believers, as children of the light to show the world that there is a better way!  God has made us His, and as His we are the light of the world, commissioned to do His will on earth.  We are ambassadors of the God of the universe!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

Keep praying brothers and sisters! With God nothing is impossible! We are one body and are in Him working in partnership pushing back the darkness and shining the light of God’s word! Don’t give up and don’ listen to the discouragement of the enemy saying ‘ it is a waste or time nothing changes you might as well give up!’ The prayer of the righteous man accomplishes much! Lives are being changed , renewed by faith all around us but we can’t always see the movement at first just like watching a bud unfold it is moving imperceptible to the eye but will be in full bloom once the right conditions are there. Fertilise the soil with prayer, sow the seed with prayer and water the seed with prayer trusting God for the growth and His safe keeping !.

    God bless and Maranatha!

      Amen Christine!

And when we pray continuously, yet don’t see anything happening then we must continue to trust in God and His word. Just because we don’t see it, doesn’t mean things are not happening. God does things behind the scene which we are unaware of, He changes hearts and minds, and He uses our prayers as seeds of faith.

      God bless! Maranatha!
