Commentary By: Gordon King
Believe me when I say that evil, violence, and wickedness will increase! This is not my prediction, but the words written within the pages of scripture.
How do we know for sure that we are living in the end times, the times just before the beginning of the Tribulation period and the second coming of Christ?
The end times will be recognized by the increase in violence, evil, and the wickedness of man. Just before the beginning of the Tribulation period we will see all of this happening, as a sign of the times. Jesus warned us of these things, so did the apostles.
Jesus Himself said that the times will be as in the days of Noah! Well, the days of Noah were evil, violent, and wicked, God wished that He had never created man.
What gives even more credence to the veracity of these prophecies and proof that we are living in the end times, is that the nation of Israel has been reborn! None of this would be true if Israel were not a nation, yet it is, after almost two thousand years of Jewish dispersion from their homeland.
“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.“
What is Jesus referring to by the fig tree? Well, the old testament prophet Jeremiah refers to the Israelites as figs. And I believe that Jesus is referring to the nation of Israel, both returning as a nation and being prosperous. This hasn’t happened for almost two thousand years! Jesus said that this generation shall not pass away until all these things take place.
What things is he referring to? All of the things which shall take place at the end of times! We are that generation, and we are living in the end times my friends!
When you see and hear of increased evil, violence, and the wickedness of man’s heart, know that the time is near. Do not be alarmed, nor be discouraged, for all of these things must take place. They are given to us as a sign, a sign that Christ’s return is near, even at the door! Instead rejoice in knowing that your Savior is quickly coming.
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
