Where are you going after you die?

Get Saved Accept Jesus Now

Commentary By:  Gordon King

If you knew that you were going to die this evening do you know where you would be going?  Would you even care?  This subject is something which most people tend to avoid thinking about, yet it is the most crucial subject in life!

These are questions that all of us should be asking ourselves, because we are all going to die, unless of course we are raptured first.

Our lives on this planet we call Earth is very short, and anything could happen to take our life from us.  With the increase of evil and violence, of natural and man-made disasters all around us, the odds of us dying sooner than later seem inevitable.  Yet, just how many people in the world have given this much thought?

There are only two choices to make, either heaven or hell, no others, no in-betweens, no alternatives, our souls will live on forever in one of these two places.  We don’t merely vanish into thin air once we die as some believe.  Some believe that after we die that’s it, lights out, end of life.  I don’t believe it, not for one second, and you shouldn’t either!

Many people claim that they will go to heaven, no matter what they believe or who they believe in, they are just as deceived!  There is only one way to heaven, and that way is through Jesus Christ!

You must be saved, born-again in order to enter the kingdom of heaven, no other way my friends, none!  Other than that you are destined for hell.

So, you can put it off until it’s too late, you can wait until you’re dying moments and then try to accept Christ, good luck with that, or you can do it now while you still have time.  Waiting until you have your last breath is foolish and unwise, for you don’t know if you will have time, and you definitely won’t have enough time to think about it.  You may be killed instantly and never even see it coming!  These are difficult things to think about, but we must.  Avoiding them can lead to eternal destruction!

You don’t have to be afraid, unless of course you choose not to follow Christ, then you have much to fear.  For the world is quickly becoming a dark and evil place, a place of great deception, chaos, and confusion.  You may already be deceived and not even know it!  Ask God to show you the way, seek the truth with an open heart.  Ask Jesus Christ to lead you to salvation, He will.

It’s very simple, but it’s also difficult.  You must decide whom to follow in this life, you must make a choice, all of us must.  You may be avoiding the subject, yet in doing so you have already made a choice.  But it’s not too late to change your mind and your heart.  Today is the day of salvation!

LORD God in heaven, You love us all so very much, You are kind and good, holy and righteous.  I pray for those who are lost to see the light, I pray for You to give them a softened heart and eyes to see.  I pray for You to give them all visions and dreams of the truth!  Bring them to salvation, all for Your glory!  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.

Don’t wait until it’s too late!  Accept Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Thank you Gordon and God bless you and Maranatha!
I will be away with family for 2 weeks and not much possibility of internet connection so may not see posts until beg June but I will be remembering you daily in my prayers.

  2. Amen. (to your prayer.)

Indeed, life is unpredictable in this fallen world we live in. While there’s still breath in our lungs, accepting and being connected to our Life Giver- Jesus Christ, is the greatest choice one can make, now and forever.
For there is “A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;”…Ecc. 3:2
    God bless us all. Maranatha!

Thank you Gordon, for reminding us. Peace be with you!

    • Thanks SweetJava!

I wrote this post as both a reminder to believers, but also as a warning to unbelievers. We will all face judgment, we are appointed once to die, and then the judgment! Either at the Bema seat of Christ, or the Great White Throne Judgment, it’s a choice we all have to make.

      God bless!

  3. God said our spirits that he gave us will go back to him when we die and our body is in the grave. We will rise during the resurrection and that spirit will be put back into us [ the breath of life ]. We will be in the 1000 years of peace and Satan cannot taunt us again, but we will still have our human nature and we will be shown the truth of God, but will still have to make up our minds to change or not, if we do not want to go the ways of God, then our judgement will be eternal death…those that don’t will be burned up, like a burned up piece of paper. They will no longer be alive in any form, just burned up and gone. God is not cruel to allow anyone to suffer forever. You can find all this in your bible…

    • Thanks for your comments JJ!

I have a different take on what the bible tells us. That when we die we will go to be with the Lord, once this happens we are always with the Lord, not having to live again on this earth with a human nature. We will have immortal bodies and perfected in Christ. We will rule and reign with Christ on earth during the Millennial period.

We are only appointed only once to die and then the judgment. It is while we are still alive in our earthly bodies that we make our eternal decisions, not after.

The bible does not say that those going to hell will be burned up and gone, in fact it does say that the unsaved will be punished with everlasting destruction.

      2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
“He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might”

      Matthew 25:46
“And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

      God bless!
