Safety in God!

God Loves You

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Lord God Almighty show us Your will, lead us in Your ways, and deliver us from evil!  For the times are dark and getting darker.  The evil in the world is seeking the destruction of the righteous, and the wicked hearts of men are rebelling against You!

As time goes on we know that You are in control of all things, that Your power is within us, and Your strength carries us through.  As we seek Your will, give us the courage, wisdom, and desire to perform it.  In Jesus name.  Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,  And lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge  Him,  And He shall direct your paths.

We don’t always know why God does what He does, or just how He does it.  But we do know that God is the Creator of all things, and that He knows best and has the best in store for us.  Our human wisdom is no match to the wisdom of God, therefore we must lean on Him and trust Him with all of our heart, then He will direct and guide us through the evil in the world.

Proverbs 3:21-23

My son, let them not depart from your eyes—  Keep sound wisdom and discretion;  22 So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck.  23 Then you will walk safely in your way,  And your foot will not stumble.

Wisdom and discretion from God will keep us safe and keep us from stumbling.  Following His ways, by His understanding, and with His grace.

Proverbs 3:25-26

Do not be afraid of sudden terror,  Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;  26 For the Lord will be your confidence,  And will keep your foot from being caught.”

When terror strikes, when wickedness comes our way, we should not fear nor be afraid, for the Lord is with us and is our confidence.  He will protect us and shelter us under His mighty wings.  The Lord will be with us in times of trouble, He shall deliver us and set us on high.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

There is wisdom and safety in knowing the Lord.  We can have confidence in God and His power to lead, guide, and protect us.  Follow God and His ways, listen to His Spirit, and know that He is with you!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!
