Faith in God, it is who we are!

In God we trust copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith, with it we can accomplish all things, without it we can do nothing.  We all have faith, whether we are believers or not.

Unbelievers have faith that their car will start, and that it will get them from point “A” to point “B”, that when they open the door and walk outside the sky will not fall on them!  This is faith, however, it is faith in the things of this world, not on the things of God, two very different things.

Hebrews 11:3

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

With faith in the world and the things of this world we can live according to the world.  With faith in God we can live according to the things of God and heaven above.  Without faith in God it is impossible to please God.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Having faith in God is to seek Him first in all things, it is to believe that He can do all things, and that He is in control of all things.  Even faith as small as a mustard seed can produce mighty works!

Living in the world with faith in God can and will help us to overcome trials and tribulations in our life.  It will bring us to our knees in repentance, it will walk us through the valley of the shadow of death!

Without faith we cannot know God, nor can we understand the things of God.  When we open our minds and hearts to God, then we can increase our faith and knowledge of God.

Miracles, blessings, peace, comfort, and protection, all good things, all from God, including our faith!  Trust in the LORD God with all of your heart, seek Him first in all things!

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,  And lean not on your own understanding;”

Faith in God means to let Him have control, to submit yourselves to Him, to believe that He will be there at all times, in times of need and sorrow, and in times of plenty and joyous occasions.  Faith is not only essential for the believer in Jesus Christ, it is necessary, for without it we cannot please Him!

We cannot fully experience the goodness of God and all that He has in store for us without faith, and as our faith increases so does His favor upon us.

Humble yourselves before the Creator of the world, seek Him first, let Him guide your paths, increase your faith!  Know that what scripture tells us to be the truth is the truth.  Shelter yourselves under the wings of the Most High, seek Him in all things, wait upon the Lord, and your faith shall increase.

Be still and listen to the voice of God!  Be patient and wait upon the Lord, for His ways are sure and straight.

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Wholeheartedly agree!
Faith IS exactly who we are as Christians. It’s the foundation of our belief.

“Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. BLESSED are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29)
Always looking up for the hour is closer then we think. God bless.
