Commentary By: Gordon King
Knowing the truth and believing the truth are two very different things, as are believing the truth and denying the truth! We can hear the truth, yet deny it, but does this make it untrue? Of course not.
We are told that the earth is round, we may not believe it, yet it is still the truth. We can look up into the sky and see that it is blue, someone may tell us that it is orange, but it still remains blue. We all need oxygen to survive, we cannot see it, but we still believe. And if we deny that oxygen really exists does this make it untrue?
There is one God, composed of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, this is the truth. You can deny it, but it remains the truth! You can know it to be the truth, yet not believe in it.
Heaven is real, most people have heard of it, yet many do not believe that it is a real place. This does not make it untrue.
There is another dimension composed of good and evil spirits, this is the truth. And just because we cannot see it or touch it does not mean that it does not exist!
The world is composed of laws, laws of nature, such as the law of gravity, and the law of thermodynamics. These laws are real, just as are God’s laws and principles. For instance, love the LORD your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and we reap what we sow. Just because someone does not believe them does not make them untrue.
We come to many crossroads in life where we must make a choice. Times when we must decide what we believe and why. If we choose to believe the truth, then we must first seek the truth. When we find the truth then we need to believe it! If not then we are only deceiving ourselves.
God is real, heaven is real, and there is eternity after death. In this life on earth, we must make a decision, one which will determine our eternal destiny. Many people will choose to opt out, denying these truths. For them it will be a grave mistake!
There is but one way to eternal life, one way which will save us from eternal destruction, and that way is by believing in Jesus Christ! He is the way, the only way to heaven. Without Him we are doomed for eternal destruction.
We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God! Not one of us is perfect, not one of us is worthy of salvation. Jesus Christ took all of our sins upon Himself and gave His life on the cross as a sacrifice so that we may have life eternal. It’s not He who deserved to be nailed to that cross, but us! All of us deserve the penalty that Jesus got. But He loves us so much that He took it all upon Himself, that my friends is unconditional love! That is the truth!
Without God we are nothing, can do nothing, and will go nowhere good! This is the truth! You can believe it or not, but it remains the truth. Many will choose not to believe and even deny these things, and that is their choice to make.
I thank God each and every day for what He has done in my place. For the love that He shows me, for all that He provides, and for all that He does! Without Him I am nothing, but with Him I am justified, sanctified, and one day glorified in His presence!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
