Prepare to meet your Maker!

God is alive

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Yeshua HaMashiach, The Lord, our God, Jesus Christ!  The one and only Savior of the world!

Prepare to meet your maker, the time is short and wickedness abounds.  Whether or not you are a saved, born-again child of the living God, you will meet your maker!  One way or the other.

Time is of the essence, we have but a mere speck of it left before the rapture of the church and the beginning of the Tribulation period!

Nuclear destruction threatens the lives of billions of people upon this planet we call earth.  Full blown nuclear war is but a step away!  The Middle East and the rest of the world is a powder keg just waiting for the right moment to explode.  During the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, many Americans built bomb shelters for this very reason, yet it was nothing compared to how the world is today!  Escalating tensions with the then Soviet Union, prompted many people to build underground bomb shelters.

1961 – Kennedy urges Americans to build bomb shelters

President John F. Kennedy, speaking on civil defense, advises American families to build bomb shelters to protect them from atomic fallout in the event of a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union. Kennedy also assured the public that the U.S. civil defense program would soon begin providing such protection for every American. Only one year later, true to Kennedy’s fears, the world hovered on the brink of full-scale nuclear war when the Cuban Missile Crisis erupted over the USSR’s placement of nuclear missiles in Cuba. During the tense 13-day crisis, some Americans prepared for nuclear war by buying up canned goods and completing last-minute work on their backyard bomb shelters.

Both the Soviet Union and the Cuban missile crises passed, however, today it is much different.  Many nations have since acquired nuclear weapons, and many are not afraid to use them, in fact they relish the thought of a full-blown nuclear war!

The Muslim nations believe that they can usher in the coming of their Mahdi, their redeemer, by creating world disasters!  They do not fear death, for they believe that they will be martyrs for Allah and the men will receive seventy-two virgins after they die!  What do the women get?  I’ve heard they don’t get anything, but they are beautiful and happy!

The signs of the end times are all around us, one only has to open their eyes and see!  Look at all of the atrocities happening in the world today, look at the increased sin, evil, wickedness, and chaos in the world!  Look at all of the natural signs, deadly earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, super storms, etc over the past few years!  There are also signs in the heavens, supernatural signs upon the earth, and things which have never before been written about in human history!

Have you ever wondered, if you are a believer, why people around you are making decisions which to you make absolutely no sense?!  Why the world seems to be oblivious to the horrors around them?  The things of this world have been twisted, contorted, and changed!  What was seen as good before is now seen as evil, and vice versa.

The people living in the world doing good are being seen as evil, and the evil as good!  Just as scripture states.

There are many Christians who believe that the judgments in the book of Revelation are already upon us!  If this were true, then the Tribulation period has already began!  And if it has, then why hasn’t the Antichrist been revealed to us?  These Christians must not believe in a pre-Tribulation rapture of the church, perhaps mid-Trib or post-Trib, or maybe even no-Trib!  However, if any of these were true, what would be the purpose?  I mean, why even rapture the church at all?  What is the purpose of the rapture anyway?  Since we know Christ is returning, then why rapture the church just before He returns?  And why rapture the church during the middle of God’s wrath upon the world?  Did God remove Lot and his family from Sodom and Gomorrah during the wrath He poured out upon them, or before?  Did God remove Noah and his family from the great flood during the flood, or before it began?

The same is true of the Tribulation period, God will remove the righteous before His wrath upon the world, just as He has done in the past!  We must believe God, and have faith in what He will do for His beloved children!

All I can tell you is what I believe to be the truth from God’s word, the pre-Tribulation rapture of the church!  I’m still here, so the Tribulation period has not begun yet!  The Antichrist has not yet been revealed, and God has not poured out His wrath upon the world, also known as “The Day of the Lord”.

There is judgment upon the nations, yet this is not the Tribulation period.  There are signs and wonders in the world, yet they are not the judgments of God spoken of in the book of Revelation!  They are merely a foreshadowing of things to come.

God is good, and He warns us before things such as this will happen!  God warns, He gives signs and wonders, so that we may know ahead of time, before it’s time, just in time!  Just as He has always done in the past.

Major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, super storms, increased evil and violence, the hardening of hearts, increased persecution of Christians and Jews, all signs, all warnings that our time is short and the rapture of the church is coming soon, the Tribulation period is about to begin, and the second coming of Christ is at hand, even at the door my friends!

When I read and study scripture, I only see a pre-Tribulation rapture of the church, nothing else makes sense to me.  God tells His children what is coming, He gives us advanced warnings.  If we know, and we do, that the beginning of the Tribulation period will be marked by the revealing of the Antichrist, then why do we need all of the other warnings that Jesus told us about?!

Daniel 9:27

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;  But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.  And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.

He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week, this is speaking of the Antichrist at the beginning of the Tribulation period!

And the Antichrist will not be revealed until He is taken out of the way.  Just who is this He?  I believe that it is the church filled with the Holy Spirit of God!

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

The day of the Lord is the Tribulation period, this is when God will pour out His wrath upon the wicked, not before.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Read it, study it, take it as you will.  As for me, I shall continue to believe in a pre-Tribulation rapture of the church, I shall be ready at all times!

When President Kennedy told the American people to get ready by building bomb shelters, I believe that what he should have told them was to prepare to meet your maker!  Get right with God, this is the first and foremost thing anyone could do.  Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. There are prophecies in the Bible that need to be fulfilled, the Psalm 84 war, the Ezekiel 38 war, the coming of the Anti-Christ, the MARK, and the 144,000 going throughout the world, surely these have to come to pass first?
If the world goes through a Nuclear war some if not all these prophecies cannot be fulfilled.

    • Thanks for your comment Daveed!

I’ve thought about that myself Daveed. Surely some of these prophecies could be fulfilled with a nuclear war. Of course, if the entire Middle East were wiped out by nuclear war, then perhaps you are right. However, we just don’t really know how it will all play out. Maybe these are signs of just how close we really are to the Tribulation period for that very reason!

The point is that we are nearing the end of the age, we all need to wake up and come to Jesus. He is our only hope, our only salvation!

      God bless!

  2. Pre-trib rapture all the way! God lifted up Enoch after a walk sparing him from the judgment coming upon the world. God lifted up Noah and his family inside the ark sparing them the judgment of the world flood. The Lord’s messengers literally snatched Lot and his daughters out of Sodom to spare them from the doom of Gods judgment. .
    Yours Truly,

  3. Hi Gordon. Thank you for your ministry. I am 100% pre-trib as well, and believe that a thorough, rightly dividing study of the scriptures leads to only one conclusion; the pretribulational rapture of the Church. However, most/all of my biblical mentors, including my pastor are post, mid-trib at best, so I thought I would come to you with my question. I can’t wrap my mind around 2 Thess 2: 1-3. After studying this passage in my KJV (which I’ve found is the version most pre-tribbers prefer), I come to the conclusion that the anti-christ will be revealed before the Day of Christ (rapture). “Now we beseech you, bretheren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the Day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perfition.” 2 Thess 2:1-3. Would you break this apart for me and help me understand. I know we are not waiting for the anti- christ, we are waiting for the Blessed Hope. Thank you so much in advance.

    • Thanks for your question Lyndsey!

Lets first start with the scriptures:

      2 Thessalonians 2:1-7
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.”

That day will not come unless the “falling away” comes first, then the man of sin is revealed (the Antichrist). Verse 7 tells us that “He” who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way, then the Antichrist will be revealed.

I believe that “He” who is now restraining is referring to the Holy Spirit filled church! And the “falling away” could either mean when the church is removed there will be a falling away from the faith, for those who were not truly saved, or it could mean the church actually “departing” or “leaving” as told in the Strong’s concordance.

The term falling away is used in the KJV, however, other versions use “apostasy”, or in the Greek “apostasia”.

      apostasia: defection, revolt
      Original Word: ἀποστασία, ας, ἡ
      Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
      Transliteration: apostasia
      Phonetic Spelling: (ap-os-tas-ee’-ah)
      Short Definition: defection, apostasy
      Definition: defection, apostasy, revolt.

      HELPS Word-studies

646 apostasía (from 868 /aphístēmi, “leave, depart,” which is derived from 575 /apó, “away from” and 2476 /histémi, “stand”) – properly, departure (implying desertion); apostasy – literally, “a leaving, from a previous standing.”

Either way, the church is taken in the rapture before the Antichrist is revealed! Unless of course you don’t believe that “He who now restrains” is the Holy Spirit of God, yet if not then who else could restrain the Antichrist? It makes no sense! And if the Holy Spirit is removed, then the church must also be removed, for God gave all believers His Holy Spirit forever!

      Ephesians 1:13–14
“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

I believe that the Day of Christ includes the rapture of the church, but also Christ’s second coming and the Millennial reign of Christ on earth. However, the Day of the Lord is much different, it is the seven year Tribulation period and God’s wrath poured out upon a wicked world. The Day of Christ is for the saved, and the Day of the Lord is for the unsaved, unbelievers. Just as the Bema Seat Judgment is for believers, the Great White Throne Judgment is for unbelievers.

If the rapture of the church was not pre-Trib, then we would not be looking for Christ, but for the Antichrist! We are always to look to God, to Jesus Christ, for His return, not to the Antichrist.

      I hope this helps some!

      God bless Lyndsey! Maranatha!

    • Thanks for your comment Christine!

Well, if we study scripture, then I believe it becomes easier to see. Take a look at my page:

      The Rapture

It may help you know why. I really need to update it, since I actually have more information from scripture which helps show a “pre-Tribulation” rapture of the church.

      Such as 2 Thessalonians 2:1-7

7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

If we are to look for Jesus coming to get us, and not the Antichrist, then we must believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Or else we will have our eyes open to the Antichrist, and not Jesus Christ! This is my belief, anyone is free to believe what they want, they will still be saved. Yet, we are to be ready at all times! The pre-tribulation rapture of the church holds true to this doctrine.

If we believe in anything other than a pre-trib rapture, then we will be looking for the Antichrist before Jesus Christ, is this not true?

Keep your head up, looking for that blessed hope, for our Lord and Savior to meet us in the air! Amen.

      God bless Christine!

  4. For all practicle purposes, there will be 3 end time senarios that are played out in the bible. The world wide flood at Noah’s time was one, the conclusion of the 69th. week of Daniel which we are now entering with the concluding battle of armageddon will be the second, Then the final battle between Satan and his armies and Christ at the end of the millinium is the third. All three of these events end a time and begin a new time or age. I think that I am addressing Daveed’s point here with regards to having every duck in a row in some kind of systematic scheme for everything to happen like clockwork and on time and on schedule. Nobody alive at the time of Noah could have imagined at the time how a man would be commissioned to build an ark, spend 120 years building it and then be part of a world wide destruction by flood. God did not notify anybody about the details, He just said do it and it got done. It happened just as God designed it regardless of man. That’s the same as what is now about to happen with wars breaking out in the middle-east. Yes you can bet they will happen and mostly nuclear once they start. God is in charge of all of them getting accomplished. By the way the Christians who are being be-headed by Isis get their (rapture) soul caught up to be with the Lord the second they die. If we are true believers in Jesus then God will get us up there to be with Him and His timing will be perfect for each and every one of us.

  5. Hi Gordon, as you know I believe we will be going through the tribulation period and NOT the wrath of God. These are two different/separated issues.
I believe we will be protected. Rev.12:6 tells us the woman (church) will flee to the mountains (a place on earth not rapture), God provides a place for His elect. A way out in the sense of helping us through it, an escape from it. As in Noah’s day, God provided for his escape; as in the protection from the plagues that fell in Egypt, and the escape from Egypt with the parting of Red Sea; as in the protection of Daniel and his friends, and so many others. Ethin mention Enoch was taken up, yes he was for he was found to be a man who follow God exclusively, we are not anywhere near the calibar of man he was/is. Sorry to say. We’re still a work in progress.
We are to stay vigilant and ready like the 5 virgins. We need to learn the lesson of the fig tree. Although we do not know the day nor hour, we do know (or should know) the signs of the times as spoken by Jesus Himself on Mount Olives, and throughout the Scriptures. The birth pangs are getting closer and closer, intensifying with each passing day. We need to be in constant connection with our Lord through prayer, supplication and thanksgiving, confessing our sins immediately after one recognizes and acknowledges them, He forgives and cleanses us. And of coarse helps us not to offend again. He is there every step of the way. Believe it! It’s an individual process each of us must go through every single day, for everyday brings its own challenges. Faith moves mountains! The Holy Scriptures is our manual, our history book, in it we find God’s plan from creation to eternity.

“Immediately AFTER the tribulation…’ Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven… and they will SEE the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Jesus just spoke of the calamities to expect and be aware of, to “endure to the end…”. (Matt.24:13) then comes the immediately after… Matt.24:15 then tells us “therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation’ spoken of by Daniel…”. We need to diligently study all of Daniel and how it correlates with Revelation, (myself included). Especially, the visions with there interpretations of. The books where sealed in his day but open in our time for we are the last generation, we are living in the latter days.
Daniel 7 speaks of the political aspect then and now. Chapter 8 the spiritual aspect. Revelation 13 is the spiritual and verse 11-18 is the political/military. In so many ways history is repeating itself only thing different now is we have weapons of mass destruction and man’s heart has grown cold for lack of knowledge that is readily available in every form. Unfortunately most of society doesn’t care. They’ve been brainwashed in one way or the other not to. ‘When you see all these thing happen KNOW the time is nigh…'(Matt.24:33)

The wrath of God are the last plagues, the bowels (Rev. chpts,15 &16). The saints, redeem, firstfruits have been raptured at this point (Rev.14:1-5 note v.3; 14-16). Yet there are those who made it alive through the tribulation but were not caught up with the saints. These will be separated into two groups, the sheep and the goats. The absolute wicked are dead waiting the 1000 years to end. But those who sat on the fence, undecided will be reaping the wrath of God. Hence the proclamation of the three angels. The last pitch for the remainders to get their act together. So many will not. And so the reason to be right with God now and be among the first fruits, the first resurrection. You must believe in the testimony of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) and be obedient to His commandments for this is man’s all.

This is how I see the scenario playing out you can agree or disagree. I believe in a sovereign God of love and mercy. I believe in His power to save, even a wretched like myself, by trusting in His word and doing my best to live by His standards in this present world and be counted worthy to be sheltered and saved, and be among the elect. We will all go through the tribulation NOT all will go through the wrath of God. God bless.
May the grace of God be with us all. May He give us His wisdom and understanding. I pray in Jesus’ holy name. Stay faithful.

P.S. The great white throne judgment is totally for the wicked, unsaved.

    • Thanks for your comments SweetJava!

I appreciate your beliefs, however, I do not agree with all of them. You know what I believe, and now I know what you believe, and that’s ok! We will find out soon enough. What truly matters is our faith in Jesus Christ. Amen.

      God bless sister! Maranatha!

  6. Thank you Gordon. Thank you for admitting we defer slightly in our approach to biblical studies, instead of putting me down outright. As yourself, I too have had my own share of mockers. Yet, we learn from one another and hopefully grow. At the very least we see a different view which makes us look and research deeper God’s word. And with prayers to our Lord to help us and give us His Spirit of Wisdom to understand.

I just want us to be ready for the possibility, my friend, not be disappointed or discouraged if it doesn’t happen before. But be aware that He WILL come, on His timetable. As you have said ‘we will find out soon enough’.
    God bless you, always.

    • Thank you SweetJava!

I know that many times I write about my beliefs and state why, and at times I may sound degrading to other believers with a different view. However, this is never my intention, I am just passionate in my beliefs and trying to make a point.

I respect your beliefs, we are all still on a learning journey, trying to discover all of the truth of God! Amen.

God bless sister! He will becoming soon, this we know! Amen?

  7. Hi Gordon it’s Rebecca. I was some how unsubscribed and can’t find where to subscribe again. Would you be so kind to point me in the right direction. 🙂 I like getting all your posts emailed to me. Thank you!

    • Hello sister Rebecca!

If you look to the right hand column of the website, then scroll down just underneath my book “Overcoming the Darkness with Jesus Christ”, you will see the visitor total, and right below that is the “Follow” button.

I hope and pray that all is well with you and your family! May God bless, guide, and protect you and your family! In Jesus name, Amen.

  8. I believe that The Lord has laid it on my heart to pray that all mites minor irritations within the body will not be allowed to take away from the health of the body and that so long as we are in agreement on the fundamental truth of the Gospel we will be able to function as one body in Christ, agreeing to disagree in some aspects that are not fundamental and do not hurt the faith of others.
However, for myself I do believe in a pre trib rapture and believe we are to pray to be counted worthy to escape what is to come (tribulation, wrath, ) We must keep oil in our lamps and not be asleep or being careless, I believe that when The Church is taken up then it is the end of the church age and the Jews will have the scales removed from their eyes and will recognise Jesus as their Messiah and they will be the elect on Earth at that time. 144,000 preaching the Gospel and witnessing with signs and wonders. I am looking for the return of The Lord in the clouds and not the revealing of the Anti Christ first, although I believe the anti Christ spirit is already at work in preparation for the revealing….. already people are falling away from revering the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God in The Bible as truth. even so called Christians ( although I doubt they are saved because Jesus would not renounce Himself and He is The Word ). I believe there is a real urgent call to prayer and intercession and preaching of the Gospel for and to the lost now as they will have to face the tribulation without the Church if they don’t come to faith before the rapture and because of prayer and hearing the Gospel they might just be saved after and not take the mark of the beast . . I have a real sense of urgency for this work that I would not have if I thought we would all be going through the tribulation together. I think the time is short.

  9. Thank you Gordon.
If I may I would like to clarify my pompous remark regarding Enoch-
He was a man who walked with God, knew His testimony and pleased God, that he was translated to heaven without seeing death to be with God.
Man without the Holy Spirit in us cannot compare. We can strive to achieve to please God only with His Holy Spirit in us, to guide us. And His grace given us upon accepting His love, His gift; to know His testimony, His commandments, believe in the name of Jesus. He’s the only one who washes our sins away. This is man’s all.
Knowing God comes true liberty, true love, true brotherhood for we weren’t created to live alone.
    We’re definitely on a journey of forever learning…Through Jesus, with Jesus, for Jesus, we strive to accomplish our God given potential till we too walk with Him, ourselves;

“till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every win of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head –Christ–
from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor first”, for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all thing to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God. Eph.4:13-5:21

“Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen” Eph.6:23,24
The Lord lead me to remind ourselves of His calling, with love to all.
    God bless. Maranatha!

  10. I’m thankful that the Rapture of the church is just that “of the Church” and non-other. The primary reason that a later rapture than at the beginning of the 7 yr perliod doesn’t work is because the Anti-Christ will be on earth. A later rapture doesn’t work with the church worldwide being on earth contemporary with the anti-Christ, because the entire church would be under immediate sentence of death by anti-Christ. I’ll have to stay with the Apostle Paul on his revelation of a pre-trib rapture being imminent even to himself. No Christian who I know who is pre-trib rapture would ever think of having a feeling of let down, or not being prepared enough to go into the tribulation because they weren’t raptured pre-trib, no ha! ha!’s after the fact saying “I told you so” that’s silly to think that way. Because pre-trib means we are looking up NOW we are ready NOW, we are watching NOW, we are prepared NOW, we love His appearing NOW, we are getting off this demonic possessed rock NOW. I’ve often had a sense and it is only that a “sense” that maybe those who are not looking up, prepared, ready, NOW may have their anticipation of going through the tribulation fulfilled by being left behind. That’s only sense, and a strong one.

    • Thanks for your comment Ethin!

I agree with you brother! Not all believers do agree with the pre-trib rapture doctrine, yet I wholeheartedly do, and for many reasons. Yet, I also believe as you do, that we are ready now, prepared now, watching now, and looking up now! It’s about the imminent return of Jesus Christ for the church.

I have heard before about those not believing in a pre-trib rapture may be left behind and I have thought about it. However, I believe that the “Restrainer who is taken out of the way” to be the Holy Spirit filled church. This would include “all” of the saints, if not then the Holy Spirit would still be here.

Once the Restrainer is taken out of the way, then the Antichrist will be revealed, yet there will be people getting saved after this time, and the Holy Spirit will once again come into them, just as He did us. And the 144,000 Jewish believers will also have the Holy Spirit of God. Yet, all of these believers will either be executed, or go through the tribulation period. This is my view, just trying to figure it all out.

And this is yet another reason why I believe in a pre-trib rapture, those who are faithful to God before the Tribulation period will not have to go through this period. Those who waited, who did not believe prior to this time will go through the Tribulation period. God will reward the faithful, not punish them.

      God bless!

  11. Keep up the Good work Gordon, stay in the fight, remain strong, yours is not an easy ministry that’s why you are being so effective.

    • Thank you brother Ethin!

I appreciate the encouragement, and it is much needed! I can feel the demonic spirits attempting to pull me down, but they will not succeed! For I know that God is in me, He is with me, and it is His strength and courage, not mine, that has already defeated the enemy! Amen.

For with Christ I can do all things, by His power, in His name, and by His blood!

      God bless Ethin!

  12. I have one question, Do you believe the Great Tribulation and the Wrath of God are one and the same..?..
For this seems to be the core of our disagreement; where we seem to have our differences.

I too, believe/agree on the urgency of the hour. I too, believe in prayer and intercession. I too, believe our Lord is on the threshold. I too, believe we must be ready NOW, have our armor on. We are fighting evil entities, who are manifesting themselves even greater in our lifetime (for they know their time is limited.) “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph. 6:12)

God works with us, in us according to His will and our willingness to let Him. We shall see (and are seeing) His saving power to keep us safe and preserve us in our trials and tribulations. Trials and tribulations has been around since the fall of man. As I see it, the great tribulation is an accumulation of everything evil happening all at once, (the Good Book tell us it will be a time like no other or ever be again, it will be a time like the days of Noah…) leading to the deceiver coming out in the open, after creating the mess in the first place with his minions. He fools people by pretending to be God himself, fools them into thinking he can fix it along with his minions and human accomplices. (a good reason we must be alert and not be caught in the deception!)
Jesus, the Apostles, the Prophets, writers of the Scriptures attest to this. History repeating itself through the generation, for nothing is new under the sun. Only the cover of how it’s presented has changed through the centuries. Knowledge has increased as predicted; with humans (the humanly scientific minds) wanting to be gods, and some religions convincing the masses we are all gods of ourselves, we are all one. And so the lies continue…

I defer in believing the separation of Satan’s wrath from God’s wrath. We will be in one but not the other.
Aren’t we already seeing the accumulation of evil and the progression intensifying. Aren’t we already feeling something big is about to happen..?.. Aren’t we being condition to accept the mark of the beast, being peddled as a convenience for our everyday chores made easier; aren’t we being conditioned to accept outer space beings as ancestral beings of greater knowledge to help fix our planet..?.., and so on. We are on the threshold of (and in some ways there) this happening in our lifetime. We are the last generation, we are living the latter days. “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matt. 24:13)
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2Tim.2:3) “For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. (1Peter 2:19) Be of good cheer Jesus has conquered and holds the key to life everlasting.

In the days of old God promised He would ALWAYS be with us, through it all. He never lies!
Jesus, Himself went through His own trials and tribulations and while making atonement with His spilled blood, He asked the Father not to take us out of the world BUT to preserve us from evil. “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from evil.” (John 17:15 His prayer to the Father upon His crucifixion.)
I believe we will be preserve and protected until our Lord and Savior appears in the skies where all eyes will see Him approach to take us home, first the dead (who died believing in Him) will be resurrected and then we the living, will be translated. And the saints/elect/redeemed will be caught up with Him. Praise His Holy Name!
We are to dispel the fear and focus on the light, the love of Jesus Christ.

Everyone has their own walk with God as individuals, and the reason to have a personal relationship with Him. Not give up when times get tough but focus on His love for He takes care of His own!

May our Lord continue to enlighten us, strengthen us and preserve us to do and be in His will. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
    God bless.

    • Thanks for your comment SweetJava!

I believe that the Wrath of God will happen during the Great Tribulation period. I do not believe that it is a time of Satan’s wrath, but God’s wrath upon an evil and wicked world. Satan came down to earth before Adam and Eve were created, and he has brought his wrath with him ever since.

I also believe that the entire seven year Tribulation period is a “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”, a time for the Jews to come to Christ, not the church.

I believe that the age we are now living in is coming to an end, the “church age”.

These are my beliefs, not to argue, but to show you where I am coming from.

I am just wondering something SweetJava, I would like to know your thoughts on this. How would you explain 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8

“And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.”

The lawless one will be revealed only after “He who not restrains” is taken out of the way. Just who is “He who now restrains”? We know that the lawless one is the Antichrist, but he will only be revealed after He who now restrains is taken out of the way.

I believe that the only one who could restrain Satan and the Antichrist is God, the Holy Spirit who is living within believers. Who else on earth could do this? And if the Holy Spirit is removed, then the church must be removed as well, for God told us the He would always be with us. So, if this is true, then believers will not be around to find out just who the Antichrist is at the beginning of the Tribulation period.

      God bless SweetJava! Maranatha!

  13. Hi Gordon, hope this day finds you well. I’ve been contemplating your question, and I’ve just now have a few minutes to respond.

I respect your beliefs, as we both travel the road into knowing and becoming closer to God and our Lord Jesus Christ. The belief in our Lord and Savior is paramount to our survival in this jungle of a civilization we find ourselves living in, and what’s coming down the road in our life time… We both agree time’s ticking and everything will be revealed in God’s timetable.
That being said, I believe the Great Tribulation and God’s Wrath/bowels of plagues are separate, as you know. I agree there’s a lot going on in the tribulation that can be considered God’s wrath. This struggle-for-power issue of Satan’s And us smack in the middle of this controversy with our own disobedient state is what God is trying to tell us and warn us about, to be in the world but not part of the world (living according to the world’s standards). But to get out of and be in His grace, producing the fruit of the Spirit. Life will be difficult but with Him the chances of survival are assured, (the story ends well). God always informs us first, it’s up to us to heed His word/message and be prepared in all ways. God has given us this gift in the forgiveness of sins, through Jesus, we receive atonement and sanctification. The hope of living with Him in a loving, caring environment without the pettiness, destructive, evil nature we currently have. Without evil hovering over us. Only by believing, confession, repentance, trusting Jesus are we able to come out of life’s difficulties, unscathed. It’s not to say we won’t have bumps and bruises along the way, we are all human and sin, and in need of the blood of Jesus to cleanse us, daily. With sincere prayer and repentance, He forgives us, guides us, assures us, protects us, through our life journey. We need to endure whatever comes our way, (Matt.24:13). It’s that simple, by letting Him into one’s heart He changes us from the inside, little by little you’ll see the changes, (the things you used to like, doesn’t attract you and the things you once didn’t care for, you embrace). But if we should continue to give the reigns to the other one (the dragon), in breaking God’s law, we have no excuse but to receive the punishment allotted to those who break the law (disobey). Those who do not want or care to believe, those who show no remorse in doing evil, you’ve condemned yourselves already. Sins that aren’t confess aren’t forgiven, meaning you carry your punishment already for your crimes, for lack of self-control, belief, confession and repentance.
Those who persevere have a purpose to spread Jesus’ message, as He did when He was among us. He left us His Spirit to emulate Him in deed with malice toward none, come what may. He left us not, orphans but with His power to continue on till that glorious day. IF we choose to accept Him at His word in our hearts, this day and every day following… A matter of choice, freely given, not demanded as the dragon will soon have us do, disguising himself first so not to appear the evil one he is. Be forewarn, watchful and resist any pull. Praying always for every need and thankful.

The Great Tribulation is about punishment from both sides. Satan’s wrath/rage will fully manifest in its intensity upon the children of God who obey God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus, (Rev.12:17-chp.13) for he knows he cannot win us over. We will be tested. It’s not a time to coward but trust in His saving grace (and the spirit to overcome). Always looking up! The tide is shifting and the dragon is causing havoc already. Satan hates us, he has and will do everything in his power to change our thinking, our focus away from the spiritual, the meaningful life of Jesus Christ our Savior. And what He has done for us on the cross by redeeming us and providing an opportunity for eternal life with Him through His atonement, God’s grace. The dragon knows, he forfeit his. He knows his time is short, he knows his sentence is sure. Yet, along the way he destroys everything in his path, destroys anyone oppose to his demands with the help of his minions, toward his last stand. In his warp sense of arrogance he actually believes he can still win, (even after he’s release from his chains, post 1000 yrs.).

One day soon, everyone will have to make a choice (if not chosen already) on where our allegiance lies. It will be a difficult time (like no other), as we get closer to Jesus’ advent. And so we’re ask to pray our persecution not be in winter or on the Sabbath, (Matt.24:20). BUT for the elect sake, time will be shorten, (Mat.24:22). Be faithful till the end and hang in there, Jesus has our backs. His power is in and with us.

In my opinion, the way I see it, and why it’s call the Great Tribulation is it encompasses Satan’s rage that causes intense havoc on God’s children with his own mark (of the beast), false prophet, etc. (Rev.12). And God’s judgments (the seals [Rev.6], which mention the four horsemen, the martyrs, two witness, God’s followers sealed; the trumpets.) on a disobedient/perverted world. Soon after the last trumpet blows, Jesus appears with all His glory. Followed by the wrath of God. Strong reason to be ready NOW, be prepare for anything, having a strong alliance with Jesus will prepare us to be worthy to be in the first resurrection where the second death can’t hurt us, (Rev. 20:6).

The Wrath of God/bowels of plagues (Rev.16) are for the wicked that they might change their mind (and be invited to the bridal supper). Most curse their situation. Those with the mark of the beast are already doomed, their allegiance was sealed at their acceptance of. The elect are caught up with Jesus at His appearance. I believe it happens one after the other.
The tribulation period although awful, a difficult time, is a time for rejoicing because ‘every eye will see’ (Rev.1:7) Jesus appearing with all His glory as King of kings and Lord of lords coming to give everyone their just reward. And the end of Satan’s reign. This is our hope. We must not loose heart, but persevere, always looking up. (For aren’t we seeing Matt.24 play out, aren’t we seeing prophecy unfold and being fulfilled, can’t we feel the intensity gaining momentum…?) Fear not. Be strong, come what may.

I agree with you, the church era is coming to a closed and our time is greatly shortening.

Jer.30:7 “Alas for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.” Trouble has been and shall continue to be in our mist to the acceleration and accumulation, of the end of time. The verse speaks of the tribulation period, but we will be saved out of it, (faith like Jacob had in God, we too must have). Mind you it doesn’t say caught-up (yet), but ‘saved out of’. God is always with those who love Him, always there to save us from trouble, with sincere prayer, He provides us an escape route.

And finally, the answer to your question,
My understanding of 2Thes. 2:6-8 begins with the whole chapter. Revolt (apostasy). The word is used in a religious implication, people that followed Jesus / the Apostles, scattered or drew away from the truth of the word of the Gospel. (see Heb.3:12)

    2 Thess.2
“To turn now, brothers, to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we shall be gathered around Him; please do not get excited too soon or alarmed by any prediction or rumor or any letter claiming to come from us, implying that the Day of the Lord has already arrived. Never let anyone deceive you in this way. It cannot happen until the Great Revolt has taken place and the Rebel, the Lost One, has appeared. This is the Enemy, the one who claims to be so much greater than all that men call ‘god’, so much greater than anything that is worshiped that he enthrones himself in God’s sanctuary and claims that he is God. Surely you remember me telling you about this when I was with you?
(vs.6-8) And you know, too, what is still holding Him back from appearing before His appointed time. Rebellion is at its work already, but in secret, and the one who is holding it back has first to be removed before the Rebel appears openly. The Lord will kill him with the breath of His mouth and will annihilate him with His glorious appearance at His coming.
(v.9) But when the Rebel comes, Satan will set to work: there will be all kinds of miracles and a deceptive show of signs and portents, and everything evil that can deceive those who are bound for destruction because they would not grasp the love of the truth which could have saved them. The reason why God is sending a power to delude them and make them believe what is untrue is to condemn all who refused to believe in the truth and chose wickedness instead.
But we feel that we must be continually thanking God for you, brothers whom the Lord loves, because God chose you from the beginning to be saved by the sanctifying Spirit and by faith in the truth. Through the Good News that we brought he called you to this so that you should share the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Stand firm, then, brother, and keep the traditions that we taught you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God the Father who has given us his love and through his grace, such inexhaustible comfort and such sure hope, comfort you and strengthen you in everything good that you do or say.”

Seems like the Rebels (in the Rebellion) are those who never belonged to Christ, but also those who have given up the faith, (consider Eze.28:2; 1Tim.4:12; Joh 3:19).
‘The apostasy will be due to a being who is given three names: He is the ‘Rebel’ [‘man of lawlessness’, or ‘man of sin’]. He is being destined to be lost [‘son of perdition’] (v.10; Joh 17:12; 1 Thes. 5:5). He is the enemy of God, described in terms reminiscent to the description of Antiochus Epiphanes in Daniel 11:36. Later on in Christian tradition, based on Daniel he is called the Antichrist, (1Joh 2:18; 4:3). Unlike Satan whose tool he is, and who is already at work in ‘secret’ (v,7), the lawless one is represented as a person who will be revealed at the ‘end of time’, and whose power will persecute and seduce Christians. On the final ‘test’, that will only come to an end with the coming of Christ, (Mat. 24:24; Rev.13:1-8).
verse 6 – Talks about Jesus being delayed by something, someone, some power blocks the coming of Christ by preventing the manifestation of the Messiah’s enemy who must precede the coming of the true Messiah Himself. Rebellion (lawlessness) is going on, but it is underground, secretly preparing for the great revolt. When the restriction is removed whatever it is or who it is (for we are not told, it’s assume its the Holy Spirit or God the Father. A power that stops Jesus’ arrival before the appointed time.) This power is removed letting the lawless one be unmask and reign for a short time. ‘The revealing of the Rebel is the counterpart of the revealing of Christ.’ We know Satan will imitate Christ’s coming and fix the world’s problems. The enemy of God becomes the enemy of Christ, but Christ will conquer his enemy (v.8). ‘The Rebel is the instrument through which Satan works, (like in 1Thes. 2:18) and whom he endows with superhuman power rather as Christ endows us (His followers) with His own Spirit. (the dragon and the beast of Rev. 13:2-4)’

‘Truth and untruth has both a religious and intellectual connection for it involves the whole of human life and activity.’ One either stands for one or the other (one cannot be lukewarm). We are striving for truth in a world who has lost the meaning of… The message in the end is of encouragement to persevere, not give up, no matter what the world throws at us. Jesus promised He’s NEVER leave us. There is power in His name and through Him in us. We’re to stand on His word.

We are already seeing the Revolt, the turning away from everything that’s deals with the Good News of Jesus Christ. It won’t be long now for him (lawless one) to fully reveal himself with superhuman power. I believe he’s already here, it’s just a matter of time for the powers that be to be removed so he can shed his mask and declare himself. (In my opinion with the state of the world the way it is it won’t be long.) Too much is happening world-wide and all coming to a head – we can feel it, timing is around the corner. We’re dealing with principalities in high places… We must be sober and watchful of the seasons. Crucial to be right with God, NOW.

“Therefore I endure all things for the elect sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.” (see all 2 Tim. 2:10-13). Amen

The Lord has placed the above in my heart.
I’m not as eloquent with words as you are Gordon, and I get a bit extensive… I hope I made some sense of where I’m coming from. In the end He’s in control, we need to heed His message of love and forgiveness, of brotherhood and respect, of trust and understanding, of loving Him completely and our fellowman. All will be revealed in due season. Stay watchful, always looking up.
“May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” (2 Thes. 3:18). God bless. Maranatha!
And thank you Gordon, for listening.
(I’ve quoted from NKJV, The Jerusalem Bible, KJV, along with a few ‘side notes’ that have been tweak, from my Jerusalem Bible that expresses my thoughts best.) God be with us all.

    • Thank you for your comments SweetJava! I appreciate the time you took to compose such a thorough message.

I was only wondering just where you are coming from and how you see things. I am still not quite sure just what you believe about the rapture, except it that you don’t believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, and it really doesn’t matter to me if you believe in mid, post, or no trib. So lets just leave it at that. I am just trying to understand other believers viewpoints. We all don’t see everything the same way, and thats ok, we’re all learning and growing.

Believe me, I am not very eloquent with my words, I just try to explain things so that everyone can understand them.

I know that God is always in control, and that in the end we shall be with Him forever! This is what truly matters.

Take care SweetJava and God bless my friend! Maranatha!

  14. I’m a post trib believer, Gordon (as I had hoped to convey). I’m looking forward to our Lord’s coming to take us home, regardless of the state of our planet. As long as I try to emulate Him as much as possible, produce the fruits of His Spirit as He would want me to while living here, is all that matters.

Our views may differ, but the main point is having faith that Jesus is who He says He is. Having a personal relationship with Him and trusting Him in everything and for everything in our lives is what counts. Our belief that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing this we may have life through His name, is our main concern.

We’re all growing in that faith, my friend. The trick is not to loose it with the trials of life. Love conquers all evil.

And don’t kid yourself Gordon, you have a gift of expressing yourself that is a pleasure to read.
I pray nothing but the best for you, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Maranatha!
