Commentary By: Gordon King
It seems sort of funny to me in a strange way, that even though the world is in chaos, people continue on with their lives as if nothing at all unusual or out of the ordinary is happening.
I hear people daily speak about sports, television, and shopping. I see them prepare for the weekend as if this was the most significant thing occurring in the world today, and for them I guess it is! There is nothing wrong with any of these things, however, they don’t seemed concerned one bit about how the world around them is falling apart!
This in and of itself should be a warning sign to all of us that we are closer to the second coming of Christ! However, there is another sign which is happening more and more each and everyday, that is the increase of the spirit of antichrist in the world. As the return of Christ gets closer, the spirit of antichrist will increase!
1 John 4:2-3
“By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.“
I don’t know about you, but I have either become much more sensitive to this spirit, or it is increasing drastically! Maybe both! People in the world are much more vocal today in persecuting Christians and Jesus Christ then I have ever before seen in my lifetime.
1 John 2:18
“Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.“
People of the secular world seem oblivious to the facts of what is happening in the world around them, they have no sense of right or wrong, and they scoff and mock at believers in Jesus Christ! They act as if they have all the answers, as if whatever they conjure up in their minds is the truth.
The sad thing is that many people who claim to be Christians, who go to church, and say that they are “good” people, are not believers in Jesus Christ! They give lip service only, they go through the motions, yet they don’t know God.
Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ “
None of us are perfect, not even believers in Jesus Christ. Yet, we are saved, we are forgiven, and we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. This does not mean that we should not follow the laws and commands of God, of course we should! But, we will at times stumble, we will make mistakes, or sometimes even sin of our own will, however, God will forgive us.
I hear many lost people say “Christians are always telling people what to do or not do, yet Christians do the same things as non-Christians!” I have to agree with that to some extent, many Christians do tell the lost how to act or not act, yet they themselves are acting in sin.
Romans 2:21-24
“you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal? 22 You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law. 24 For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.“
This is another reason for believers to live a godly life, not as the world lives, but as Jesus Christ lived! Of course none of us are perfect and we will at times stumble, but we should strive to set an example for the lost. I also believe that we should stand for what is righteous, and at the same time not condemn the lost for the sins they commit. They are, after all, sinners! What we should be doing is helping them to find the truth, leading them to the cross, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We should uncover the darkness in the world, we should point out what is wrong with society and stand for what is righteous and good. But we must be careful in pointing out individual sins, since we ourselves were sinners and at times still sin. We should first seek to remove the sin in ourselves! We should be the light and salt of the earth, setting an example for what is godly.
Matthew 7:3-5
“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.“
Galatians 6:1
“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.“
We should treat others as we wish to be treated. If we wish to be treated with love and kindness, then we should treat others the same way!
Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.“
The world doesn’t see themselves as “sinners”, they only see what they want to see for the benefit of their own lives! Whether it be the truth or a lie, they will make it conform to their lifestyle. With the increase in the antichrist spirit, many will not listen to the truth, nor will they take kindly to a Christian telling them how they should live. There is no speaking to these individuals about Jesus Christ or godly values, as they have already determined what is right in their mind’s eye. In that case the most we can do is pray for them, and show them the love of God!
Matthew 7:6
“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.“
The world is an ugly place right now, and is about to get even uglier! Being a Christian is not easy, it takes time, dedication, faith, and devotion. It takes Jesus Christ living within us to fight the battle, to stand firm and strong in our convictions, to live courageously and remain steadfast in our walk to eternity!
The world needs to know that it’s not about us as believers, not about what we do or don’t do, it’s all about Jesus Christ! It’s about who He is, what He has done, and what He can do! The thing is, they don’t see that, they see us. We have to show them the love of Christ and what He has done for us, and what He can do for them!
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
Amen to that!
A personal relationship with Jesus is our key. How does one have a relationship with Him..? by personally accepting, receiving Him into one’s heart. By accepting Jesus’ testimony of who He is and where He came from. By humbly praying for change in our own life, living as if Jesus was coming today; being ready. By faith and obeying His principals – His commandments. How can we know Him? Through His word.
The Holy B I B L E… B stands for basic, I for instruction, B for before, L for leaving, E for earth; Basic instructions before leaving earth. I heard this saying and I totally agree. Scriptures’ is our manual, our instruction book, our history book. It tells us where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. AND it ends well for those who keep His words therein. How we behave here, whose testimony we believe in, whose allegiance we give ourselves to determines our present and future destiny.
The world is very perplexed, yet The Gospel gives the world a chance to be saved. Even in a world of uncertainty, through its pages we learn our beginnings (Old Testament), we learn of Jesus, we learn from Jesus (New Testament). Becoming aware of Him, through His death and resurrection we have a new beginning, His Spirit in us and our example to the world at large, by emulating His simplicity.
I too have found Gordon, that most people just don’t want to hear about Our Lord (their hearts have grown cold) and the coming (and already here) calamities don’t seem to phase them. ‘Life always fixes itself’ is their motto. It’s incredible to me how they go about their business as usual (as you have pointed out), not knowing it’s a matter of eternal life or death – this I put in the hands of the clergymen who are suppose to TEACH the word, especially prophecy and where we are in time. But they hide it and give the masses half truths, traditions, fables to ponder. Instead of truth straight from the Holy Word. Meanwhile time is ever ticking forward and towards it’s conclusion. This world has turn a blind eye, trusting in man rather than a Heavenly Creator.
I believe in the truth of the Holy Scriptures’ in its entirety, not on any preconceived ideas i may have. But what the Book can teach me with prayer for wisdom and discernment, letting it speak to me through its pages.
I too have concluded that prayer, love and by example is the only way to reach these individuals. Love is the foundation of God’s government! So even though they may mock me, true love is voluntary and they have the right to say “No, thank you.” It’s in God’s hands. I try to plant a seed of why I believe. Each of us has the ability/power to choose; make our own choices. This is free will to choose one’s destiny for ourselves. Woe to the individual who chooses not to follow Jesus, His protection will not be able to cover them when time gets worst, for Our Lord does not force anyone into loving Him. It’s a gift to accept or reject.
As for me, my focus is on God’s grace, His kingdom, His forgiveness. I’m far from being perfect and so every day I ask Him into my life, my heart to help me be a better person to everyone I come in contact with. Help me to do His will. There’s a promise of HOPE in Jesus and this is what I cling too. We’re going home soon in spite of the evil one’s constant threat. I choose to listen to God for He IS greater, Creator of all of us. Including the evil one.. God made Lucifer, the light bearer, an arch angel NOT what he chose to become! We all have a choice, choose wisely! God bless. Maranatha!
Thank you again Gordon, may Our Lord keep inspiring you with His simplicity.
Yesterday, in a public place, I saw a TV ad for the show “Lucifer.” A nearby woman’s reaction was: “I’m gonna have to watch that. That looks good.” It made me think how, 50 years ago, such a show would not even be allowed to exist; now the topic is alluring. The antichrist spirit certainly exists.
More specifically, I believe the evidence points to the one and only Antichrist being here in power now, and likely to be fully revealed and bring us into the great tribulation this year:

Pingback: The “antichrist” spirit is alive! | MANY PROPHETIC CLUES WARN US - THIS WORLD'S FINAL 3.5 YEARS ARE FROM JUNE 2016 TO DECEMBER 2019
Thank you SweetJava! I concur my friend! God bless!
Thanks for your comment David!
Yes the antichrist spirit is alive and well in the world today, no doubt in my mind. I feel that our time is short, and that something big is about to happen, yet I will not give any dates, maybe this year, maybe next year. I don’t know for sure.
God bless!
What an awesome future for Christians, true believers in Jesus. All this fuss about climate change, politics and such and in just a few more minutes, days, weeks, or possibly years, we will be in the eternal dimension of heaven with our God. I think one of the greatest blessings about being in heaven is I don’t think there will be any “news” no more reporters standing out in the streets talking about cops being shot and riots. No more news anchors sitting at their desks like big blond peacocks all tense and shrill about the big breaking news story, finally no more “news” in heaven. It will be a state of complete serene contentment and control, nothing out of kilter, nothing to be alerted about. As you say Gordon people going about business as if nothing is of much concern, week-end coming, super bowl and good times. Even the people here in California think with a little rain and snow our drought is over, mother nature came through for us again and nothing to worry about. However the amount of water that God has blessed us with is only about 5% of what is needed to break the drought. California is absolutely drunk on its movie idols and star adultery. Demonic and the paranormal is selling like hotcakes. What’s it going to be to start the tribulation? Not too long ago Ebola was terrorizing nations and now it’s Zika desease of the unborn. The world’s biggest economies are the weakest they have ever been in history. Russia about out of money, China devaluating their currency, Europe on a down slide, Africa in mega droughts in Ethiopia and Sudan. America in too much debt. What a great time for the rapture of the Church. I’m praying for the gospel to go out to all who will hear, accept and believe in Jesus before the trumpet sounds. Maranatha
Ethin
Thanks for your comment Ethin!
The rapture may soon come, I can’t really see things going on like they are for too much longer before the Tribulation period begins.
God bless! Maranatha!
Thanks to Gordon for very important post.
Thanks to Java for “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”. (never heard that one)
Thanks to David for good points. Even if I’m not sure if I’m agreed. Date-setting books I don’t belive in,but about the tv-show I’m agree.
Thanks to Ethin also for good points.
I’ve been thinking about this 2 Thessalonions 2,11 and this “strong delusion.”
For sure it seems like that is what is happening to non-believers today.
But why do God do it? – I’m not doubting that it is right when God do a thing, I just wonder why.
Is it as simple as if people don’t want to, or refuse to belive, God just let them get what they want?
One of my best friends is an atheist. We have discussed this topic about God a lot of times.
And even he, as one of my best friends, seems to be a little bit irritated when he got lost for answears.
He just refuse to belive as he say without “proove”.
I told him that he twist the rules of God around.
He wants proove, then he will belive he say. But I think that is wrong. Because even with proove his heart will be the same.
I think the right is first to choose to belive, then you will got all the proove you want.
That’s the real problem for atheists. They believe in “the good in humans”. – The same as communists tried to do: “Everyone is the same. We just have to adjust you a little to be agree with us.”..
A country where everyone is the same.
Well, it’s a good thought. But human-hearts is just not good. They are evil.
Do God say that? Yes.
After the flood. See what God say in Genesis 8,21.
Another thing is what Jesus commanded us to do.
“Go out in the world and tell the gospel.”
That’s good, and those who don’t want to believe at least have heard it.
Jesus never told us to convince people about sin. That’s the job for the holy spirit. (John 16,8)
But I see that some non-believers is very happy if they can catch me in a trap.
If they ask me what I mean about one specific sin, (let’s take homosexuality as an example) they want to let me down.
If I say it’s a sin, then they say I condemn other people.
If I say it’s not a sin they say I don’t follow Gods word.
I think that’s part of the spirit of the antichrist. To crush and fool believers in Christ.
So I talk about Jesus instead. After all we are always agree that every singel person do wrong things.
We (believers) tell that everyone do wrong. Jesus came to take the penalty. — Then those people have heard the gospel.
If they still ask what I mean about specific sins, then I tell them that God have told it in the Bible. So go and read if you want to belive.
The holy spirit will convince them if they search with a true heart. – Does it sounds tough? I don’t know, but that’s how I see it from Gods word. – So everyone who correct me I appreciate. :))
By the way, do any of you guys know how many people who still have not heard the gospel? – If any at all?
Is it still some tribesman in Africa, Asia or South America which hav’nt heard? Or maybe in Pacific Islands for all I know, but I doubt that. Most of those Islands are former colonists and free states today. The only country I can imagine myself has to be North Korea. – But I may be wrong.
Thanks Gordon for doing this website. It’s a blessing.
I hope you will keep on doing this with the specific topic beeing the end-time we’re all living in.
I have read it for some time but never commented on it.
It’s just so good to empty the heart of feelings and thoughts to my sisters and brothers in Christ.
After all, we all will be friends in eternity!
Also I think God himself wants us to discuss different topics.
No believer see the whole picture.
From Øystein.
Thanks for your comment Oystein!
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
“11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
I believe that God is sending them a strong delusion because they have hardened their hearts to the point of not believing. In verse 10 it says: “because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” People only get so many chances to accept Christ, no one knows how many that will be. When a person continues to harden their hearts, they become harder each time, and it becomes much more difficult each time to hear the truth. I also know that God’s ways are not our ways, and God’s thoughts are not our thoughts.
Your friend says he needs proof? Well, as a matter of fact, I was just writing another believer about a person she is close to who also does not believe, he needs facts also. I recommended a video series to her. They are made by a man who used to be an atheist! He is an investigative journalist who also needed the facts. His wife became a believer, but he still didn’t believe, however, he saw a wonderful transformation in the life of his wife. So he set out to investigate if Jesus was who He claimed to be, if God really exists, and if Creation is the truth. What he came up with is amazing, he found more proof for Jesus being God, and the proof for Creation, that he became a believer!
The man’s name is Lee Strobel, you may have heard of him. You can find the DVD set containing all three DVDs on Amazon.com. Just cut and paste this into the Amazon search box: The Lee Strobel 3-Disc Film Collection
The titles of the DVDs individually are: “The Case for Christ”, “The Case for a Creator”, and “The Case for Faith”.
I watch these movies over and over again! They are very well made, inspiring, and motivational.
But, it’s like you said, we cannot prove that Jesus is God to anyone, that is the work of the Holy Spirit, however, we can plant some seeds. And we can try to encourage them to see the light. These videos may help. I love them!
I’m not really sure of any country which hasn’t had the gospel preached in. I know that there have been Christian missionaries in North Korea, because I have heard of them being thrown into prison! However, they are probably people in all countries who haven’t yet heard.
It’s difficult being a believer in the world today Oystein. Especially when you feel outnumbered. Having a place where you can come and share your beliefs with others who have the same faith is not only a blessing, but important in our walk with the Lord!
God bless my friend! Maranatha!
Hello again dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ! It is so edifying to be able to connect with you all through these posts and to be in agreement with you on the things that truly matter concerning Jesus our Lord and our Salvation.
I also have experienced that often unbelievers will quickly turn into accusers when they feel they don’t have any arguments left. It is infuriating to them when the answers they are given are from The Word ( using The Sword of The Spirit) as it cuts through to the bone and marrow and it will not return without doing what it was intended to do …… If we sow the seed, God will water and If the Seed has fallen in fertile ground ( I believe preparation by prayer does helps soften the ground ) It will eventually produce a harvest .However, the ground is not always fertile and the seed will wither and sometime it will start to grow but the cares of the world will crowd it out..
. When I have become discouraged at times from lack of results the Lord has corrected me using the parable of the workers in the vineyard who complained that they had worked all day and yet the ones who came in the last hour received the same reward. I have had the joy of leading others to Christ but never from my own family , however, The Lord knows all who will come and when the right time is for them. It might not be before the Rapture, they may even have to go through the purification of the Tribulation but the good seed if planted well in them from The Word of God will do that for which it was sent and may be the very thing that will come to mind in their last hour or stop them falling for the deception and accepting the mark of the beast. All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned to us by The Lord for there is little time left before the night falls and all work must come to an end. We must not get discouraged because it is getting so dark and seems impossible to reach the people as discussed in these posts but It is not God’s will that any should perish and even our love for our best friend, husband ,wife, Son, ,mother etc etc is nothing compared to His love for them, we must pray for His Kingdom to come and His Will to be done but it might not be as we would understand or expect Him to work and we may not even know the results of our prayers until all is revealed but do not give up! Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them. Let your conversation be gracious as well as sensible then you will have the right answer for everyone.
I am not sharing any of the above to preach or teach as that is NOT my calling and would not be fitting for me to do so but to encourage as I have been called to be an Encourager and that is a gift from Him and how I am most used by the Lord in my labour for Him and to help build up The Church.
Love to you in Jesus name !
Christine
Thanks for your comment Christine!
You know, God told us that we have been made priests and kings, so we are to preach the word of God! Just a thought.
It is a blessing that we as believers in Jesus Christ can study God’s word together, pray together, and be in agreement with what He tells us is the truth! Amen.
I agree with you Christine, we are to sow the seeds, but it is up to God to make them grow. We can only lead, but we cannot save! We can share God’s love, we can shine a light, and we can be a witness to the glory of God!
God bless sister!
Thank you Gordon, point taken, preach I will then !!!
Gordon & Oystein I truly thank you for Your prayers for Stephen, …. I know the powers of darkness are rattled and actually saw a large demonic being with thick curly horns watching us from our dressing room very early hours of the morning, It really took me by surprise! I have never seen anything like this before. Stephen was sleeping and I was instantly attacked by a spirit of fear that pervaded the whole room, I called on The Lord to cast out the fear with His perfect love and asked Him to rebuke the devil and powers of darkness from seeking to put fear in me and from preventing Stephen from coming to Him, I told the being to leave and not return in The Name Of Jesus… I called on The Blood of Jesus to cover me and Stephen and to be on the doorposts of my house , after standing fast in faith proclaiming The Word and praying for what seemed like a few minutes the being just left without any resistance ! Amazingly… I soon fell asleep and rested very well , in the morning Stephens heart had softened again, we spent a lot of time before rising discussing the news and the signs of the end times and he allowed the reading of Bible passages to which he listened quietly and thoughtfully. . I have ordered ‘The Case for Faith’ DVD from Amazon ( the others were not available ) I will give to Stephen when it arrives…and Lord willing he will watch it . I also apologised to Stephen for hurts I had caused Him during our marriage and asked his forgiveness which he freely gave me , we talked about the abusive Vicar and he said has been able to let go of that too recognising that forgiveness is the way to his own freedom from the effects of that. We have made great progress! It is such a blessing to know you are both there agreeing and praying for Stephen and Me. I will remember you both in my prayers too for blessing, guidance and protection. I hope Oystein reads this.
God bless you both!
Christine
Thank you for sharing your experience with us Christine!
I know that Satan and his demons are real! Not only from biblical teachings, but also from my own experience. I have witnessed first hand demonic possession, and if you don’t believe in God, you will then!
Demons can manifest themselves and make themselves known, however, so can God and angels! Remember, He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world Christine! Do not fear, for God is with us always! Demons may tempt us, they may try to instill fear within us, but they cannot harm us without the permission of our Father in heaven! You did exactly the right thing, exactly how I would have done it. Satan and his demons tremble at the name of Jesus! Amen.
I am so excited that Stephen is coming around, at least enough to listen to you and hear the word of God! This is truly a miracle sent from heaven sister!
As far as the video goes, I’m not sure if you already told Stephen about it, but maybe you should watch it first, then you will know what to expect. Just a thought.
God is good, and His ways are pure, we should do our best to emulate Him and His ways! He is holy, so we should be holy also.
1 Peter 1:15-16
‘but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” ‘
Ours is to shine a light, so that others may see our good works, so that they may see the love of Christ within us! Love your spouse, forgive him of his sins against you, and shine a light for him to see! Well done Christine!
May the Lord our God richly bless both you and Stephen, may He fill you both with His Holy Spirit and give you the peace and comfort that you both deserve. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
God bless sister! Maranatha!
Thank You Gordon, It has been a long time in coming (20 years of actively praying for him) but there has been a breakthrough!! I think perhaps that brief glimpse of that shadowy demon and the sense of that pervading fear in the room was something that had been loosed from holding Stephen in fear . I know it’s gone now! Stephen is willing to discuss and is seeing the signs of the end times all around and is in agreement so much more and actually bringing my attention to things that are happening in the world that fit with the end time teachings. He confessed yesterday that He believes in God the Creator.
I believe whatever is lacking will be added unto him now. I will watch the film first though but I have told him about it. He says he has questions that are still not answered but at least he is willing to search for those answers now . I have to be sensitive to him as he will need milk at first and sometimes I have been guilty of giving him real meat and causing him indigestion! then he asks me to hold off from telling him anymore.! So I must be sensitive in God’s timing I am not offering to pray the sinners prayer with him though as don’t want to rush him into something he is not fully ready for yet. I believe that the Lord will be there when the time is right. It’s a funny thing though but I had to totally give up and profess that I didn’t want Steve saved for my sake anymore and I truly meant that!… It actually didn’t matter to me for myself anymore but I acknowledge that God loved him more than I ever could and that I wanted His will to be done not mine. I believed He had placed us together for his purpose of having a Christian in his life and I trusted Him to do whatever was necessary concerning Stephen because I know it is not His will that anyone should perish without the opportunity of being saved. However, I had come to a place where I was and am ready to leave when the trumpet sounds and I am free in my heart to leave on my own if necessary. It was real and God plucked it out of my heart and I think that was the defining moment!
The Lord gave me a message for myself two weeks ago saying ‘The Lord will be your Husband and you will forget the shame of your youth and the reproach of your widowhood will be remembered no more.!
Praise The Lord!
Christine
Amen Christine! Hallelujah!
God is good and He indeed answers prayer. I believe that you are right, the demonic spirit that you saw was probably influencing Stephen in the wrong direction and blocking his mind from the truth.
I think that you are right on track, not giving him too much to digest, especially if he isn’t saved yet! It may just overwhelm him and drive him further away.
The best way is patience, prayer, and love. Remember that ours is not to save, only to lead, God’s job is salvation! We can lead a person to “living water”, but we cannot make them drink.
That is so awesome Christine, I am very excited for you and Stephen!
Whatever happens, we must always be ready, for we know not the hour of our redemption. Amen.
God bless sister! Maranatha!
