Unaware of the Times!

Noahs Ark copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Living in the world these days seems like living in the middle of a horror movie!  Morals and values decaying almost daily, Islamic terror spreading like a wildfire throughout the world, wars and rumors of wars around the globe, increased earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and super storms causing mass destruction and killing tens of thousands!

Yet, we live our lives and carry on with daily activities, business as usual.  Isn’t this what the bible tells us will happen in the end times?

Matthew 24:38-39

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Just as in the days of Noah, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, just as it is now!  People seem unaware of what is happening in the world, many believers are warning the world of what is soon coming, yet many do not listen, they are unaware!

And even though the world is in chaos, evil is spreading drastically, and there seems to be no real solutions, people don’t really seemed very concerned or aware of what is really happening.  They continue on with their lives, business as usual.

Jesus warned us that this would happen before His second coming, that as in the days of Noah just before the great flood, the world would be unaware!  Noah preached of the soon coming destruction upon the world, and the same is true now, as many believers are warning the world of what is soon coming!  The world just turns their heads in disbelief, in mockery and scoffing!

Jesus is our Ark, He is the way out, the way to salvation!  Without Him we are doomed to destruction!  The lost are being warned, yet they continue on in disbelief.  The door is open, yet they walk on by believing that everything will just work out!  One day soon they will be knocking on that door, begging and pleading to be let in.  But it will be too late!  They will have had their chance, the door will be closed never again to be open for salvation!

God is good and He tells us beforehand what will happen, He informs us of what we must do to be saved!  He offers us a way out, a way to eternal life!  It’s our choice if we heed the warning calls, or if we just walk on by.  He will not force us, nor will He control us if it is not our will!

Even though the world is headed for complete disaster, and even though there seems to be no hope for the future of the world, the lost continues on as if all is well!  They place their trust and faith in man, in the intelligence and reasoning of mankind, and push away the One who gave them life!

The lost still have a chance, they still have time, but time is short and no one knows just how much of it each and every one of us has!  The day of salvation is today!  Don’t wait until the doors are shut, do it now!

Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

The deception and apathy is mindboggling. You are right to compare these times to a horror movie. Mass murder burns through the globe like a raging brush fire and the world shrugs its shoulders, yawns, and goes back to sleep. I believe with all my heart that the only thing that will wake up a slumbering, self-obsessed world is an event so monumentuos, on such a grand scale, that it will touch every single person on the planet in one way or the other. The only event I can think of that would have that kind of impact is the disappearance of millions. In a moment, In the twinkling of an eye.

      Thanks for your comment Lyndsey!

Unfortunately even a monumental event will not wake up most people. In the book of Revelation, John speaks of people who rebelled against God, and how even after God’s wrath being poured out upon them they refused to repent and turn to God! Keep in mind, this verse is speaking of the fifth bowl! There have already been four bowls poured out upon them!

      Revelation 16:10-11
“Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.”

We must pray for the lost to see the light, to repent of their sins, and to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

      God bless! Maranatha!
