Remember the true meaning of Christmas!

the birth of Christ copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

This is the time of year when most Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior into this world in the flesh!  A time to worship and reflect on what God has done for us.

Unfortunately it is also a time of great distress and calamity upon the world.  A world turned upside down and inside out.  A time of confusion and chaos.  This did not just happen overnight my friends, but over a period of thousands of years.

From the very first sin committed by Adam and Eve, throughout the ages mankind has been rebelling against God and continues to do so!  Is this how it was originally meant to be?  Or did God have another plan for mankind?  God did have another plan, that plan was for God and mankind to live together on earth forever, in peace, love, communion, and perfect harmony!  To live in a world created by God and for God.  However as we all know, this didn’t happen the way it was intended to.

Therefore, God needed a way to reconcile mankind to Himself, to wash man clean as he was before the first sin that he ever committed.  God is perfect, He cannot have a relationship with man the way that he intended without first cleansing mankind of all sin!  The only true way to clean man and make him pure again was through the holiness and righteousness of God Himself, through the blood of God Almighty!

The blood of the Creator of the universe, holy, righteous, and pure!  Blood which has the power to save, to cleanse, and to heal.  So this is why God came to earth in the flesh, to become a man, and yet still God.  To sacrifice Himself for what man has done wrong, nothing of His own doing, but ours!

God loves us so much, wants to live with us so much, that He is more than willing to sacrifice His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, in order for us to live with Him again, forever!  How awesome is that?!  How beautiful and loving a God, not only to give of Himself, but to actually give Himself for us, for all that we have done wrong, for all that we have done against Him!

The God of the universe lowering and humbling Himself before man, before His own creation in order to live a perfect life with us!  This is our God, this is the true God that we serve and worship!  Holy, Righteous, Pure!  A loving God, a merciful God, a forgiving God!  A God that wants the best for us and will do anything to give it to us!

Many people view God as a mean tyrant, just waiting to pass judgment upon the world!  This could not be further from the truth!  Yet, there will come a time when He says enough is enough, that is true and it must be, for He is righteous and just.

Do not spend your life with a hole in your heart, with a void in your soul!  Jesus Christ is the only one who can fill it, He is the missing “peace” which you have been searching for!  Today is the day of salvation!  You may not have another!

Accept Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends and Merry Christmas!  Maranatha!

  1. Wonderfully said Gordon and although I personally do not believe it’s the true birthday of Christ, I do believe in the true symbolism of Christmas.
Peace on earth and Good will towards men, without the drama of chaos and confusion!
    Come Lord Jesus, come…

God bless us all to find the Spirit of love in each of us, starting with the holidays and continuing through out the years…
    Merry Christmas!

  2. Merry Christmas Gordon. Wonderful explanation of the true meaning of Christmas! Should be sent to everyone’s mailbox.

  3. I know that it’s not the true date of Christ’s birth, however, this is the day we use to celebrate it. And as the world becomes darker, even many of the lost who celebrate Christmas will see the light and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! This is what it’s truly all about.

God bless SweetJava, and Merry Christmas! Maranatha!

  4. Amen! I pray it so, my friend. For it is a celebration of the love God has for all of us, the human family, when He came to be among us. Holy is His Name!

Be well and healthy! And thank you!
