Jesus Christ, our help in time of trouble!

Jesus cross and sun

Commentary By:  Gordon King

At times I feel as though I am causing more heartache in life than the will of God.  I often wonder if anything that I am doing for the Lord has any meaning or purpose.  That I have screwed up so much of my life, how could God use me for His will?  Why on earth would He even want to?

1 Corinthians 1:26-27

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;”

At times I struggle, I wonder if I should even go on.

Then, I remember the promises of God.  I will never leave you or forsake you.  I am with you always.  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  He promised that all will work together for the good of those that love Him, all who are called according to His purpose.

I am not perfect, I sin, I don’t always do the right thing.  I know these things about myself and I admit it, I’m human!  But I also know that our God is a forgiving God, that Jesus Christ came to take away my sin.  That even though I may stumble and fall, He will always be there to pick me back up!

This does not mean to live a sinful lifestyle, I’m not saying that at all!  But we all will sin!  Do not deceive yourself, it will happen.  And when it does repent and ask the Lord to forgive you, and He will!

And I know that the good Lord forgives, I know this from His word, and I know this from personal experience.  I know that God will continue to use me for His will, I know this also from His word and from personal experience.

The Holy Spirit is searching the hearts for those who will perform God’s will on earth!  And just what should we be doing, what is God’s will?

Seeking the truth, seeking after God and His heart.  This is what we should be doing, this is what all believers should strive for.  Seeking the truth and wisdom of God Almighty!

While we journey down that long and narrow path, we shall at times stumble, we may fall, then we get back up and forge ahead.

What motivates us to do the right thing, to live a godly life is our love of God!

If we are true believers in Jesus Christ, then we will choose to do the right thing.  We will choose to live a godly life, and to follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior!

Love the Lord your God, love your neighbors, love your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!  This is what it’s truly all about.  Love each other, carry each others burdens, help and encourage one another.  Lead the lost to salvation through love.

Let us all be aware of the presence of God.  He knows our hearts and our minds.  He knows our pain and our suffering.  He is helping us as we move along through this physical existence we call life, as long as we follow Him.

If you are suffering and feeling unworthy, just know that God loves you dearly!  If you are feeling convicted of sin in your life, then repent of it, and ask Him to forgive you, He will!  He loves all of us and wishes for no one to perish.  This is the will of God.

If you are feeling lonely and depressed, then believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, repent of your sins and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior!  He will help you, He will give you peace and comfort.  He will always be with you, you will never be alone!

Accept Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Savior!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Love is what makes us a “peculiar people” for Our Lord.
Love that surpasses any secular understanding, for society does not know true love – agape which is love and forgiveness in a world full of chaos and confusion. Love makes us feel good and secure deep down to our very core, it’s not superficial or for a fleeting moment but forever. I pray people realize what a gift God has given us out of love for us! as you have so nicely stated.

Thanks again Gordon for the message of hope and LOVE. No matter what one is going through LOVE, His love will always guide us through it. Lets focus on it often, not the negatives of this world.
Keep looking up! God bless us all.
