Becoming more Christ-like!

Jesus Saves Lives picture in clouds

Commentary By:  Gordon King

The world, arrogant, full of pride, geared towards what you can achieve and accomplish for yourself and not others.  As the world turns so does our time, and our time is short!

Whatever happens in this life, whomever is offended, whatever good comes out of it, God is in control of all things!

God, Who was, Who is, and Who will always be!  This should always be our main focus in life.  No matter the circumstances, no matter the offense or the good works, focus on God first!

Seek God first in all things, put Him first in all things, place your faith and trust in Him at all times!  This is true wisdom, this is a principle of God which will place you in His favor.

As we as believers grow in our faith of God, then we see things which we did not see before.  We feel and see the sin in our lives more clearly, we see ourselves as being unworthy and unholy.  I used to think that something was wrong with me, that I must be falling away from the Lord for some reason.  However, just the opposite is true!

When believers following the Lord sense the sin in their life more intensely, when they feel more unworthy, when we become more sensitive to the world around us, then this is a good thing!  It means that we are becoming more mature in the Lord.  It means that we are becoming more Christ-like!

It is difficult living in the world today, and even more so for a believer in Jesus Christ who is faithful and devoted.  The sin around us makes us uneasy, situations in the world can make us tense, and unbelievers around us become more offensive to us in their remarks and actions.

When our light shines brighter the sin becomes uncovered, the darkness is exposed by the light and sin is revealed to us.  This is a good thing, often difficult to bear, but a good thing none the less.

As our light shines brighter, the world can see the good works of the Lord through us.  They can see the love, the caring and the compassion of Christians and of God above and within.

None of us are perfect, not even believers in Jesus Christ.  We all make mistakes, we all sin, but we can repent, and we are forgiven!  This is the difference between the saved and the unsaved.  We are forgiven of all sin, we are filled with the love of God, and we perform good works for the glory and honor of our God!

We should all be growing in the Lord, we should be becoming more Christ-like in the process.  If not then are we falling away?  Read and study the word of God, talk with God, repent of your sins, ask Him to forgive you, seek Him first in all things, and give Him thanks!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

    Amen!
The quest for truth is in Christ.
God protects His covenant people and those grafted in in so many ways. We must stay in His grace and not loose hope. We know how the book ends… God bless. Maranatha!!

You said it and I’ve been thinking it, God’s “covenant people” and “those grafted in”. God chose the Jews, loves the Jews, favors the Jews, always has, always will, yet He grafted in the gentiles to be a part of the covenant, a new covenant. We are a part of God’s Jewish family! Support the Jews, support Israel, God does! This is His will, and whatever is God’s will should also be our will.

      God bless! Maranatha!
