Do you Suffer in Life? Are you a Believer?

pain and suffering copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

In this world of uncertain times many of us struggle with the effects of sin upon our lives!  Many of us become victims of pain and suffering, whether or not from our own doing.

The Lord tells us that as believers in Jesus Christ we will suffer tribulation, that we will go through trials and persecution.  As Christians we are covered by the blood of Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit of God within us, to lead, to guide, and to comfort us from within.  God will help us if we humble ourselves and ask, if we have faith!

As believers in Jesus Christ we must put God first in all things, have faith in His word and His promises to us!  When we are close to the Lord He will hear us, strengthen us, and answer our prayers.  It is Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace who will give us comfort.

But what about the unbeliever, what hope do they have in being comforted, in getting the help they need in times of pain and suffering?

Sorry to say, but if you are not a born-again, bible believing Christian, then God will not hear you.  You are separated from the love of God as an unrepentant sinner!  You will suffer and not find hope, you will endure tribulation without the help of God to relieve you.  Unless, unless of course you listen to the voice of God.

God gives all of us the opportunity to come to Him.  He often times convicts unbelievers of their sin and offers His free gift of salvation.  I believe that the good Lord gives most people many opportunities to repent of their sin and to accept Him as their God.  However, I also believe that this will not last forever, that there comes a time when the conviction stops and the opportunities are no longer there!

God can help everyone, all who come to Him in humility and repentance.  He loves everyone and wishes for no one to perish.  The only way for God to help the unbeliever is for the unbeliever to accept Him as their Lord and Savior!  There is no other way.  That’s not to say that the Lord cannot and does not allow situations to happen and not happen to the unbeliever, He is God, He can do anything.  However, for true comfort and peace, one must become a believer in Jesus Christ!

Sin is the opposite of who God is and what He represents.  It is sin which separates us from the love of God!  The only way to cleanse ourselves from sin is by the blood of Jesus Christ!  By doing so we make ourselves holy and righteous in the eyes of God.  Then God can hear us, He can and will be with us, at all times, in all things!

Pain and suffering is real, it is a result of sin in our lives, a result of a hardened heart and of blinded eyes.  Without God it is impossible for us to know the truth, and impossible for us to have real, true, peace and comfort.

For true peace and comfort you must repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ (God) as your Lord and Savior.  He is the only way, there is no other!  Don’t be deceived into believing that there are many ways, this is a lie from Satan, straight from hell!

John 14:6

‘Jesus said to him: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” ‘

Salvation is the way to eternal peace, comfort, and joy, it is the way to everlasting life!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Walking with the Lord daily, praying to God daily, reading His word daily, and placing all your trust in Him is the key to having a close relationship with God!  This is the will of God, for all of His children to be in a close relationship with Him.

If you are not a Christian and suffer, accept Jesus Christ, believe that He is God, that He can help you.  Make Him the Lord of your life!

Accept Jesus Christ Now!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. Beautifully said Gordon. And very simple to comprehend.
In the mist of a storm He IS there. Praise be His Name!
But as you pointed out we need to accept Him first…
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Mat.11:29,30
    God bless. Maranatha!
