My Best Friend!

pain and suffering copy

Do you have a friend to help you through the tough times?

Commentary By:  Gordon King

The world is a tough place, and even tougher when you are alone or feel alone.  Believe me when I say that I know how this feels.  I have been there, done that!  I have gone through hard times, dark times, lonely times, depressed times, times of suffering, and times of grief.

Even married couples can be lonely.  Just because you’re married does not mean that you cannot suffer from loneliness.  Physical contact is not the same as an emotional connection, I know because I’ve been there.

You may have friends who seem close, but are they always there for you in your time of need?  Can they offer you everything that you need to see you through tough and difficult times?

We all need a friend, a best friend, one who will always be there when we need them, one who will not harm us or condemn us for what we may have done.

When I was at my darkest hours and in need of something, of someone, I had a friend who came to comfort me.  He listened to what I had to say, and without accusing me or placing any blame, he shared his love with me.

When I was lost, lonely, and confused, he came to my side and helped me find my way.  He offered me hope, joy, and peace.

When I suffered from depression and anxiety he was there at my side, walking with me down a dark and lonely path.

When I experienced the loss of loved ones he was there with me, comforting me as I wept with grief.

When I felt like all was lost, as if there was nothing to live for, he reassured me and built my confidence.

When I was hurt by another, he was with me, an aide in my defense.

And even when I sinned against someone or even him, he was more than willing to forgive.

This is my friend, a friend for life!  The life which keeps on giving and giving and giving.  This my friends is Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ, my Best Friend for Life!

Even though I am not worthy, and even though I am a sinner, He loves me just the same.  He is my God, my Lord, my Helper, and my Comforter.  He is my Best Friend!

All of us need a friend, one who we can count on to be with us in our times of need.  One who will always be there, will never turn his back on us, will never do us wrong.  Someone we can count on in all things, at all times.  The only friend that I have like that is Jesus Christ!

Know that whatever you have done, whomever you have hurt, God loves you!  He loves you and wants to be your Friend for Life!

Make a Friend for Life! Accept Jesus Christ Now!

God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

  1. THE friend who carries you through it all, even when you might not think so.
Beautifully said Gordon. And ohh so very true. Nothing compares with the love He infinitely has for us all. (John3:16)
He is just and fair. (John3:17)
Although He lets us pass through some hard knocks to get our attention, with hope on our side He makes the consequences of our lives go easier by communicating our faults, our needs, our thanks to Him who is always there to listen and help.
one needs to be a friend back out of love.
John14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
James2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. (KJV) We too can be called ‘the Friend of God’ when we trust Him. Amen.
    God bless us all. Maranatha!
